  1. I have one but haven't used it as yet...I have heard that you can carry them in a shirt, vest or jacket pocket and they will read from there...I also read on a Harley forum about people putting them on the inside lid of their trunks or saddle bags...I have stored my on the inside cover of my trunk...to avoid somebody carrying it off...I might try to see if it will read from there if not I guess I'll stick it in a pocket when I'm planning to use it. :backinmyday:ODJ >
  2. When I was 16 I had an accident. I was wearing a helmet then...I turn 60 in July because I wore that helmet when I was 16...I wear long pants, helmet, gloves..always and a jacket 90% of the time, mesh in the summer, leather in the winter...ODJ >
  3. Didn't post to argue about it....just gave my opinion...have a nice day...ODJ
  4. I went, I was stopped, and my bike inspected....Didn't take long, the trooper checked my ID ran a check on my lic. and reg, checked my insurance, my lights, horn and brakes. Once he was satisfied that me or my friends were not a threat to public safety we were on our way. By doing a safety check they get a chance to talk with you one on one, noticing if your sober, nervious, agressive, defensive, evasive in your comments. Through this interaction they might see something that would make them look closer...possibly finding illeagle drugs, weapons or even explosives..Let's be honest that's the world we live in today...Might actually snag someone who has an outstanding warrant or riding a stolen bike. Possibly trip across somebody who's truly a dangerous threat to public safety heading to the same place as me and maybe you to spend the week. There are a lot of good people who ride out there but your kidding yourself if you don't admit that there are some bad people riding too....An event like Daytona Bike Week draws all kinds of bikers, good and bad...I had nothing to hide, my bike was road ready, (like the vast majority of you, I don't get on the road without checking my bike). The trooper was polite and I was on my way in a few minutes..actually a nice short break...Didn't necessarly enjoy it but understood why they did it...this is just my opinion...ODJ
  5. Someone sent me this link this morning. a pretty good case for the red light cameras..... shots from red light cameras
  6. always...A half for summer and a 3/4 for winter or extended highway trips....don't like full face and wouldn't wear one that wasn't DOT approved....
  7. Hey guys I don't wanna be a "wet blanket" here but I would just like to say, "don't run a red light anywhere, you could end up getting killed or hurting someone else"....Sorry it's the old cop in me...I have cleaned up after way too many people have decided to play the lets run a red light game and lost.....No matter who put them up, I hope the red light cameras scares folks into stopping at the light..Who knows it could be my family, or yours in the intersection at the time.....ODJ
  8. I have run right around 120 a few times with no problem...Just to see if it would...I honestly believe it would go faster but by the time I get there I have had enough time to think of all the things that could go wrong at that speed and back off....
