Silver Bullet Posted June 19, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 19, 2008 I have a small problem with my trailer wireing. my lights all work -the turn and brake lights all work, but when I have the turn signal on, the brake lite over rides the turn signal on the trailer.I am just wondering what's up with that???? :confused24:

sarges46 Posted June 20, 2008 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2008 Bad modulite? Its rare but known to happen. Stupid question here....can the 1157 bulbs be put in wrong?
greg_in_london Posted June 20, 2008 Share #6 Posted June 20, 2008 Check the earth again. I don't know what a modulite is, but do you have a separate earth through the tow plug, or does it earth via the chassis and tow ball ?
MiCarl Posted June 20, 2008 Share #7 Posted June 20, 2008 I've never worked with a modulite, but it sure sounds wired wrong to me. Sounds like the brakes are wired to the turn signals and vice versa.
Tom Posted June 20, 2008 Share #8 Posted June 20, 2008 I used a modulite but made for a trailer with LED lights,IT SAID,I havnt a clue if that made a difference or not, but mine is working perfect and all I did was wire it per instructions that Freebird has posted in the Tech section. Marcarl Posted June 21, 2008 Share #9 Posted June 21, 2008 Make sure you didn't cross up the wires going to the lights, both sides need to be wired to the same color. You may have got one side wrong.

Freebird Posted June 21, 2008 Share #11 Posted June 21, 2008 Don't discount the fact that the Modulite could be bad. They do seem to have a quality control issue. I know of several who have gotten bad ones and I think that Cougar went through 2 or 3 of them before he finally got a good one.
