After much research, I believe the best now is the Fram XG 7317 which is a 20,000 mile filter. It's not at all like the cheaper starter Fram filter that has gotten all the bad reports. I use it now on my '18 Eluder and will on my Road Star. I did a lot of checking around and comparing a bunch of other brands/models before choosing this since, I too, had been using the old Purolator Pure One.

Since the Purolator oil filters have been redesigned and no longer work on the RSV. What is a good filter to use now.

That is true. I really am disappointed with Purolator. I have been a steady customer for them until the threads will not line up anymore. I ended up with 2 useless Purolator oil filters. At any rate, I switched to the FRAM ph6017 motorcycle filter and have been using it with no complaints at all.

I'm using KIA 26300-2Y500. Got a 10 pack on ebay for $48 Looks just like a Yamaha OEM filter. Crosses over to a Fram MC filter PH 6017

The Fram PH6017 is a motorcycle filter. If you are into Fram stuff, try their CAR filter TG or XG 7317

Fram PH6017 is available at Wallyworld and works well.

Yeah but... it is a cheaply made motorcycle filter. I do my shopping at Wallyworld also and they have the much better Fram CAR filter XG or TG 7317 filter.

Wallyworld also now stocks (at least mine does) the much superior Hyundia/Kia filter made by Mann Hubble which also costs less than the 6017

Perhaps, but it has given me 162,000 miles without a hiccup (dino oil too). Doesn't burn any oil (had to add a smidge after a long run at 90 MPH - main tank and a 5 gal aux tank).

The Kia/Hyundai filter is intriguing though. Will look for it next time.

So are you saying the TG 7317 will fit our RSV?

At any rate, just came from Wally Mart. I physically verified that both filters have similar size except the length. 7317 is longer than 6017. Same price as well. [emoji362]

See if you can exchange them for another brand. The Bosch has the same problem so I traded my extras in for Mobil One.

I was using them on all of my vehicles. I won't any longer.

I still have two for my VTX1300R. They still work on it. I still do not understand them changing without at least putting a letter after the number or better change the number.

WIX 51356, NAPA Gold 1358, Mobil 108 I do not know what the number is for the longer one. I used to use the longer Pure One on my VTX and RSV

Go over to the other site Yamaha Venture and Tour Deluxe site. There is a good list of filters that fit. BTW that site will be unsupported in February. I hope someone takes it over. I am too computer ignorant to do it.
