N3FOL Posted March 18 Author #351 Posted March 18 Good morning to all. Frigid temps this morning in the mid 20's. Have a great day!
N3FOL Posted March 19 Author #352 Posted March 19 Happy Thursday morning to all! There you go...tomorrow it is.
Freebird Posted March 19 #353 Posted March 19 That being said, when is going to warm up. We had two nice days last week when I could have gone for a ride but was busy. Yesterday it was 16 and snowing. Mostly gone now but everything is wet. 2
N3FOL Posted March 19 Author #354 Posted March 19 Hi Don. I remember going to your house long time ago and being that close to the great lakes probably has its pros and cons. As far as two beautiful days a week ago, I managed to get a ride in on my RSV. I can't wait to do a safety check on the SVTC and ride to and from work this weekend since I got called in once again to cover for a colleague. Weather next week in our area according to our local weatherman is seasonal in the 50s, so the warm up is not really coming fast enough. Hopefully next week, we hope to hear something from you that you were able to get a ride in on your Harley. Good evening to all.
N3FOL Posted March 20 Author #355 Posted March 20 Good morning to all! I am going to take a power nap. Enjoy your Friday.

Haven't seen you post on this thread for awhile! I'm terrible about lurking and not actually saying anything. We need more people like you out there! Hope everything is going well! 1
N3FOL Posted March 31 Author #357 Posted March 31 Hello and Good evening. I've been around, but have been working too much. Over the last two weeks, I've always been called in to work over the weekend and has been steadily busy at work and at home. Most of the time, I am around but was fighting a head cold last week and wasn't up to par. Now, I am much much better and this week is my Spring break vacation. Not really going anywhere...simply working around the house and cleaning up after a harsh winter season. Today and tomorrow, we have contractors replacing all of our old windows so it has been active in the homefront. Great to hear from you and keep in touch with everyone here. I'll be around tomorrow and no riding yet until I get to do my first grass cut. Have a great Tuesday!
Chaharly Posted March 31 #358 Posted March 31 Glad to hear that things are good and you're over your headcold. No idle hands for you I suppose. Its been busy around here too. Still going to school, I have 6 classes left until graduation, I just took a Certified Survey Technician Level 2 test for work which was 4 hours long and I'm working on getting my Part 107, SUAS drone license, so I feel your business. 1
N3FOL Posted April 2 Author #359 Posted April 2 Best of luck on your journey towards success. Your skillset is highly desirable and you will never run out of options. I remember talking to a fellow amateur radio operator and he was talking about being certified to fly drones. I really looks to be a lot of fun to fly drones. Take care and hope you get the chance to put some ride in despite your busy schedule.
sleepy2 Posted April 2 #360 Posted April 2 tried to enter this elsewhere but couldn't! Want to try and test stator and voltage regulator as bike hasn't been charging like it should (carry spare battery in saddle bag)! Looked up in maintenance area and pretty sure my tester doesn't have same settings needed to test right. What settings can I use on this tester. Think I need one for AC test. Any help! 1
N3FOL Posted April 2 Author #361 Posted April 2 Your meter looks like it can measure AC and Resistance. From what I can remember and read, measure resistance (usually at 200 Ohms) between the different phases of the stator...Phase 1, 2 and 3 and off course the AC voltage between the wire terminals by which documentation should measure between 40 to 70 volts. Documentation online states to check your manufacturers specs to compare what you get. It is recommended to check the bike's service manual for the correct specs. I've never done it, but just be careful. Best of luck. 1
N3FOL Posted Thursday at 11:35 AM Author #362 Posted Thursday at 11:35 AM Good morning to all. I’ve been riding since Monday. So good to be on two wheels running errands and commuting to and from work. This morning is SVTC day. Ride safe all.
sleepy2 Posted Thursday at 04:47 PM #363 Posted Thursday at 04:47 PM Snowed here in Woodstock Ontario Canada yesterday, not alot just enough to almost cover grass and road! Salt trucks were out in my area of town and left just enough salt on the road to leave a strip on our corners, snow was gone by lunch now there is mess on the road! 1
N3FOL Posted Thursday at 10:26 PM Author #364 Posted Thursday at 10:26 PM I pray that mother nature brings some rain showers in the forecast and you'll be able to ride in the near future. Hopefully next week will be better for you weatherwise.
Woody Posted Friday at 08:57 PM #365 Posted Friday at 08:57 PM we run out a tank of gas today, was going to follow a route that I hadn't ridden in a long while and ended up missing it somewhere so we just followed the front wheel. It was a good ride but I'm glad it was just Trina and I. 1
N3FOL Posted Friday at 10:23 PM Author #366 Posted Friday at 10:23 PM You know it is always nice to have someone with you, if you run out of gas. This way you have someone to push the bike. 1
Woody Posted yesterday at 12:46 PM #367 Posted yesterday at 12:46 PM ok ok I didn't run out of gas, I used a tank full of gas but yawl know what I meant
N3FOL Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM Author #368 Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM I apologize. I am a little slow. 1
