Jus Monkeyin Around Posted August 11, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) Just bought an 86 Royale was told carbs were rebuilt ha took them off they were not so I took them apart and cleaned them put it all back with no extra parts I get it to idle at 1000 rpms but im getting popping and back fireing please help. Jus Monkeyin Around Posted August 11, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted August 11, 2008 Thank you did not see any pinholes just checked to see if seated correctly seems to be ok now maybe it was just still some gunk in fuel line ran 1/2 tank now seems to be better still running rich thou. now my suspension computer reads E4 and it is not working anyone know what that code is?? Redo them...this time do all the pins in the thing...both boards. I had to on mine...second time I didnt even bother looking for bad ones...I just did em all. Worked great. I had to on mine...second time I didnt even bother looking for bad ones...I just did em all. Worked great. YES! I find that half of the CLASS controllers are fixed by doing only the connector pins. Most of the others that still don't work will if you carefully redo every single pin on that board. It is not that hard, but please make sure you aren't doing it with a soldering gun but a lower wattage (40-75W) pencil iron. Some of the other other components on the board might get damaged if you get things too hot. Good luck. While it is no guarantee, I will repeat again that these CLASS BOARD problems seem to be caused by component connnections not component failures.
