Also you will have to pay parking in the French Quarter hotels. The casinos are not too bad but if you don't gamble the parking fees will eat you up. jfoster Posted November 19, 2012 Share #6 Posted November 19, 2012 (edited) The Marriott and the Sheraton are both on Canal St. at the edge of the French Quarter, you really dont want to stay in the French Quarter, it stinks like piss and stale beer, and noisy as all get out. 2nd the Marriotts and Sheraton...there's also a Holiday Inn that's ok, but your gonna spend $90-130 and for the $ I stay at the Marriotts. I personally prefer to stay within walking distance due to the traffic and lack of parking if they make me go down there! There's a lot of neat stores and good restaurants in that area, too. Self Distruct!!! Last time I was there, the city comes thru every morning with street sweepers and pressure wash the streets. They really put an effort to keeping it clean. Nice and within walk of the FQ. and about the same distance from the casinos in the other direction. google map it and see where things are.
