  1. I would check "I don't know" if it there. Never had the passenger pegs off to know. May have to take a look at that soon.
  2. Good work Skid !! Glad to see your not letting a small thing like that slow you down.
  3. Just read this now. So sorry to hear Don. My condolences to you and Nancy. Take care. See you soon.
  4. Well.....I'm out. Vacation time was booked last November and I can't move it. Have a great time and I'll try to make 'er in 2018.
  5. Thanks. That was my thoughts too, but wondered if maybe I was over looking something. It's a 2004 so I may as well just get some new ones while I'm at it.
  6. My bike is up on the stand legs and covered for the winter. Just noticed that there is a small amount of coolant under her. Looks like it is coming form about the left passenger foot board area. Any ideas where this is coming from?
  7. Thanks ALL !!! My job has changed SKID and I don't think I will be able to get a holiday pick to get to Georgia. After a great time in North Carolina I was planning on it. But who knows....maybe it will be available when my pick comes up. Hope to make some events and see you guys again !!!
  8. I have to book my vacation time next week and looking for dates of rally's. I make the trek to North Carolina this year and was thinking about Georgia in 2017. I see the Western N.Y. date is set. So anybody have some dates for me?
  9. It won't work for me. I have too much to do on Monday (and Saturday and Sunday....lol) Monday we're canning tomatoes sauce and it can't wait until next weekend. Have a great time guy !!!!
  10. yup....need to make plans to stay for Saturday night. It was a great time and awesome band.
  11. Very odd.......I checked and the vent line is clear. I even blew air threw and nothing came out. I checked the vent tube going into the tank and it's clear. So....not much else to do but, ride.
  12. Thanks guys. That was my thought too. Just didn't have time to look at it. I'll just take the hose off and give her a little blast of air to clean it out. I wasn't sure if the vent hose ran into a filter or some other thing Yamaha thought we needed.
  13. On my way back from Asheville my bike quit running. On the side of the highway now....I tied to figure out what happened. I had 3 bars on the gauge and had switched to reserve when she started to sputter. I first wanted to know if the was fuel flow. I took off the fuel line at the petcock and a few drops came out and then nothing. Very odd since I wasn't on reserve when I started issues. Switched to full on and nothing. I put the line back on. Could I possibly be out of fuel? I opened the tank cap and it was like taking the lid off a mason jar. Tried to starter, she fires up and away I go never to have it happen again. Questions are....is this an isolated event? I believe I have a vent tube issue, can I simply blow air in the end to clear it out? I don't know if it runs through ant filter or anything. Suggestions?
  14. what Don said. I just put a E3 on the rear when my Bridgestone was worn out and I love it. Still have the Bridgestone on the front and will put an E3 on when it's done.
  15. Has anybody been able to get a new Dunlop Elite 4? If so what size did you end up getting for the rear? I want to wait for the Elite 4, but will the old rear tire?....lol
  16. To hear about y'all doing spring and summer stuff makes me jealous. Had a fairly mild weekend here in Ontario, Canada, but we are far from riding weather yet. Still below freezing forcasted most days for the next couple weeks anyway. Changed out my fuel filter yesterday and just got my saddle back from Rick too. Added a Utopia backrest 2 weeks ago too. I'm almost ready if the weather would just catch up to my enthusiasm.....lol
  17. saddlebum I had to look and I think it is a 5th gen if that makes sense. It is the most current TomTom Rider out. I had no issues seeing the screen.....so far anyway. Just need to hard wire her in and I'm good to go.
  18. nope. going with the T harness from M16A1MECH. I like the 3 way kuryakin master cylinder switch, but I want power to go off with the ignition. I would probably forget it on and drain the battery. I have nothing else to add that requires more switches as well. Thanks all !!
  19. I like that set up M61A1MECH. I will send you a PM so you can send one out to me. I like the clean look of this ease of install. The less cutting into the harness the better. Thanks.
  20. I purchased a TomTom Rider with the Ram mounting kit, base and hard wiring. It has very little info I can find on wiring it onto the bike, only run the wire to the battery. There is no inline fuse or relay. I don't think this is a problem then. I want to wire it up to only have power when the key is turned on. So the question is....where do I wire it to? The ignition switch? the headlight? I even read somewhere the tail light (which sound silly to me being at the opposite end of the bike) maybe the accessory plug? Please if somebody has done this give me some guidance, before I start to experiment.
  21. Just to add my 2 cents worth....when I'm come to a stop at a light I will continue to hold my brake (front or rear) enough to keep the brake light on. I do this until I am comfortable the car behind me is stopped an KNOWS I am stopped. How many cars have you seen rear ended at lights? I don't trust anybody out there and expect anybody will do the worst around me. Kind of keeps a step ahead when an incident does happen.
  22. I have read lots on the rear end whine others have had on their RSV's. I bought my 2004 last fall with snow on the ground. I bought her with out a test drive. 3 weeks ago I took her to the shop for my government safety. I had a really loud whine that got louder the faster I went. I was not happy, I ended up having to the swing arm bearing for safety as well as the rear brakes and rotor. I added in a rear diff. oil change while they were back there. After I picked up my bike the rear end whine was gone. I can't say what it was that made the radiance. Maybe the swing arm bearings wearing threw the drive out of whack.....or maybe a simple rear oil change. What ever is was I am happy it is gone and I don't have to spend time trying to figure out what is causing it. This is my experience and if it helps somebody, then it was worth the time to submit it.
  23. I just bought ball end's a couple of days ago. I read somebody else say they just loosen theirs and that lets them out of the way enough. Next time I will try that and now with the proper allen keys. Thanks Bert2006
  24. I see this an old thread. I hope somebody will read it and let me know what these spacers are that are mentioned. I bought the bike fall of 2014 and have some sort of spacers on mine now. I still couldn't get the fairing appart without taking off the passing lights. I am thinking it may be because I have a visor on the head light. I did take them off and back on again, but took me about an hour or more just to get the bolts back in with the spacers while holding the passing lights.
