Clubs

Venture clubs abound with big meetings every year in the US and Europe with most countries having national clubs. The web brought about many online clubs. VentureRider.org http://www.venturerider.org is the largest and most active of these clubs with members worldwide and regular meetings (VentureIns) and more informal get-togethers throughout North America and Europe. It also has a great technical resource for all model years as well as a classifieds area for those looking to buy and/or sell.

Other online clubs have strong followings. Venturers, http://www.venturers.org has regular meetings (Rallies) and informal get-togethers

Meets

The 2007 VentureRider International Rally was held July 9th - 13th in Fort Collins Colorado.

The 2008 VentureRider International Rally was held July 7th - 10th in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. http://www.venturerider.org/irally/

The 2009 VentureRider International Rally was held August 3rd - 6th at The Hub in Marble Falls, Arkansas.

The Pork in the Pines pig roast is a VentureRider.org rally held annually over Labor Day weekend near La Porte, MN http://www.porkinthepines.com

Well...it is pretty well written and I would be proud to take credit for it but unfortunately, I can't. I did create and write the original Wikipedia article but it was later updated and eventually completely re-written by another member here. He did a very good job.

It would have been nice to have listed all the major events that have been hosted since the beginning..............not the M&E's but all the Rallies, MD's, & the list would be long!!! In fact I would like to see a comprehensive list of all the major events and their years..............I bet it would be 30 or more.

Personally I think it's only adequate. It doesn't really sound all that encyclopedic, more like something written by a guy who usually writes on forums. :) You can see who's written what by checking the history tab.

The Wikipedia Yamaha Venture page links to five pages about the bikes with the V-4 engine.

We're running into issues over the club part. I had to pare it down because the upper editors were not happy. Apparantly it was becoming more of an article about the clubs than one about the bikes. We kind of have to walk a fine line on that one or they'll pull my/our/the chain. Someone who didn't register as an editor has added a paragraph about STAR, complete with phone number, on the Royal Star page. I don't exactly care but I'm back to worrying about getting leaned on by the folks above. I don't want them to gut the whole thing.

The stuff about the European clubs has been added by others. I don't want to step on that. I can remove the "and Europe" from the VentureRider paragraph, since I don't know of any meets in Europe.
