  1. It sounds like you just need to reset it. To do that. Shut it off with the switch to the off position by pushing the switch on the right side while the bike is running. Then turn it back on by pushing the switch on the left side. You should be good to go.
  2. This trick has worked for many and it does not cost a lot. Put posts around the garden and then buy the highest pound test fishing line you can buy. Over 150 lb. test would be great. Put it at around 42" high. If the little one's are getting in you will have to put up two lines. The lower one around 30" high. They run into it with there chest and the line gives a little so they back up but they can't see it so they can't jump it. It does work. Have fun.

    Bugs B Gone

Ti's not a problem Eck. The radiator gets hit pretty good on the Venture.

    Bugs B Gone

CowPuc, You better stop and get some of this stuff. Your bike probably looks like one GIANT Bug by now with all the traveling you been doing. Maybe the two of you are looking like two big bugs riding a bigger bug.

This stuff also works on your radiator and every other place your towels won't work. Just saying. IT works great.

O'Reillys has Bugs B Gone on sale $ 4.99 for 16 oz. Spray Bottles. Made by seafoam. The stuff works great.
  8. Ray C's of Lapeer Michigan is breaking ground today for the New Motorcycle Super Store. 37,000 Square Feet. Suppose to open this fall. Just south of I-69 on Lapeer Rd. He will be combining both of his current stores. News for the Michigan riders.
  9. Checked Air Pressure in Tires? Same Pressure in Front Forks?
  10. Another thought. Can you raise the front off the ground and rotate the tire and listen real good as to any noise?
  11. How many miles on the bike? I am thinking it is not your bearings but your brake shoes.
  12. Hello Larry, You are a great fab guy for sure. My only thoughts would be heat build up in the oil pan. The fins in the oil pan are there for a reason to help disperse heat from building up. Maybe you can add some slots to the skid plate to help that out. Just a thought.
  13. Praize The Lord . May you both work hard at restoring your faith in God and then your love for one another will come much easier. Thanks for sharing a tender part of your life. Hugs to you both.
  14. Eight years ago I bought my son his first bike. An older Honda 1100 CB. He learned how to ride and kept that bike for 4 years. He too is 6'3 225 lbs. He now rides a Yamaha FZ and takes it to the drag strip every now and then in Lapeer Mi. He has to wear the full leather gear because of the speed he reaches. Here in Michigan you can get a learners permit and be able to ride with someone 21 years or older. We did that for 2 months and he went and passed his test and now is enjoying the love of the sport. It doesn't mater what you ride, you still have to use good sense and that is what you need to instill in him. Enjoy the time of riding with your son. We have had some great times together. I keep trying to get him to get a touring bike so we can go on those longer trips.
  15. I was just checking with the wife and we have a grand daughters birthday party to go to. Dag Nabit. Wish we could make it but grand daughter is more important than listening to a bunch of li... or I mean stories. Have fun and the 25th will be closer to spring.
  16. I did not see the torque on those. I tightened them with a long T-handle allen wrench. I don't think you can over tighten with that because the handle starts to twist. The hardest part of the whole job was taking the water pump drain bolt out. I don't think it was worth the effort. Only a very small amount came out of mine. T.J.
  17. You are correct. Thank you. T.J
  18. It's ok. Some will understand what I meant. I hope. :-) T.J
  19. I have always trusted the info. I have gotten on this great web sight and still do even as of today. Just changed the cylinder drain plugs #90338-1152-00 shown in the "Crankcase Segment" of parts manual. You need (4) of them. I trusted what I had read about a small amount of green fluid on the floor. Ordered accordingly before I even took anything apart because of what I have read on this sight. All were weeping. A lot of coolant comes out of those little holes when you pull the plug out. Changed out all of the coolant, changed the oil pan. It had a small leak in the drain plug area so I fixed that with a new one. The threads were cracked all the way through to inside of the cover.. If it were not for the info from this sight and talking to members directly. I wouldn't have done half of what I have been able to do with out you folks that give out info. I say thank you to all. Just a note. If you are in any kind of leadership position any where in the world including this sight. "Don and all the moderators" you will be attacked at some point in time from someone and it is usually from within our own org. that we belong to and care about including the church. Hard to believe I know. Keep on keeping on and again thanks for all you do and put up with.
  20. Got a doe back in bow season with the crossbow. I have had 3 different ones I let go because they were to small durning gun season here in Michigan.
  21. Great for you. Nothing like creating memories on a bike ride. Our season here is getting short. What a weather change from 95 to 39 in a week.
  22. I bought a Nolan N-43 Helmet about 4 years ago. It has the retractable sun visor with the flip of a switch on the side. Anyway it got caught on me and would not go up or down. I finally got it to come down but not without a big scratch on one of the lens. It has been that way for about 2 years now. I decided to call Nolan out of Aurora Ill. yesterday and asked them about it. They said send it in with a RA# they gave me and they would replace the mechanism and replace the shield as well, at no charge. It cost me $10. to ship it (two day) delivery and they will ship it back for free. They told me they usually have it fixed in a day. I would say that is pretty good service from Nolan. They are on the pricey side of life but a good helmet. So if you have an issue with your Nolan Helmet it maybe worth a call. 23. My install went great and all is well. I road it home yesterday and then back to work this morning. I also put on another 65 miles today and the volt meter never spiked. I did take off the lowers and my tabs are also broken but all went back together pretty easy. It really is a snap to remove and install a new one. I think a volt meter is a very good idea to install and an easy one at that. As I mentioned in the other post I always thought it would be good for when there was not enough volts with the heated gear on. You could see the draw and turn something off. But now, it also showed to much voltage which I would never have known were it not for darkness and extra bright head light, then looking at the meter to confirm.
  24. You are having way to much fun Larry. Tell Joyce I said hi and to take it easy with that sports car.
