Happy Birthday to the young guy! Hope you have MANY more!

Well, that's it. My career in military SAR Is over....

As one who flew for the civil side of SAR, I recognize and appreciate all that you've done over the many years. It is not an easy occupation but I'm sure you have many gratifying memories to take with you. All the best in the coming years. Hope you get more time to get out riding. -
Awesome! Been there...done that...and highly recommend it to all those in the position to do it. I love waking up to my OWN alarm clock...not someone else's. Good luck!

While we're on the scenic pics...the attached picture is of an area north of Vancouver BC on the Duffey Lake Road circuit taken while on one of my flights into the north. We have a multitude of such areas throughout our province...all just waiting to be viewed!

Beautiful voice! She certainly has the talent...congrats to her. I hope she goes far.

Carbon One Lift

I appreciate the heads-up regarding the possibility of forgetting to remove unit before riding. It takes me back to my flying days and also gives me a solution. We had many 'Remove before flight' bright red flags to bring attention to crucial items such as pitot tubes, flap/aileron/elevator locks, etc. I plan on using the same attention getters for the lift unit. If I still forget, man I've got bigger problems than I want to admit! Like the idea of casters on the unit but I'm sure that Carbon One had thought of that at some point of production. Easily rectified by using the jack. Still praying for sun and dry roads! -
With you on this one BIG time! Spent many years riding and driving in Vancouver...won't do it any more! Too many people with 'cracker jack' driving licenses spending much too much time looking at their phones instead of where they're going. Give me the open road and spectacular scenery (which we have a lot off) any day! Appreciate you posting the great shot of our little town for those who have not had the opportunity to visit.

Glad to hear you're happy with the unit. I've got one on the way and can't wait to get that RSV up! Looking forward to being able to get at different areas of the bike as the old knees don't allow the flexibility of earlier days. -
From the Canadian west coast, I have to advise sun has peeked out...roads are drying up AND I saw a hardy biker out for a a spin! Can't be too long for this neck of the woods. I'm still on my knees asking for an early spring and will add a postscript to my prayers that all you out east get an early reprieve!

I used a standard suction mount for a trip last July from Vancouver south to Lincoln City Oregon. Mounted it on the inside lower left windscreen to give closer access to the power port. I had little trouble with the unit or mounting place, possibly due to the newness of the suction pad. I will admit to some concern for the secureness but all was well. My biggest problem was the gimbal tightness was not adjustable and the GPS would gradually work itself down. Since then I have mounted a Ram mount on the brake reservoir to alleviate all those concerns. We'll see how this summer riding goes.

Love these stories! Nothing beats quality time with offspring! I'm pleased you had some memory building moments and pray they continue even as they grow up and leave the nest. These moments I've found tend to pass by SO quickly!

My early condolences if it comes to pass. Wouldn't wish that on anyone...if we're talking about the same scenario! :bang head:

Reminds me of a telephone pole I had the unpleasant chance to meet one afternoon in a pay parking lot. My '69 GTX lived with a stowed in bumper until I had the means to repair it. Always wondered what was going through the minds of those that placed it there, if anything!

Amen brother! -
Thanks to all for the insight...I'm quite attached to the skins so may bite the bullet and spend a little for hopefully a lot of satisfaction!

A bright sunny day got my motivation motivated! After installing my Xmas present (kuryakin Hiway pegs) I had a look at my sheepskin seat cover and noticed it could use a good cleaning. I need some ideas on how best to do the cleaning without turning it into a stiff board. Any suggestions? My butt will be forever grateful! Yeah, we still have snow on the ground

Kuryakin dually Hiway pegs, Utopia backrest, visors for all lights! I'm a spoiled little boy and love it!

Also wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! I'd trade your weather for ours in a heartbeat!

Sorry to hear about your concerns. May Uncle Kharma deal a whoopin' on those responsible. We wish you the best over the season.

Just a quick note to give you some comparison numbers. Here in B.C. Canada we are stuck with ICBC (Government) for all Basic insurance. On my 2013 RSV they are asking for $1241.00 for 12 month coverage. I also carry a ride-smart policy that covers the m/c for all other perils...while stored / damage to a m/c trailer / replacement of riding gear, etc. That is an additional $584 for 12 months. This coverage is through Beacon Underwriting Ltd. Hope this helps to give you an idea where some of us are at.
