After double checking rear tire condition, air pressures and exhaust system contact to frame issues,, I would proceed to video 1 and if that didnt help I would look into video 2.. If you open it up to check the drive shaft u-joint, also double check drive shaft connections for fracture at the stem nut.. I never encountered a fracture on my 1st Gens but, if memory serves, @videoarizona had a fracture that resulted in the a similar vibration to a bad u-joint and that sounds like what you may be experiencing = IMHO of course..

Electric. Digital. Computerized. Throttle Body Sync
cowpuc replied to Du-Rron's topic in Watering Hole
I had a twin-max digital for years in the shop that we LOVED because of it's precision. It was very accurate and I was always amazed at how, after syncing with mercury or vacuum gauges then following up with digital the digital showed inaccuracies of the others.. GREAT for that finish fine tune IMHO.. GOOD find Duey!! -

Hanging in there brother,, Tip and I are baby sitting our 2 year old grandson for the weekend,,, life in the FAST lane for sure... He can JUST reach light switches now and we worked all day on turning the hallway lights on/off (now I KNOW why those two way switches were created ).. Wonder what the life expectancy is on those switches? Back at cha ya Puc

Not as well known as the Hickster for testing different shooters but still pretty cool when talking ammo and stuff:

It may but the OEM Pt numbers are different, no idea how different the actual parts are but this may, or may not, assist in getting an answer from someone with no clue Take a peek: RSV = https://www.yamahapartsnation.com/oemparts/a/yam/5073365ff8700218e05b9042/front-brake-caliper Liner = https://www.yamahapartsnation.com/oemparts/a/yam/5073365ff8700218e05b9042/front-brake-caliper

Tip, Tweeks, Maggie, Trooper and Puc are hiding behind a great big Lake Michigan sand dune so unlike Fool's ability to use artillary "fire for effect" techniques in his ongoing attempt to bury us in Wisconsin White Wash,,,, spying on us with radio signal transmissions would not work cause of no line of sight,,,, :rasberry::moon: neighbor to the west!!!

Indian Unveils Liquid-Cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin
cowpuc replied to leo3wheel's topic in Watering Hole
You and all you other lop eared long distance CTFW, always looking for answers varmints are welcome too Vaz.. It's ALWAYS fun scoots and the technology/engineering that goes into producing em.. There is a TON of info in that article but one of things that caught my eye was this: “The market has definitely evolved since then,” Wilson said. “And we make sure to evolve with it. A major element is the value riders now put on performance—the market for it is growing.” That line was definitely the opposite direction that Mom Yam received from the market segment they studied and the info they received from such.. It will be interesting to see now, once this new Polaris is released, if the move to toward higher numbers on the dyno will result in higher sales tragectories. Only time will tell I guess.. I gotta hunch that if it does so (sales increase) that that is when we will hear a giant "OOPPSSS" from the mothership Personally, I really enjoyed the overall "parts and pieces" aspect of the article,, questions and answers concerning why water cooling and the engineering behind the move... DEFINITELY interesting!! -
I know less about antenna's then I do even motorcycles but cant help but wonder if a directional antenna mounted on top of an old school tower with an old school rotor assembly who's movement is controlled by one of those old school rotor control boxes from inside the house would not be the answer Fool... Maybe the ability to "swing the beams" to "tune out" the interference would do it... ,,, could dress the tower up to look like an ICWWDS (Inter Continental White Wash Delivery System)

Just scored this additional read on Leo's thread here,,, one that I thought My Lop Eared Brothers Of The Wrench Varmint friends may really enjoy... It's lengthy but very refreshing in a Brotherhood of the Wrench sort of way... @videoarizona ,,, I noticed you been following this,,, I gotta a hunch that you too may REALLY enjoy this = may wanna take a peek brother!! https://www.cycleworld.com/inside-indians-new-powerplus-108-v-twin/ -

Here is a really good read from Skydoc 17 on the subject matter.. I know this work was on the MK2 but it is my understanding its the same mount.. Maybe @skydoc_17 could shed some light on it,,, heyyy Earl,,,,, :sign67: Anyway,, here is his thread: https://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?27170-VR-to-R1-Brake-Swap-Part-1!&highlight=brake+upgrade

Concerns about my V4 engine
cowpuc replied to Jose.diaz12B's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I am with Sky on this,, I bench tested (by actually soaking carbs and monitoring the cleaning process) numerous products and SeaFoam actually came in last... His advice is note worthy IMHO.. Berryman's Chem Dip came in first place but it is not an additive.. -
Indian Unveils Liquid-Cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin
cowpuc replied to leo3wheel's topic in Watering Hole
I see a LOT of potential for just pulling the air cooled V-twin and stuffing in the 1700cc V-4 Big Block without a whole lot of overall design change,,, probably wouldn't have to even skip a year of production!!! Make those gorgeous fake Fighter Jet scoops fully functional,,, top 1/3 for intakes to feed the Big Block and the lower sections for radiator inputs.. Maybe drop in some stiffer front boingers so when some lop eared young at heart VR member varmint comes down off a 3rd gear wheelie it dont bottom out the suspention and leave fork fluid on the road for all the other touring bikes following it to slip on.. :checkeredflag::checkeredflag: -
Indian Unveils Liquid-Cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin
cowpuc replied to leo3wheel's topic in Watering Hole
:rotf: ,, I wonder if the Big Block 1700cc V-Max motor tuned down to 175 horse and stuffed into a touring bike configuration could be made to comply with Euro regs ... You know, something that no other manufacturer could even come close to competing with .. -
please help, what would you do?
cowpuc replied to made2care's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You are welcome my friend,, YOU DID IT = YOU EARNED IT brother!!! I can not WAIT to follow along on your adVentures as you uncover the real reason that many of us still consider that particular model of touring bike the perfect long distance touring machine!!! Looking forward to vicariously riding with you and enjoying the ongoing the ongoing saga of Maddy and his gorgeous Blonde steed!!! Puc -
Indian Unveils Liquid-Cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin
cowpuc replied to leo3wheel's topic in Watering Hole
 Good catch brother and thanks for the reminder!! In the spirit of bike chit chat and in the love of such,,,, I now can't help but wonder if the SVTC was/is built for the U.S. market,,, does that extend to the Canadian market too or is Canada gonna follow the Euro specs/regulation starting in January?? Reports from those above the northern border were reporting sell-out status of the SVTC right from the get go, seems like Mom Yam would find a way around the Euro regs instead of losing that market if Canada is following Euro specs:think:.. -

Indian Unveils Liquid-Cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin
cowpuc replied to leo3wheel's topic in Watering Hole
Looks like Polaris is putting their new "108" in a fixed fairing bagger to start with (unless my eyes are deceiving me,, geezer eyes can do that ya know )... Be wayyyyyyy cool if my favorite bike tester/reporter of all time,, my dear brother @VentureFar ,, could get his hands on one when they are released and do one of his Ultimate reports for us!!!! -
Indian Unveils Liquid-Cooled PowerPlus 108 V-twin
cowpuc replied to leo3wheel's topic in Watering Hole
You two lop eared varmints had the same thoughts as I,,, makes one wonder if Mom Yam's fall back to the old school flat tappet, push rodded, air cooled SVTC was a short term plan right from the onset,,,, or is the new Venture built compliant to the new standards/with the new standards in mind and found a way to overcome the ills that air cooled bikes may have with maintaining compliance... It will really be interesting to see how it all plays out,,,, same for HD.. Definitely a GOOD read Leo!! It does show that Polaris is in it for the long haul IMHO,, Polaris must be doing OK with their Indian line sales wise!!! Those dyno numbers on this new "108" sound worthy, cant wait to see how they run! I know that the 1200cc HD V-Rod (not the smaller 1000cc 1st one) my buddy had ran pretty good and could almost keep up with my 85 V-Max thru the gears. Maybe HD will fall back on the water cooled V-Rod motor and adapted it into a touring scoot... Really interesting,, THANKS LEO FOR POSTING THIS! -
