The Tooch

Some of you may not really care but a few of you know I'm doing a trip with a group of other retired guys that I ride with this summer. We are leaving May 24th and won't be back until sometime early July. We are leaving our return date open ended as we don't want to feel any pressure along the way that we have to be home by a certain date. The only thing we want to do is be down in the south in June to avoid the real heat. We also have to be in Las Vegas to meet one of our guys who is flying down to meet us & renting a bike. (He was going to ship his bike but renting is cheaper.) He may have to hang out in Vegas a day or two waiting. Or we may get there early and have to wait for him. This is is the reason I won't make it to MarCarl's meet, MD and might not be back for the Canadian rally. My friend Steve has worked at setting up a blog for our trip which shows our planned route and some possible alternates. (Sorry fella's the pass is snowed in.) The stuff he has posted so far and tests he's done for video look pretty good. If anyone is interested in following along with our progress and wants to see picture and videos. Hey Cowpuc You've been talking about how you miss building your own choppers.....well I never did build one myself....and I'm really starting to miss MY choppers.....so how about you do this build for me.......and we can scratch both those itches we seem to be having. It would be so awesome.....

Beats me! Never saw such a thing on my 05 or the 13. Sounds like an add on....is it attached to the bike or is it a little remote, just sitting there? Had a small remote control for a car stereo once just had volume up and down buttons. Took a watch battery for power. How about is there air shocks on the trike kit with a compressor wired in somewhere? What's the trike kit?

Actualy I had a bunch but I guess there must be something about stuff falling off on Wizzard765's road. Cause he's coming to my place to take most of it off my hands. Freebird has grabbed a few goodies as well. I'll let you know if I got anything left in about 2 weeks after the Wiz & XV1100SE finish picking through the boxes.

Well I'm going to put something out there on this topic.......no doubt get me in trouble with the boss. After a wrote off my 05 RSV I grabbed all the parts I could before the Ins Co took it away, so I'd have some spare parts for my 2013 RSV that I was replacing it with. Well I traded in my 13 and bought my new Super Tenere, now gots some parts I don't need. I have the light bar spacer and a set of OME deflectors with the mounts and bolts off the 05. If anybody wants them. You pay the shipping or wait and pick them up at MD or the WNY rally if your going to either. PM me. 1st come 1st served. Spacer spoken for......deflectors still out there.

Is it possible that the gas cap wasn't or isn't seating properly or you have an air leak somewhere else in your fuel system? Gas evaporates very quickly. faster than most of us would imagine. Actually that's what it is suppose to do, turn from a liquid into a gas when exposed to air. I know, you know all this Fool. Is your shed well vented and if it is quite some time between your last visit to the shed?Would you notice much of a gas smell? Just thinking out loud here...... Alien's looking for an alternate fuel source to return home!?

It does amaze me how many people seem to live by the rule, "If you turn the key and it starts, your good to go!" They never check fluid levels, tire pressure or ware, check or service filters, adjust or tighten loose or worn parts and brakes.....you mean they ware out?! They walk and drive among us....... Somehow they do know you have to put gas in it.

Sorry for your loss Marca and Carl. Sincerest condolences to your family.

Thanks for that stuff on the locks Don. I had actually done some research on the Tenere before I went looking and had read the boxes had trouble with the locks. But Yamaha knows it and doesn't even question if a customer complains. Before I left the dealership Yamaha had said they would replace the whole box and ship a new one. The dealer just has to set up and match the cylinder for the one key system. Hey I can explain officer....the wind blew off my glove.....Ya that's it....my glove blew off and landed on the plate.....no I didn't know the 407 Highway was a photo-toll road!
