  1. You mean dissected analyzed and fried......
  2. 24K miles normally will not wear out a clutch. Mine has 60K of mostly city driving and when I do hit the road I am pulling a trailer, both hard on a clutch. If you clutch has been slipping for a while it is possible that you have worn it out from all of the slipping. Measure the clutch disks, A new disc is 3.0mm (0.1181 in.) thick and the wear limit is 2.8mm (0.1102 in.) thick. Not a lot of material between new and worn out.
  3. WOW!! Its amazing how well you are getting that to clean up.
  4. Now that is rare and unusual bling. An inverted V4 engine. Cool.
  5. It seems that if you get a High Output aftermarket you will have more available power, But that extra power comes at the cost of shorter stator life. OEM will live longer. I have no idea on life span of aftermarket made to OEM specs.
  6. It is not a heat issue on the HD. The air gets into the clutch system while the bike is sitting for long periods.
  7. I have a torch, a sledge hammer and a welder, we can get it done...... And then sprinkle some SNOW on it.........
  8. MD is coming, we can fix that organization........
  9. The recall is rebuilding the master and flushing the system. The local news said it is an issue with the master letting in air?
  10. Are those LEDs modulating or flashing. Modulating is legal, flashing is not. Modulating is where the light dims but never turns completely off.
  11. If you buy all of the gaskets and stuff from Skydoc_17 on this site, he has a shim kit he loans out that includes a tool. There is sometimes a waiting list. I believe it is the same tool and shim kit for all ventures from 1983 through 2013. If you want your own tool, I make and sell the tools for $45 shipped to USA. PM me.
  12. He is valuing the logs at $600. Around here firewood is going for around $100 per full cord, cut split, delivered and stacked. How big is the pile of logs? What kind of wood? Are the logs something that could be cut into boards or is it just suitable for firewood. It can cost $2500 to have just one big tree removed around here, withe the cutters taking all the wood. As for the large rocks being put in a pile. He had to do something with them. You may be able to sell them to a landscape or garden store, and get them to come and pick them up. You wont get much if anything for them, but they would be gone. His bid does sound really low. If there is a writen contract he is leagally bound to that price, unless there is fine print in the contract boilerplate that allows for the unexpected. Like others have mentioned, consider the future. Many contractors know each other, word may get out that they need to bid high to work for you. AS to how much if anything to give him, that is tough without being there. Look at it the same as a tip that you might leave a waitress that is exceptional.
  13. Glad you are here able to be telling us about this.
  14. But then if it is all on paper and hard to look up because it is in a box in a basement somewhere, that means it is also impossible for hackers to get hold of it. I would gladly go back to having to fill everything out every time and kept on paper to make the data hack proof and delete proof. It does not stop it from being stolen, but at least someone would need to show up with a truck, break in, load it up, haul it away, and then sit down and read it, or at least feed it to a scanner to get it into a computer. Crooks do not want to work that hard or take that much risk. They prefer to push some buttons on a computer from halfway around the world, go to bed, and wake up to have all that data appear on their thumb drive ready for resale.
  15. There are HIDs that do have the attached Halogen. Yes the modulator would work on the HI beam part of that type bulb. If you try to modulate the HID half of the bulb you will burn it out quick. But then the question is. IF you go with the type of bulb with the halogen for the HI beam, do you really want to lose at least half of your light when you do switch to HI beam at night. Was the whole purpose of putting in an HID to get more light on the road? When you switch to HI beam is it not because you want maximum light on the road? So your HI beam will output 1/3 to 1/2 of the light that your LOW beam does?. :confused24: I would / did go with the Bi-xenon for maximum light in all conditions. I have been considering putting a modulator on my driving lights.

That is all that was talked about on the news on Monday. Only 25,000?
  17. Claims are filed in the Pay Pal "Resolution Center"
  18. If they do not answer you leave bad feedback, with the new setup that really gets their attention. If you paid thru Pay Pal, start a claim. It will at least freeze the money so they can not get to it. When you take money out of their pocket it gives them more incentive to work it out. Pay Pal almost always sides with the buyer.
  19. The actual vacuum number does not matter that much, it is that they are all the same that is most important. Your idle speed will have a big impact on the actual vacuum number.
  20. The 86 and newer have the lid to the saddlebags that can fall off and go skidding down the pavement. They always slide with the painted side down.......... Don't ask how I know this.........
