Schlepporello Posted February 24, 2010 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2010 A friend of mine, who no longer rides, gave me a "Goodyear Racing" branded motorcycle jack. It's been a year or two since he's used it and he lost all the instructions that came with it. It's operation seems easy enough with the exception that I can't seem to make it go up. Anyone got an idea of what I might be doing wrong or at least have a scan of the manual that was supposed to come with this jack? Thanks in advance! As far as I'm able to determine, I mash down on the big pedal repeatedly to raise the bike, then press the little pedal to drop it. See if you can find this (it's usually on the top of the cylinder) and remove it. It might make a sucking sound as there could be a vaccume inside it. Freebird Posted February 24, 2010 Share #9 Posted February 24, 2010 It has the large pedal to raise and the small one to lower, then I would agree that either the plunger on the small pedal is not coming back out or there is a bad seal or something on that small valve. They typically have either the small pedal OR the valve that screws in and out to lower but not both. Since yours has the small pedal, it won't have the screw valve. They typically have either the small pedal OR the valve that screws in and out to lower but not both. Since yours has the small pedal, it won't have the screw valve. I usually keep that kind of stuff. Doesn't sound like a problem that the manual would help with though. Anyone remember if it's one of those models you have to push the pedal all the way down, for it to drop gradually. Motorcycle Mike Posted February 24, 2010 Share #19 Posted February 24, 2010 I have one. The farther you push the pedal the faster it drops. It works fine untill the fluid leaks out of it. I cant find a replacement jack or seals to repair it so it is stored in the shed out back and I bought a Craftsman pro jack. I cant find the owners manual either.
