  1. Did you actually use the tips from the inmates? Maybe that is why you feel the way you do..........
  2. Are we there yet???? How much longer?????
  3. Well ifin ya leave now wit dat 2 banger...... Just got back from the store, there be RUMBALL fixins in da house.
  4. Go and wave $150 under his nose....... I don't need any of those parts.
  5. What vapors, I know not of what you speak......
  6. I looks a little on the heavy side. You do not want to use up all your towing capacity on an empty trailer. It looks like it may have had leaf springs once upon a time. If so it would be easy to add some back in.
  7. STOP THAT!!! Now hurry and get better.... Geezz, what some people will put themselves thru just to get out of driving a 2nd gen......
  8. Glad you made it there ok. I hope the rest of the bike is OK from the water? Start scouting for a high spot to park on. Tie the trailer to a tree or something so it don't float away.
  9. Rumors, nuttin but unsubstantiated rumors I tells ya...... Dan, after the first of any of the above you will not remember any of the rest on that list......
  10. According to the wiring diagram the horn is on the same fuse as the turn signals and 4 way flashers. So If those work, it is not the fuse. The only other logical place to start is to try cleaning the contacts in the horn switch. I know all of the switches in a 1st gen are serviceable, not sure about one of those newfangled 2nd gens.
  11. Do you still have the stock horn or an upgrade? I'm bringing my electrical box to MD.......
  12. Dingy was making the cables out of 4 AWG Welding wire. That alone helps a lot. The 4 brush starter alone helps a lot. Together they are great. As for the battery, I also put an AGM battery in my bike and it did crank faster, and it died after just 18 months. I'm going back to an Yuasa, they always last me 5 or 6 years and get the job done.
  13. Of course we do. AND pictures.
  14. Looks like a good time. But that battery triangle at Dons????? I seem to remember Don having to buy a lot of batteries this year to.
  15. A local brick and mortar locksmith made me my spares on Yamaha blanks for $7 each. He had the blanks hanging on the wall and did them while I waited. Maybe call some locksmiths that are local to him to see if they have the blank numbers as mentioned by Max. Phone calls are cheap these days. Pay pal will help you if you paid that way. Credit card will also help you. If it was local, or if you paid cash, knock on his door and at least get him to open them so you can take the locks out for a locksmith to work on.
  16. :sign yeah that: See if he will give you the key number. Offer him $10 to have another key made and send it to you. Look close at pics in his other adds to see if you can spot the key number on the ignition switch. If all that fails start a dispute thru ebay or paypal that item is not as described. When his money disappears he will be more willing to work with you.
  17. Looks like another V-twin.
  18. I just reread what I typed and decided it was not within the standards for this site..... Have a nice day.......
  19. I started packing today. Since I am caging it I can bring a lot more stuff.
  20. If water intrusion is an issue, then use what is called "Double Wall" or "Adhesive Lined" (depending on whom you are talking to) shrink tubing. This is shrink tubing that has a coating of hot melt glue on the inside so that the glue melts as the tube is shrinking and completely seals the connection water and air tight. IF you ever need to take the joint apart you can still get it off and the hot melt glue will not contaminate future soldering of the joint. Noting like using the right stuff that is specifically made for the job at hand.
  21. Interesting, But they can keep the lumber, Wood outdoors does not age well, and I wold not want to have to refinish it every couple years. The exkaust on there does look very prototypeish. The welds even still have the heat bluing on them. It needs a trunk.
  22. I will gladly step outside with you, you first........You aint gettin between me and food, and surviving!!!!! A real old one.......
