  1. If I were going to go the 7K miles between oil changes I would change the filter at 3500 miles. The oil is designed to run without breaking down for that many miles, but it will be good to put a new filter on to assure that you keep it clean. I know several people that do thier synthetic oil this way and have had very good sucess with it
  2. Don. I can't get near the top end speed out of my o4 Midnight in 4th that I can in 5th. It hits the rev limiter in 4th before it is through stretching out:whistling:......
  3. My feeling is that every engine should be broken in and run moderately hard. The temps need to be up to make the engine reach it's maxium performance range. As far as the RPM, that is what the rev limiter is for. It helps to keep idiots like me from stretching out the connecting rods:no-no-no:.... I am an agressive rider and it is not unusual for me (when I'm alone) to hit the rev limiter several times a day:whistling:. As long as you don't peg it out every time you accelerate the engine should be fine. I've got 42k miles on my 04 and have not seen any kind of adverse effect (leaks or high temps). Of course as soon as I hit the rev limiter I come back off the throttle and shift up. It is just my opinion, which doesn't mean much to anyone but my dog, the stock rev limiter is set a little low. I believe it is to protect people like me that like to get close to the edge every now and then. (OK,, a lot....) Mainly, just ride it and enjoy the day...
  4. I checked out some of the prices on Super Bright LEDs. They have some good prices on regular bulbs, especally the wedge bulbs. Thanks for the tip Buddy.
  5. The best price I have found in LEDs is from Custom Dynamics, www.customdynamics.com . I have seen those wedge LEDs listed but dont remember the price. I too am swithching to LEDs to reduce amp load and for better visibility. You are right though, it gets expensive quick. Good luck with the search.
