Most of the time there is no box to check or uncheck for auto-renewal. It is usually part of the "terms" and you can't avoid it. When you click "accept" you are now signed up for auto-renew and you then have to go searching to turn it off. They hope you will just give up looking. When signing up for things with auto-renew if it has Paypal (many have it) use it. You can turn it off on the PAYPAL website. That's what I do...Angie's List, my website, etc. As soon as I sign up I go right back to Paypal and turn it off right then. When the renewal period has expired I can turn it back on if I wish and then turn it right back off if I wish. CITIBANK MASTERCARD has a feature called "Virtual Account Numbers" which creates a unique CC number and 3 digit code that is assignd to a single merchant. You set the expiration date and spending limit. This is a bit more cumbersome to set up for each merchant but it is almost impenetrable/hackable/stealable. It can only be used online or over the phone because no actual card exists and it allows only that merchant. It is also very easy to cancel. We use PC MATIC for our internet security. It allows for 5 computers... ANY FIVE. If you get a new computer you add it and remove the old one. It's 50 dollars per year or $150 forever... LIFETIME. It's called PC Matic Evergreen. That's what I have. PC MATIC is made in the "Good Ole' USA". As a Veteran that's important to me. Kaspersky and many others are made somewhere in the former USSR... you know... the old "Trust me" routine. Sounds like the "Fox guarding the hen house" to me. I do not trust free security. If there is a breech... you got what you paid for...NOTHING. YG

I have kids and I have dogs. Dogs are better! It is my pleasure to help. Helping dogs and other animals happens to be one of my "Missions in life". Heather -
It was still hard to turn with a screwdriver. The set position is unlocked and it will turn with a screwdriver... but it might require a bit of elbow grease.

I had one like that. Put it in the set position, remove the key and then try it with a straight-slot screwdriver. Heather P.S. Welcome aboard!

I keep saying "Somebody ought to snatch it up!" Rachel said if I get rid of the bikes I can buy a small airplane. I'm thinking about something like this Microjet 200 for toolin' around on weekends...Whatcha think?

I don't think the forks are bent, but they might be. I think it's the camera angle from the left side

Yamaha VR's are one of those things that really is kind of hard to put a value on because it's such a "Double edged sword". They truly are pretty much bullet proof but things do wear out and not everything has new replacement parts. I paid $1450 for Big Red in 2012 and I have at least another $2500 or more in him. That doesn't include tools, equipment, motorcycle garage/shop, lifts, hoists, yada, yada, yada. Look at like a girlfriend... how much ya got in your's? Because whether $1500 or $2500 if you love her then you're splittin' hairs. With these particular bikes it's all about being a Venture. But you can find them in all price ranges and conditions. If you think you're going to love it, then just negotiate a price and live happily ever after!

Thank you for the compliment! Big Red didn't look like that when I got him in Sept 2012. The above pic was in the fall of '14 after doing 2nd gear. I stripped the clear coat and removed the chrome from the engine covers, valve covers, etc., polished with red and white rouge and buffing wheel, clear coated witn KBS clear coat for polished aluminum and stainless steel and redid the detail painting on engine covers, etc. There is a lot of goodies on Big Red. Somebody ought to snatch him up. The ins company set the salvage value at $535. Here's a pic of the engine before I fished back into Big Red in 2014.

A second opinion was not needed on these diaphragms.
yamagrl replied to CMCOFFEY's topic in Watering Hole
When I got mine from Dingy he programmed it and also sent software. Sometime in 2014 he sent me an updated ignition program file. Min also came with map sensor. Mine will likely be up for sale soon. Sent from my XT1060 using Tapatalk -

My point exactly... we market the snowmobiles directly to the "Snowbirds" around places like Dade City and Sarasota!

I used regular Orings on the anti-dives on Big Red. For many things I just match them up by size and composition. The ones in question are petroleum resistant. I disconnected the anti-dives when I installed Progressives. I removed the line and plugged the hole on the valves with a 10 mm bolt and crush washer and then used a single banjo bolt on the caliper. The valves need to remain in place for the fork to work otherwise a block off plate with proper ports.

I just got a call from the adjuster. He said the value is $2950.00 but my policy has a $2000.00 max so that's what they will most likely pay me. He still has to submit it to Allstate. He also said he didn't think it was ride-able. I'm going tomorrow to retrieve my personal stuff and look it over, spend the night in Birmingham with friend and be home Wed. I'll post some pics and more info as I get it. YG

Yes. I did the second gear repair in 2014
