  1. Hey Puc, if you get tired of all that white stuff that keeps you from riding, you can grab a flight down here and we can go for a ride now that I have 2 bikes in the stable.
  2. It is leaking oil from just about every place it can. So I am going to replace all the gaskets, o rings, and crush washers. It still runs like a champ, she just marks her territory everywhere i go.
  3. I am on my lunch break for the MSF ERC. I am surrounded by Harleys. I am the only touring bike. Showing these guys how to turn. Sweeping left hander put my floorboard down. They were all shocked to see me do the figure 8 inside the box. Some of these guys are having issues keeping their sportsters in the lines.
  4. He has a little more expierience then I. I'll catch him. My only issue now is that I have 2 bikes and I like the 1st gen better. So the 2nd gen stays in the garage a lot. I am about to rebuild the motor on the first gen, so the green bike is getting some playing time.
  5. I do a lot of distance riding in the desert, so mine would be my cup holder. Having that Gatorade or vita water as I ride is amazing.
  6. I had a buddy who went down and broke his arm, so I waited with him for the ambulance in the middle of nowhere. I was following them to the Hospital at a high rate of speed when they hit a deer and went over it (I think it was already dead). I saw it in just enough time to aim my 2006 R6 at its kneck. So I ramped a deer. I always stay back from vehicles now.
  7. Glad to hear y'all are enjoying the trike as much as I am loving the 84. The only reason i ride the 01 now is when the 84 is low on gas and I am in a hurry up until last week. The small little leak on the kickstand (clutch slave cylinder) became a big leak (my aggressive riding style quickened that death). I'll replace it soon and be back on the road in no time. Thanks again for everything. I am glad we both found bikes we can love.
  8. It is all preference. I would trade my 02 for my 84 in a heart beat. To me, the 84 is more comfortable for long and short rides. Plus she is fast and beautiful.
  9. I have a gauge style carb sync tool if you want to come use that sometime. You can also compare the sounds and ride of yours to my 84. Slightly different motor, but they should act the same.
  10. That day was fun. That ride would have been a lot more spirited if I had already had my '84. Even with the '01, it was a good pace ride.
  11. Congrats to both of you. I can't believe the 34 years though, that would have made her 4 or 5 years old when ya'll got married. Talk about a cradle robber. Love you two - Coffey
  12. If I only lived closer, I could loan you one of mine. I think 1,000+ miles on a venture towing a venture might be a disaster.
  13. I don't have cable. I have watched all 6 seasons so far, but do not know how to watch this season. I wish there was a legal way to stream it on line.
  14. I only get 1 kitchen pass for a long trip in 2015, so having the venture rally line up with sturgis would be great.
  15. Praise The Lord; good to hear the great news.
  16. welcome to the forum Hatleyrocket. Hope you find all the info on here and get out to some of the meets. they are a blast. all the guys on here are great, most of them are nuttier than squirrel crap, but great none the less.
  17. So I finished redoing all of the electrical work on my first gen. Took some before and after pictures. Before the pictures I would like to teach a little about electrical work. 1. When using zip ties, do not pull them too tight, and do not kink or bend the wires 2. If you use solider, file down the sharp edges if there are any. They will cut through and contact other wires. 3. Try to make everything water proof. 4. Lastly don't use liquid tape on anything. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/E60E3816-8B6A-48DB-9967-A88EE40E56C3_1.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/9793811D-CAA1-44DA-9042-7FD91956EE0B_2.jpg This is after the fix. I was lazy and used butt connectors and electrical tape. I can guarantee nothing will short out in here. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/AB37FFEA-D077-4C81-92C5-694FAC261B4B.jpg I took her out for a ride today and got back and still had a tail light.
  18. True. The 3rd gen will come much later when they are affordable.
  19. Nope gotta keep the ones I have. I do need to eventually add an MKII to my stable...for comparison.
  20. Mine looks like a parts bike right now. I am redoing to wiring to aftermarket lights and horns, and to the fuse box. I should get her pinned back up tonight. Getting back on the green one this morning was weird. I almost missed the right side floor board completely. The whole thing just seemed short and very tightly put together. It was a boat during low speed maneuvers.
  21. They are truly 2 different bikes. One is a touring bike, and the other is a sport tourer or as Dave out it a sport bike with bags.
  22. You got the names mixed. I guess I have too many bikes to keep track of. Genisis is the 1st gen, Exodus is my fat green lady. I don't think I can refer to Genisis as a lady after how she treated those Rocky Mountains. That is where I fell in love with her.
  23. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/4F6B645D-A382-4DB0-9075-887C05A0BBFD.jpg http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j169/coffeyR6/Mobile%20Uploads/23D02B46-10EE-441E-893C-1628296B188C.jpg They seem to be getting along so far.
  24. Made it home. It's 1:03 local time. Going to bed.
  25. Fuse blew again, a Utah highway patrolman was nice enough to pull me over and let me know:whistling: so I finished the trip to st George Utah with my hazards on. Upon further review of the wiring, I am very lucky to be only missing tail lights. I'll post pics when I get some time to fix all the wiring.
