  1. eusa1 I recommend midol lol. Just supporting we all have views and opposing ones should not compete
  2. As an added note look up vgoose's notes about fuel level. really made a difference for me dropping below recommended
  3. I agree with vgoose. The AIS removal I do as a precursor to all fixes however without a wideband or a sniffer you don't know what you have and you are compensating with the AIS. I have 4 pod filters on my 09 venture and it took a lot of trial and error to get the wideband and dyno tests to optimum but I'm running 137.5 mains. Way more performance and fuel than original. And I still get over 40mpg. No 1600 will ever see anything but my taillights. Exhaust leaks at the header and lean mixtures are commonly the problem. Both you can find with a wideband.
  4. I guess the question is it a show and sound game or are you looking to improve performance. Drilling out HD mufflers gives you the look but not the feel and it doesn't give you the required backpressure. To each his own I suppose but I want to outshine other bikes not compare to them
  5. I had the flander bars on my 96 and they made the road scary in the tight turns. Changed then up for a set of barons tour star bars...World of difference
  6. Tried a bunch of exhaust system slip-ons. Settled on the superttrap. Tested idle and added discs till there was no difference in rpm from open to closed then reduced by 2 discs to achieve some minimal backpressure. Once it ran right I pulled some of the internal wrap till it had the deep roar and rumble I was looking for. Priceless
  7. As an addition to the above. I installed KN pod filters on mine with 147.5 mains and 17.5 pilots to get the best AFR and performance. I could pass everything but the pumps, did it ever go compared to stock. I had used Ivan's needles with my own jetting but I had a lean in the midrange I could not get rid of. I bought the factorypro needle set designed for individual filters and adjusted the floats to Yami specs. They were around 6mm on average before adjustment with specs calling for 8-9. My 09 only had 4000 miles on it so I figured they would be good from the factory but as Vgoose said don't trust it. No more midrange lean and the mileage improved but I had lost a little performance. Talked to the tech at factory pro and he insisted I drop the fuel level to 11mm almost 3 mm more than yami specs. I was afraid the bowl would be starving under load but I gave it a shot. Wow no starving fuel economy went up and my performance was amazing again. Yesterdays run at average 65-70mph yielded 43mpg and I wasn't gentle on the twist. My buddies riding the 1600's beside me cant come even close to keeping up to my oversized sofa as they call it. All that to say that better economy may be realized at greater than factory float level specs.
  8. Rick did my seat this past winter and I have only recently been able to try the seat. What an awesome job. Fast and reasonable
  9. I have 8 in the back garage and 3 in the front
  10. Power dist center pic. still need to use the dremel and clean it up but at least its not embarassin
  11. Pic coming for the power distribution center. Having a cassette deck was embarrassing
  12. Front headlight doesn't need the modulator as I use a very High powered led replacement...They see me coming
  13. And the throttle cables and brake lines have been swapped out for braided and I modify a Trucklite LED Brake lite and a home built modulator for under 30 bucks
  14. Back in the day Yamaha used to sell these covers as a kit that I had on my 96RS...When the chrome started to pit I had 2 sets laser cut from the yamaha samples. 3/16 aluminum and I had to shave the edge on the back to accommodate the chamfer of the wheel. The pics only show a first pass at polishing. Wheel be removed again and done right when I do the set for my RS. Jobbed out at 140 per set material in other than the bolts
  15. Don't wanna manage a site just asked a question. Idiots follow leaders lead. no offence
  16. I am just wondering why we restrict to members only? I am with other orgs that do similar but I have questioned the reasoning there as well. Why restrict FB membership. Allowing outsiders to join introduces the website to new members and influences them to join if they like what they see. Not a complaint just a comment
  17. Is there a fitment chart for the corbin seats. I desperately want one, I have it on my 96 RS but I want to look for it used
  18. lol coming pics but at this point just asking if there are other suggestions. I have so many pics
  19. Add to Fabricated and installed front wheel covers to hide the butt ugly cast wheels Stripped and brought to billet front forks and all other aluminum on bike including wheels

  21. Has anybody tried one or established the fit up with the stock rear pad. I really would like to get one but am unwilling to shell out the busks to find out it doesn't fit.
