Sorry my turn to vent... I found a nice set of Yamaha lower fairing wind deflectors on eBay today with a buy it now of $90 + $10 shipping. In the short amount of time it took me to text the wife and ask if I can have this part they were snatched up. All I can say in DANG!

Its a great idea not only to reduce weight but gain awareness on the function of certain things we can't monitor stock. But I would be uncomfortable altering the stock portion of the bike so if and when it comes down to resale the next owner can apriciate what we all started with before we outgrew the dated technology. So I would add accessories like a temp gauge but maybe mount it low off the right side head motor mount bolt and a tach on the brake resivoir if needed. I like the fact my bike has a non conventional looking speedometer, a six disc cd changer, a tape deck that plays my grammar school mix tapes, and no ability to set the idle exempt by ear. Plus when at rides or rally's the tape deck always blows people's minds. And it's a good answer when people as why don't you get a new Harley, cause it doesn't have a tape deck DUH.

Wow! That may take a but of learning to take advantage of all them features. I'm downloading it and will give it a shot. Looks good so far, thanks.

A must do on my list of adventures! Unfortunately my circle of riders consists mostly of short distance weekend warriors. Nothing is wrong with being a weekend warrior but when my feet go up I don't like to stop till the bike needs fuel. Running alone is fine with me but I found with experience of riding with others gets a bigger you can do it attitude. It's a well deserved and earned certificate so display it with pride

I have downloaded the here we go app and will give that a try as soon as I get a dry day, forecast is 6 days of rain

I love google maps for the number of features they offer in an app. But when ever I make custom routes and pull it up later it always defaults to there navigation rather than mine. All other experiences with apps I can create routes but the just map layers not navigation. I used REVER Yesterday on a great tour thru the New Jersey pine barons area and it went quite successfully but again no navigation just a map overlay.

Both the garmin and tomtom seem to be the choice of many I ride with. But is there a program that can be put on a smart phone or tablet rather than investing in more hardware.

I currently have my older iPhone 5s and iPad Air both with lifeproof cases mounted with ram mounts. That's fine for weather but I don't always want to take the route recommended by Google. Sometimes I just want to spend a few days ahead of my trip and map it out myself but instead of using notes written down utilize the technology.

Now we all know getting lost can be the best part of a ride. But for sake of efficiency to cover as much distance in the shortest possible time by still enjoying the things around you. What are you using to plan a trip or route? I dont one want to spend the money on a $400 and up gps when I have smart phones, tablets, and a basic gps. I have tried multiple apps that I could use from the home pc then log in on any one of my devices and have all the info across all the platforms. After many weeks of trial and error the best I could come up with so far is REVER. Is anyone else here registered on REVER? I would love to find something that would give me voice navigation but without spending money I don't think that exists. Sorry for rambling on but what do you use and does it fit your needs?

I had something similar happen. Except i was including the state, the town, paving contractor, parking line striper, building contractor, landscaper, vehicle manufacturers, shopping cart manufacturer, mars (candy wrapper laying on the ground), and lowes in my lawsuit for not taking the steps needed to protect my RSMV.

What I need to know about a trailer?
Great adVENTURE replied to Great adVENTURE's topic in Trailer Talk
Thanks for the input, Im going to hold off on the trailer. Going to get the bike setup first and then start off with the harbor freight tag along. Spent hours reading old threads and if all is well with the tag along I'll upgrade to a tent trailer in the future. -

Will definitely support are vendor members as I know first hand your wiring harnesses are top notch M61A1MECH. Looking at Carbon One's Hitch is the existing frame that it bolts to strong enough? -
Great read but needs more pictures.

I have a short time to make a decision on a locally found matrix rover trailer. I have never pulled a trailer so I'm looking for as much guidance as possible. There asking $1,300 for this little gem, is this good? picture is off the website, not actual owner.

Dang! A missed opertunity to meet veturerider's. Yes it is the ikea in Elizabeth. And it was an amazing couple trips with more planned before the end of the season. Edit: just realized you said hometown but live in NJ now. -
+1 on the bad ground. I had a full size led lightbar on my truck that occasionally would be dim and traced it back to a bad ground.

Texting is here to stay unfortunately. But don't worry it will be a lot safer when they iron out all the details with the self driving cars.

Best $30 I ever spent. Didnt even have to trim it to fit, just threw it on and rode off. But I haven't really had enough saddle time with it to tell the difference between sheepskin and a towel. I will post my results back here in a week or so. -

Hope this satisfies the picture police... The maps images were taken from my google maps timeline which tracks my every move. I however starting to notice a hand numbing vibration others were discussing, anyone close by who has a carb sync gauges that are willing to help?
