If I remember correctly, the two starter bolts on the GM's were 9/16" too.....

Gary, I am soooooooooo darn envious... That international rally was the best rally I ever experienced, (although Vogel was pretty dang good too now), but to this day I have always dreamed of going back to CO. Down right awesome place. I wish you the best while there!

Now that sure makes one go Hummmmmmmm... My insurance company hasn't hit me with any charges like that and I hope they don't. If they did, I would have to have a sit down with them and if they refused to change the way they charge me for my insurance, I would be pursuing insurance elsewhere. What insurance CO. do you have if I may ask? I have the little green Lizard. Times are changing fast and that "American dream" is becoming a nightmare to reach for most in the 60 plus age bracket.

You might want to consider by-passing the ignition switch when you get it back even if this is not the root cause. They are known to fail all the time.

I think your ignition switch went out on you. Mine did same thing..

Wow, I sure didn't expect this post. Usually I enjoy readying your posts. This one set me back a few steps leaving me with a wrenched heart. We have yet to meet up and yet I feel like we know each other. This day will come! You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Remember the days when US streets and highways were decorated by the occasional Plymouth Prowler? Well, they're about to get an even more ornate decoration in the form of the Morgan Three-Wheeler. The bike..car...three-wheeler has been announced for US sale. When we first saw the Morgan Three-Wheeler, we didn't think it had much of a chance at US sale. We figured that somewhere within the 1,155-lb. package of tiny, open cabin, exposed motor and ultra-thin wheels was a host of US safety violations. But thanks to the fact that its three-wheeled layout and low-volume production give it some reprieve from the tougher restrictions facing four-wheeled cars, the Three-Wheeler has already been approved for US sale. Morgan will sell the funky trio of wheels via three US dealers, according to reports this week. Morgan debuted the Three-Wheeler at last year's Geneva Motor Show. It uses an 115-hp V-Twin engine and 5-speed Mazda transmission to power its lone rear wheel. It can hit 60 mph in 4.5 seconds, meaning it should be as fun to drive as it will be to spot on the highway. The first dealer that will offer the Three-Wheeler is Liberty in Seattle. Morgan purchased Liberty's Ace three-wheeler design, which it redesigned into the Three-Wheeler. Morgan hasn't announced the other two dealers just yet, but we'd anticipate that they'll be in or near big markets like LA, San Francisco, New York or Miami. Company chief Charles Morgan plans to race the Three-Wheeler in this month's Gumball 3000, helping to announce its arrival in the States. The car is expected to cost between $40,000 and $45,000.

Happy to hear that YOU are ok...it seem that it takes just as much time for the bike to get fixed as it does for you to totally heal when things like this happens, and sometimes the cost for both to be back to normal is near the same too...

Did you ever wonder why earrings became so popular with men? A man is at work one day when he notices that his co-worker is wearing an earring. If everything was fine with the bike before replacing the brakes a week ago, I would have to say your problem is with the brakes, but hey... this is only my thoughts and nobody cares what I think..

Adding to what M61A1MECH said above: I must be honest and tell yuo that I miss my RSV, however I would not go back to riding one. Please make note that my opinion is mine alone, and may not be the same from those who own wings. Electronic ignition makes a big difference to me. No carbs to adjust. Power is enless. If there was a way to mount the pillow seat from the RSV to the wing I would be one happy camper..I have rode over 100k on mine wing now and I know in my heart I would never go back the the RSV. The Ventures have a look all of thier own as well as the wing. The Ventures definately look more llike a motorcycle than the wing does, but looks isn't what makes the ride smoother for me. I feel the wing has very close to the same real estate for packing as does the RSV. The RSV however has more real estate for the passenger by far to me anyway. Maintenance on the RSV is a lot easier than tearing into a wing. Air filter is one exsample.. The wing you must tear apart... the RSV air filters are a lot easier to get to and a whole lot less time to change them. Changing front and rear brake pads are a lot easier (for me) on the RSV than they are on the wing. Changing oil & filter is about the same. Rear diffrerential oil, drive shaft and all is about the same. What does this all boil down too? The wing is a 1800cc the RSV is a 1300cc The wing has reverse, the RSV doesnt. The RSV has just about every other option the wing has however the wing does NOT have the cassette player (darn)..............

Make sure you take along: A charged up cell phone and a charger. Spare / extra fuses for the bike A spare head light bulb Rain Gear Check for stock tool pouch (Should be in the left side bag) Tire plugs/ plug tools and an air pump (just for emergency). There is a 12 volt plug on left side of inner fairing (behind clutch lever) for the air pump, or hook directly to battery is what I would do. Cash /ATM card. And most importantly, please tell someone what routes you are taking and where you are headed in case something happens they know where to look for you. I have read way too many times where someone gets on their bike (solo) and heads off on a trip and never made it due to running off the road down over an embankment only to be found days later..
