Fitting Harley mirrors on a RSV

Chinto

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried the split mirrors? The ebay link below shows an example of what I am talking about. So far I have only found them to fit a Harley. It seems like it would add a lot of extra viewing area. Has anyone mounted a Harley fitting mirror on their RSV? What is necessary to make the conversion? These mirrors do not appear to have any Harley branding on them so it wouldn't cause any goofy questions or comments.

Harley mirrors are standard thread and the threaded hole for connecting them on the RSV is Metric.

You would need a conversion piece with a male metric end to a female standard end of the same thread size the mirrors are.

I have seen the Harley made version which are identical to these. When they come out of the package the mirror needs to be turned 180 degrees so the the convex part of the mirror is on the outside of the stem instead of on the inside like in the photo. The dimensions given on the ebay listing are 9" long x 4.25" high with mirror face of 5" x 2". I will check the measurements on my stock mirrors to compare sizes. Thanks

There are several adapters available. They all look a bit different so you'll want to shop around. 5/16 to 10mm.

A quick Google brought up these:

Harbers Cycle . com (Arkansas) sells oversize mirrows for $20.00 a pair. They list on ebay. I live 15 miles away so I just drove over and made the puchase. I noticed that when I wore my leathers I really could not use the stock mirrows but the new mirrows work great.
