  1. Thanks Carlos. I got it installed and will check it out on the way home.
  2. I am still at work and just pulled the regulator off. It was very simple, repeat, very simple once you know where to look. Thanks for that info. I called the first Dealer in Lapeer Mi. "Ray C's" and they did not have one and said they could not have it till next week. I called Motorcity Power Sports in Bloomfield Hills on Telegraph Rd. and they have one. I will wait for my wife to get here and go pick it up. I am glad I had the "Battery Meter" installed. I put it on with the thoughts of just watching it when we were riding in the colder months when we had our heated clothes on. It sure lit up this morning in the dark with all the lights on telling me "you are over charging" get some help here buddy. Thanks for all the in put and I will shut everything off till I make sure this is it. That bright light was sure nice though. It made all the street signs as bright as day. Note: I am very thankful for this great web sight. Thanks to all that contribute with the knowledge of these great bikes. Have a great day if you want to.
  3. Ok. I shall get a new one and start looking into changing it out. I hope it is an easy fix. We shall see. Thanks for the info.
  4. This morning I left for work in the dark. A couple of times I noticed my head light got very bright and then back to normal. I looked at my "Kuryakyn Battery Meter" the next time it did it and the lights were all on. The red light to the right of the meter was on telling me I was over charging. It would last about a minute or so then go back to normal. I had hooked up my trailer wiring about a month ago and after that I had noticed two green lights on my meter at times that before I had always had only one green light. The headlight was very bright. It really lit up the road but something is not right. Where do I start. Getting ready to go on a trip next week and I don't want to get stranded.
  5. May The good Lord give you and your sister in-law the strength and peace to see this through. Praying together really helps.
  6. Turn the main switch to off. The big black one in the middle where you were talking about. Press on the right side of switch where it says off. Turn it back on and it should work again. Sometimes you have to reset it and that's how you do it.
  7. Awesome son, and gun.
  8. You must mean she rides in the trailer and that keeps it from bouncing? That must be a rough ride back there.
  9. Good idea with eye bolts.
  10. In my other post I talked about the wire hook up failing. I have since pulled the trailer over 250 miles. You learn a lot when you get new things. The trailer pulls great. You really can't tell it is back there except for the bouncing that you see but really do not feel. It does pull better when loaded down with something like the cooler filled with ice and water. I have a spare tire that is on the inside along with a tool bag. These two items just bounce all over the place. I kept looking for cargo nets that would fit inside and I would some how bolt that in place. What I decided on was a cartop bag. Walmart has the one I bought. It is expandable from 10-15 cubic feet. The size is 32 X 37 and either 19" to 21" high. KarPak Model #13911 in case anybody cares to look at it. It has some tabs (see pics) that were in line with some bolts (hinges and latches) that were in the trailer already. I took my leather punch and put a hole in the tabs and installed the bag. It now stays secure in the bottom and I just put stuff in the bag that I want to haul and the bag keeps everything in place. Just sharing some ideas. Would be nice to hear what others have done.
  11. Take the battery out and make sure the contacts are clean. Install and start it up again and see if that helps. Sometimes just a rub on your pants will do the trick for the contacts. I have had to do this before. Hope it works for ya.
  12. Thanks Steve. Your harness worked great.
  13. Well I got the proper converter #46255 and got it hooked up and everything is working. A friend and his wife and I with mine, went for a 170 mile trip today and I pulled the trailer. We stopped a few times and my friend kept saying how bright the lights are. They are the reg. lights. I was happy to hear that. He just could not get over the brightness in day light. The cooler that I have on it I bought at a sale for $5.00 a month or so ago and it fits perfect in the rack. It is so tight I don't have to strap it down. I am very happy with the trailer thus far.
  14. You are correct Jeff. They do not all match. I checked and re-checked many times. I took the 48895 and got my money back and last night ordered the 46255 off of Amazon for $35.17 with free shipping. The local brand Auto stores around here wanted $50.00 up to $80. for special order. Two day delivery. I will have mine from Amazon tomorrow. I will tell how it goes after the install and send pics of my new trailer an 04 TCA. Can't wait. Thanks again for all the help this sight offers.
  15. Thanks Joe. I will get one and try it out.
  16. Joe, do you remember which one you bought? Thanks
  17. I bought the Hopkins #48895 Converter a couple of days ago because Monty had said it worked for him. Local store had it in stock for $24.95. I bought the adapter cable from Steve on this sight and it came today. Great I will get this up and running tonight. Hooked up the cable adapter. Plug and play. Can't go wrong there. Hooked up the Hopkins wiring harness and had side marker lights, "very bright" tail lights, " real dull" or not bright at all. Tried the brake lights and turn signals but nothing worked with those. Made sure I had wired correctly by reading and re-reading again and again. I got the volt meter out and just a very faint response on the meter for turn signals. I got back on this sight and I see where 3 different Hopkins have been used. I am going to go for the 46255 unit and see if that works. My Bike is an 04 Venture and the trailer has the "COMMON" Type Bulbs. Turn/Brake same bulb. Had the trailer hooked up to my truck and all is good with all lights. Any in put?
  18. Has anyone ever heard of a TCA pull behind motorcycle trailer? I have seen the trailer and the registration. Says it's a 2004 and has a vehicle no. I have googled it but no luck. T.J.
  19. I road the bike to work this morning and got pulled over by our local police department. I was setting at a stop light that sometimes takes two minutes in my truck before it changes. I set there on my bike and waited for a little bit and with no traffic in sight I made my left turn. I got on it a little bit and went about a half mile or so and the lights were on me. I pulled into a parking lot, turned the bike off, got off and took my helmet off and stood by the bike. The officer asked if I was late for work and I said no. He asked me why I went through the red light and if I saw him setting across the street in a parking lot. I told him I did not see him and that I had read where if a motorcycle was at an intersection and was stopped for a reasonable amount time they could continue through the light. He said ok and by the way the speed limit is only 35 here. I said how fast was I going and he said " I have no idea":confused24: I had to get up to 60 before I could catch you. I said I don't think I was going that fast and he said I am not saying you were. He asked for my license and just looked at it and handed it back and told me to have a nice day. I thanked him and went on my way. That was all kind of strange but a good out come for me.
  20. That's labor Day Week-end. Will be up North camping.
  21. Last year we were riding our 2nd day in Hocking Hills Ohio. Two of the guys wanted to get off the main roads so we were on some pretty rough paved roads that turned into gravel once we got to the top of a hill. No turning back now. The roads got worse and worse. To make a long story short, I was in the lead. We all had big bikes mine being the biggest of all. One older Gold Wing though. We went through some really tough areas with sand , gravel , and ruts. We all made it out of there and was real glad to get back on the main road. Lot of hills both up and down.

    Bangkok

I went to Thailand back in 1968. We landed in Bangkok and stayed for three days before heading up to NKP Thailand where I was stationed in the Air Force. I always said Bangkok ought to be the Capital of the world. Anything and everything you could ever want was there for the taking. I remember the smell of the city. Food being cooked right on the streets in the market place. Didn't know what I was eating but just said, I'll take that and that and that and then would sit down and eat it. That was a long time ago wasn't it? Just a little bit older now.
  23. If the one still had air in it and was not flat with the wheel weight on it and shows no side wall cracks. I would put it on. The others should be ok as well with no visual cracks. Just me.
