  1. Bike Bandit has it https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/detail/yamaha/4xy-16150-09-00/b1200808 So does partzilla or they can order it for you https://www.partzilla.com/product/yamaha/4XY-16150-09-00
  2. Bike Bandit advertised it a while back. partzilla can order it for you.
  3. Congratulations! I've been retired for 4 years since 70 1/2. I love it. I have plenty to do to keep me busy.
  4. I read this review of the bike and it does sound impressive. Their asking price does seem high especially if you don't keep it forever. Because if you bought it and put a few thousand miles on it the value would drop way down. https://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/motorcycle-reviews/yamaha/2008-yamaha-warrior-ar47803.html
  5. My sister didn't have the correct information on our nephew's wreck. There was no other vehicle involved. He was driving a tractor trailer and something caused him to leave the road. We don't know why yet, whether it was sleep, stroke, heart attack, or what. He was a big guy and had blood pressure issues. The truck caught fire and he was burned. Very tragic.
  6. Doh! I hooked up the battery tender yesterday and left it overnight. Today, I checked and it was still charging so I removed the seat and hooked up the smart charger. That is when I noticed the ignition key was indeed in the ACC position. Another dumbazz mistake. I can't tell my wife. She never forgets! Ha!
  7. I appreciate the advice. I think one of my old multimeters has the capability to read amps. So, I guess I'll hook it up in series with the battery and see if there is a current leak. Then maybe start pulling fuses. I know very little about my RSV. Where are the fuses?
  8. I got a call from my sister telling me that our nephew, our deceased brother's son was killed in a car accident. The driver of the other vehicle supposedly went to sleep. He was 42 yrs old. His father, my brother, died when he was 42 due to complications from diabetes. You just don't expect something like this to happen. The good news is that when I called my son in LA to tell him about his cousin, one of the things he told me was that he has another grammy nomination for recording and mixing Beyonces' latest album. He already won a grammy award 2 yrs ago for recording/mixing her album "Lemonade".
  9. The old battery went dead with the key out. I did leave the key in the bike since Saturday but it was in the off position. Looks like it has a short somewhere. Could be the ignition switch. I bought an AGM battery from Autozone for my Kawasaki over a year ago and it has been great.
  10. Well, I gotta problem. My brand new battery that I installed last Saturday was dead today. I have not started it since Saturday and I didn't get around to hooking up the battery tender. So, something is killing the battery. Troubleshooting time! Any ideas would be appreciated!
  11. It's amazing that some people will commit a crime in order to save 5 or 6 bucks!
  12. You said they were aftermarket. What brand are they?
  13. Hang in there our friend. We depend on your expertise here too.
  14. All of the motorcycle batteries I've bought in the past had to be charged for a day at 2 amps. Even the first AGM battery I bought which was a Walmart Everstart that was actually made by Yuasa. The acid came separately and it had to be added to the cells and charged for 24 hrs at 2 amps.
  15. It had been 2 or 3 weeks since I started my RSV and the battery was dead. I put my smart charger on it and it said it was at 0% capacity and 2 volts. I started charging it but decided I was beating a dead horse so I went to Autozone a half mile away and bought a new AGM battery for it for $102.99. I was surprised to find out that it was fully charged. Seems like I always had to charge them before. Installed it and it fired up. After running it for a few minutes, I checked the running voltage and it was 14.02 volts at idle an slightly more revved up. After shutting it down, I hooked up the smart charger just to make sure it was fully charged and according to the charger it had 13 volts and was 100% charged. Then I hooked up the pigtail for my Battery Tender and installed the missing rubber pad from partzilla on the seat. The seat rests on about 5 little rubber pads and one had been missing. And installed the new seat hold down nuts I had bought from partzilla. The seat had been held on by one wing nut. Wanted to go for a ride but it started raining. It's about 60 degrees today.
  16. I took a lot of Spam sandwiches to school for lunch when I was a kid in the 50's. My Mom would fry slices a bit to make the sandwiches. Dang, I'm old!
  17. Yeah, they sound great! Good sound without being obnoxious.
  18. If I remember correctly, Spam was one of the canned rations the military ate during WWII.
  19. Yep, the RSV trunk rack is rated for 10 lbs max load. My 07 RSV's trunk rack still has the sticker with the 10lb max load rating on it. The top to bottom "feet" on both sides of the rack are connected by a metal strip.
  20. I've read that marking the nut position to the pinion housing was a good way to retorque. I haven't had the pleasure yet on my 02 F150.
  21. Those vents don't tend to hold up well. It will be hard to find some for sale that are complete and working. My 89 has two perfect ones, but I ain't selling! Ha!
  22. What procedure did you use to retorque the pinion nut?
  23. Talk about no excess design margin!
  24. I remember now. The 4.2 is an excellent engine after the 97 and 98 editions.
