  1. If all goes well your my first turn when my '07 shock fails
  2. How is the reach? Would you say they are closer, same, or further forward now?
  3. At the first slip of a Phillips screw driver you should step back and reevaluate the situation. I find using a impact driver to be most helpful before I do anything else with screws that haven't been touched in a long time. Looks like a drill out and retap or an easy out will be the fix for this. You can try to remove the rest of the screws and then drill enough of the head to remove the carbs then grab it with a pair of tiny sharp vice grips. Best of luck.
  4. Spent the last week waiting for parts to come in. Ordered RSTD 2" over stock Venture throttle cables, had 4" over stock Venture clutch line and front brake lines made, and got a used pair of Flanders bars. All went super easy and smooth on the install. Cables and hoses have the right amount of slack, not to much and not to little. Now for the disappointment... my wrist angle makes it extremely painful for me to pull the clutch and brake levers for more than a short ride. So if anyone knows anyone with this on there wish list I will make a hell of a deal.
  5. Mounted a Nankang 165/80r15 on my 2nd gen today.
  6. If I recall they circumvent the laws by advising for water can use only. I have a bunch unopened in my tool locker and there readily available from my local tractor supply.

  11. Day 4 American Iternational Motorcycle Expo & Biketoberfest
  12. It was such an amazing ride. The level of maintenance done to the roadway is top notch. It's a must do ride to whoever hasn't done it yet.
  13. Day 3 North Carolina to Florida. Sorry couldn't get the bike over the guardrail
  14. Day 2 Great day riding the Blue Ridge Mountains.
  15. Day 1 Slabbed it down to Virginia and took a scenic ride down skyline dr at Shenandoah National Park. Stayed at the Days Inn Waynesboro, VA. They have the most comfortable beds and best shower ever!
  16. Yup just got that disappointing news this morning the hotel still hasn't got power. Thinking about possible spending the days in the blue ridge mountain areas. Working out the details at the last minute with the group. I'm still riding just have to figure out the logistics of the destinations now.
  17. Will be leaving Wednesday or Thursday heading south to Biketoberfest and the AIM Expo. Super excited because I have never been to the AIM Expo and last time at Biketoberfest was in 2006. My new favorite thing is tracking my ride using the Rever app and posting all my ride maps and pictures on Instagram. So if you have Rever Ill friend you and if your on Instagram you can follow me. If anyone is going to be at either that would be great to bump into you and say hi. I plan on being on the road for at least 7 days but not more than 10 days. Two days to Florida, two days in Florida, and then bounce back and forth the central and eastern time zone line on the way back north.
  18. NOTTS! LOL... I too suffer and have made the changes you have, I will monitor this post closely.
  19. Lots of research and reading, especially venturerider, I was able to dial in my bike to my liking. I feel that the venture offers the most bang for the buck and wrenching the bike yourself is pretty easy with the guidance of so many on this forum.
  20. Im assuming this is your first gen2 venture? Seems like you did your homework already. I picked up my 07 RSMV with 8,000 miles on it in july 2015 and paid $5,000. Still needing to do a couple things to it then and the fact i knew they have a proven track record for a full dress bike you cant beat it. Cash talk, haggle a little bit and maybe there is some more room there. Good luck.
  21. Unfortunately every time I ride I've become complacent and keep choosing comfort over protection. I know I should gear up with the appropriate gear that I own but always wind up rolling out with sneakers, jeans, t shirt, and my 1/2 helmet. These last few post of videos and pictures are a wake up call. Sorry this happened and I hope you heal quick.
  22. Oh man thats something a rider never wants to see or experience. I hope you both are recovering well.
  23. Classic look, love the seat skirting, great picture.
  24. Looks like a great trip and you guys found utopia. That BBQ place looks crazy good.
