  1. I got tired of changing my email every time my service provider sold out. So, I switched to gmail and I've been very happy with their service. It works well on mobile devices and as web mail. Dennis
  2. Better than a kiosk, Chick-fil-A has a smart phone app that let's you place your order via your phone, walk in and pick it up. Bypassing the line. Saves time waiting in line too.
  3. Speaking of pet peaves, I have one too. It seems more and more when we're out to dinner the server will ask "what are WE having?" I wonder, are they going to eat with us? Then later i get "what are WE having for dessert?" I want to ask, are you going to help pay for it? Dennis

We dodged a bullet last. The storm stayed 60 miles offshore as it passed Jensen Beach. We only had 70 mph winds.

We've got a winter house on Hutchinson Island. Hope it's still there tomorrow. The last I checked the eye is still about 65 miles out to sea so it's just on the fringe of hurricane force winds.
  6. For the bike this is the tender that I am using. https://www.amazon.com/Yuasa-YUA1201000-Automatic-Battery-Maintainer/dp/B00HZTDKZG Dennis
  7. I like Furkot for trip planning. When I get it right I download a gpx file and copy it to the gps. http://www.furkot.com Dennis
  8. It took me a couple of minutes to get used to it. I use the thumbprint for security when I hit the home button and it starts very quickly. Dennis
  9. Speaking of Ipads and Iphones, have you updated to iOS 10 yet? If not you should. Some nice new features. Just got my Iphone 7 last week and updated my wife's 6s. Dennis
  10. I usually have a web site for my travel photos. Last winter my web hosting company deleted my web site because they changed their software. I immediately signed up with a new hosting company but I just recently got around to rebuilding the site and restoring photos. If you have any interest in our travels out west there are hundreds of photos from Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, California, Idaho, Oregon, New Mexico and places between there and KY. I have more to add as I get time. Here's the link: http://www.traynorphoto.com Dennis
  11. My wife and I tried a travel trailer for 3 winter seasons in Florida. We bought a lot and set the trailer up seasonally. All was fine for the first couple of winters. Then last winter my wife got tired of going to the laundromat. I didn't find it that big of a deal but she sure did. She worked on me all winter to buy a house. I finally caved in April. We sold the lot and trailer (separately) and bought a house in the same park. I call it my $100k washer and dryer. We were in a 36 ft travel trailer with 3 slides. We were very comfortable in it. If you are looking at something larger than about 28ft make sure to get 2 AC units. We did and were glad we did.
  12. Reminds me of an incedent years ago in our model shop. One of the engineers brought in a job to make a model part out of .005" stock with a tolerance of plus or minus .005". The model maker just had to have some fun with that. When the engineer picked up his job he had an empty box with the print inside. When he inquired about his part the model make told him it was in the box made to the low side of the tolerance. He wasn't amused.
  13. I found a few photos of the Heidenau tires from when I changed mine. One shot compares the Heidenau (left) to the original Bushtec branded tire.
  14. Don, I am recalling this from a few years ago when I replaced my tires. My trailer is a 2002 model and has always had tubes. I always carry an extra tube with me. The original tires on my trailer were 8 or 10 ply tires with very stiff sidewalls. The were Bushtec branded tires and were sourced from a Korean or Chinese tire company. At that time, Bushtec lost that source and switched to a Kenda tire with a more standard 4 or 6 plies. And at that time Bushtec still wanted $120 or so per tire. That is why I shopped around found the Heidenau tire which is a German made tire. I just checked the Bushtec site and the tire price has been lowered to $69. Here is a quote from their web site with the tire description. Description This tire has the original Bushtec tread pattern. They are a non-directional Kenda tire. In comparison to past Bushtec tires, they have a considerably longer tread life. OE tire for replacement on your Turbo, Turbo+2, Roadstar, Genesis, Quantum Sport, Quantum GL, Entourage or Tow Tow. NOTE: The Ultimate model requires a 2.50 x 16 tire as it cannot accommodate the 3.00 x 16 tire. Due to variations in tread patterns between the tires offered and the tires you originally purchased, Bushtec recommends that you replace both tires. This also ensures a smooth ride and prolongs the life of the tires.
  15. When I needed to change my tires I found that Bushtec had changed their tires to ones without as strong of a sidewall. Some were switching to a Kenda tire. I was all set to do the same until I found this tire: http://www.cedarrapidstire.com/product/137809/heidenau-k31-vintage-3-00-16-front-rear-k3130016 It has a higher load rating than the Kenda. I've pulled them about 10,000 miles with no problems. Dennis
  16. I've towed a trailer behind my bike for over 40,000 miles. I wouldn't pull more than 300 lbs behind the bike. When I had the RSV I was very concerned about hitch weight. In my opinion the RSV does not have a very strong hitch connection point. Be very careful with panic stops, try to avoid them. Especially on wet roads. The trailer will push the rear around. I now tow a Bushtec trailer with a Goldwing and the trailer has far more capacity than I care to use. I try to keep the total weight to around 250 lbs. Just my opinion and engineering judgement. I know I've seen others tow 500 to 600 lbs. Not me. Dennis
  17. It is a 6x12 that I ordered from Diamond Cargo Outlet and picked it up at the factory in Douglas, GA. Here is a picture of it with the wheels on.
  18. Yes, I'm leaving it unlocked and empty. Like you said, don't make a thief tear it up to find nothing. Dennis
  19. It has a torsion axle and the mounting flange is welded to the frame. It will take some time with a grinder to drop it.
  20. They're resting on blocks.
  21. I just picked up a new trailer to haul my bike to Florida for the winter season and I had to come up with a theft deterrent since I have a corner lot with no fence. With a ball coupler lock I think this should slow the thief down.
  22. My wife and I recently sold our 36ft travel trailer after two winters in it. We bought it to use as a winter home on our lot in Florida. I was very comfortable with spending 4 months a year in it. However, my wife had her fill of going to the laundromat. So in early April I caved in and looked at a small house in our park and we bought it. Damned expensive washer and dryer. We then sold the lot within an hour after posting it on Facebook and sold the trailer within 48 hours on Craigslist. We're back in Florida for a few weeks "moving" from the trailer into the house. We've found that our trailer had more storage than the 750 sq ft house. Patti our trailer was also built by Keystone so maybe we made a good move. Good luck with your repairs.
  23. I agree with Eck. When I had my Venture the only time I felt a loss of power was above 8000 to 9000 feet in the Rockies. You won't encounter any elevations like that in the TN and NC mountains.
  24. Congratulations George. You'll love the Wing. The Venture is a great bike but I find everything with the GW is just more effortless. I'm up to 64,000 trouble free miles on mine. It's nice to approach a hill and not have to downshift to keep from lugging the engine. Good luck with new bike. Dennis
  25. When I had my 2nd gen I too was frustrated by the cruise limits. The problem was that the speedometer was off by about 8 mph at that speed. You set the cruise at 85 and you were actually only setting it at about 77 by the gps. I installed a speedohealer and calibrated the speedometer. After that I could set it 85 and get 85 on the gps. Now if you want to set above that you could alter the calibration factor so that the speedometer would read slow. That way if you're running 90 your speedometer would read 85 and the cruise would set at 85 and the bike would be running 90. But your speedo would be off at all speeds. Dennis
