    Buffing Out Scratches

What is the best way, and what is the best product to use, to buff out light scratches on the trunk and side bags, etc. Never had to do this until now and don't want a product that's going to harm the paint or finish (for plastic). Thanks in advance.

    RejeX

Who else has tride this product? I Use RejeX on the windshield, mirrors, chrome and paint on my bikes and cages. One product does it all. It was developed for the US Military for use on helicopter canopies, and it works GREAT!!!!!!!!! http://www.corrosionx.com/gifs/Rejex.jpg Click the bottle above to go to CorrosionX’s web site!!!!! GET some by clicking HERE Or you might try your local True Value Hardware store!!!!!!!!!! I buy at least two bottles at a time to save on shipping. I use it on all my cages and bikes.... paint, glass, and hard plastics to include bike windshields and the headlight housings on my cages..... This is the BEST product I have EVER used, and I have tested MANY products over the years. This is GREAT STUFF!!!! Goes on easy, comes off easier and protects for a long time!!!!!!
  3. I don't understand Yamaha Corp. I had wanted to take a look at a new Venture just to get a better idea of the bike, in person. Of course they didn't have one, nor did they have a new RSTD. (If memory serves, I didn't see a Vmax either) I stop by there periodically and thinking about it, it struck me that they never have either one of them. They have a full spread of crotch rockets and V-twin cruisers, but no RSVs or RSTDs. Now I should note that this is one of those consolidated dealers, where if they can get the licensing they'll sell it. So the place has Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda and Kawasaki bikes of all sorts. They have a Concourse 1400; they have one (maybe two) ST1300s; they ALWAYS have a Goldwing or two. Then there there are the innumerable 4wheelers, jet-skis and dirtbikes. Since I was the to see my friend in parts, I was talking about my observation and their lack of "our" kind of bikes. He said they only get about 2 a year! 2!! So I'm thinking to myself, WHY? More importantly, why would they license a store that clearly doesn't represent their product well, in an environment where they can easily slide a customer into the high-priced spread of any one of their competitors? I clearly don't get it! It wouldn't make sense to allow the store to completely dictate the inventory for their brand at the expense of their flagship model. Or is this Yamaha short supplying their product? I dont know. I disagreed with the multiple brand dealerships when some car sales went that way, and I disagree with it for bikes, especially when they don't even keep a sampling of the entire line on the floor. That's not to say they have to have one of every color and different ones with different options. On top of that, the closest shop that has test rides is about 60 miles away. Are RSV and RSTD sales so limited that they just keep them in the mix for apperances? Clearly, they haven't been making the changes & upgrades that have been discussed here so many times before. It's almost like they don't want to really "compete" in the touring market. I learned a lot from my mentor about sales in my first job, that sticks with me to this day. (1) Know your product and know it well; and (2) if you want to sell them, you have to have them to sell. Point of sale and emotion play a large part and neither can come into play if you don't even have the product to sell (or in our case, to buy) So, whoever it was that was taking notes for Yamaha, send them this one too. What ever. I'm tired and I'm going to bed.

  7. I am considering electrifying my liner that I have with my leather jacket. Anyone have experience with this product? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wiring-Kit-for-Heated-Clothing-Vest-Jacket-garment-WP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6750QQihZ010QQitemZ200161207116QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Iowa Guy
  8. This past sunday I was riding my bike home from my dad's and I had the front right spark plug blow out of the cylinder. After talking to squidley, he said that we can heli coil it. So I went in search of info of what I need to do... and I came across a product called Time-Sert. I wanted to find out if anyone here has had experience with this product and what their opinions are compared to HeliCoil.
  9. I tried SeaFoam in my ’99 RSV this week. After seeing the rave revues of the product here in the forum I said “Why not?” Within 15 miles I felt a noticeable increase in power. My records indicate that I had been averaging just over 37 mpg. On the first tank with SeaFoam I got 40 mpg and on the next tank without SeaFoam I got just over 40 mpg. I talked with my friend Scott Bartley of Knuckleheads Motorcycle Center, an independent sales, repair and self-service shop, here in Chambersburg, PA. He deals mainly in used motorcycles and aftermarket parts. He tells me that one of the first steps in preparing a used cycle for sale it adding SeaFoam to the fuel, especially one that has been setting for a while. What a great product, thanks to all the forum members for relating their stories about it. When I talked to Scott yesterday he recommended another product that the forum members should be aware of. Has anyone tried Bike Brite? Just spray it on and hose it off with a strong stream. I was amazed by how it made the chrome, paint and vinyl shine. The windscreen needed a quick wipe with a soft towel to remove the last of a weeks worth of bugs and I just towel dried the rest. I am as impressed with it as I am Sea Form. You can contact Scott for more info about Bike Brite at “bikeknuckleheads@aim.com”
