  1. yeah its just a bit time consuming with the bags on.
  2. Here is a pic with the clear section up.
  3. I went with the SMH10 mounted to an AKoury half helmet and using the Harley Davidson low profile speaker pouches. Love the ease of use and connect ability to all my devices without any wires.
  4. Do you really want the first year if there is a new RSV? I think I'll wait a few years and listen to all the complaints and hardships of things failing. Then like any other used venture purchase it second hand already broken in at a steep discount.
  5. I have a bagger shield, It's the best of both worlds. Short tinted windscreen for around town and flip it up for the foul weather and highway rides. I do have a few issues but for the best of both worlds it's a compromise. Also got the hopnel three pouch pockets mounted to it without any modifications.
  6. I went with the 3ft super flexible antennas and the heavy duty antenna mounts from walcottradio. I also just used the crimp on pl259 for now until off season to replace the coax. Looks 10x cleaner! excuse the organized mess in the background.
  7. I have been thinking of doing the same thing, would be great to hear some experiences.
  8. This isn't motorcycle related tech talk but has anyone noticed the glitch on their post counter? My counter jumped drastically to over 12,000 post when in reality I think I was under 100.
  9. I found one made by Rivco http://rivcoproducts.com/shop-by-motorcycle/yamaha/royal-star/centerstand-for-yamaha-royal-starr-venture.html
  10. Helmet and a good jacket! Nobody is paying attention to motorcycles anyway, to much competition with cell phones these days.
  11. What I figure is you loose 4" in pull back and gain 4" in height over stock, so would that be a break even as far as using the stock cables and hoses? That is a great look! I was also starting to look into the bagger bars for victory's because the width is narrower down at the clamp but still have the same bend to clear the fairing. Maybe a victory owner could chime in.
  12. I have been looking at that model bar and the z bar they offer. Problem is when mounted the fairing makes you mount them on an angle that pushes them towards you rather than upward. Im still in the planning stage trying to gather as many pictures I can to make my decision easier.
  13. Hope there are pictures to see the process unfold.
  14. I hope there will be a before and after comparison
  15. my issue is I'm stuck behind the proper knurling and slimmer clamping width of the Flanders bars or the bagger bend in the Paul yaffe bars. might just have to get some custom made.
  16. Took the bike down a quiet road today for miles with the cruise set at fifty and my hands up on top of the mirrors. Hight was perfect and very comfortable compared to stock, now I have a starting point.
  17. Beautiful... I would be so interested in as many pics as your willing to share of your bagger bars. Especially a side view showing the angles compared to the fairing. I have been researching for weeks about doing the same thing.
  18. Got my patches in the mail THANK YOU!
  19. I have been looking at the Flanders z bars, specifically I think it was the g7. Looks like the measurements and grip angle will be exactly what I'm looking to achieve.
  20. Directly behind the radiator between the front cylinders and front down tube. When I sit in traffic and I start to notice the extreme heat on my legs and inner thighs its because my fan just turn on and is blowing all that hot air across the engine and directly towards me. I was to concerned and surprise by how much heat comes of these bikes but if no light and it's not gurgling or overflow isn't spewing than things should be good. I plan on doing the temp gauge mod soon just so the control freak in me can know exactly what is going on.
  21. Being in the industry I can tell you that as the years go on, the wait gets longer. Problem with road services is if they don't have a contracted provider in the area they will shop around for the cheaper price which could take as long as a half hour. Now contracted providers could be getting anywhere from $24-$40 for a local tow which is 3-5 miles. A lot of providers are now turning down motorcycles and higher end cars for the liability risk, It's not that they can't do it its just that the quality of drivers aren't there anymore. Towing has become that job that anyone can do with little to no training quickly, seems like the drivers around me do it cause they can't get nothing else. Owners tend to keep the no brainier transport and light service stuff to these guys and have one, maybe 2, highly trained and skilled guys to handle the sensitive or detailed work. I have been doing this for 20 years and I tow for 12 police dept, 14 road service companies, and a large number of private accounts. Over the years I have seen road services cut rates and go with the lowest possible provider they can find. Thus in the end the people waiting on the side of the road wait. It is sad what this industry has become and honestly everyone looses but the road service company. If anyone is interested I could go on and on, just pm me
  22. This is the riding position I'm looking for (thanks to motorcycle ergonomics for the pic)
  23. So I'm thinking about taking someone else's idea and mocking up the multiple styles I was looking at in pvc. This way I figure if the styles and manufacturers I'm looking into don't work maybe I can then have a model someone could make me a set off of.
  24. That's better than the cruise control I have
