  1. I like the idea of a LIKE button. Sometimes you don't want to make a full comment but you just appreciate what was said.
  2. I decided to go with the straight usb charger plug. I found a nice place right on the plastic behind my right butt cheek under the seat flap. Right by the battery and close enough to run a cable into the saddlebag to put the phone in side to charge.
  3. Ok well l me ask this, Has anyone else experienced paint cracking? Mine is on a part of the tank that never gets touched. Except when wiping her down.
  4. When we bought it last October, the 5 year warranty had expired. So we were offered a two year "Yamaha Extended Warranty" for a little extra. Not from the dealership, but from Yamaha. That is what I was wondering if it covered the paint. It is 2 small hairline paint cracks. Almost hard to see but if it doesn't get repaired, I assume they will get bigger and rust.
  5. When we bought our bike we bought an extended warranty from the Yamaha dealer. I noticed a couple of paint cracks on my gas tank does anyone know whether or not the extended warranty will cover that?
  6. I read a few post about people that put the Road Star fender rack on the RSTD. I would like to do this as it seems to be a cheaper (price ) rack than the OEM RSTD one. Can anyone tell me if it is strong enough for a tour bag? I can't tell from pictures which one has more support.
  7. I just started reading about ethanol free gas. I am going to look into it. There are a few stations here in the Denver area. I have a question to who ever has been through this. If I gas up with the E0 fuel once then get to a place where I can't get it, will it create problems with the carbs?
  8. Thanks for all the great information. I was unaware that I could try before I buy on firearms. I found a local indoor range close by that for 14 dollars a lane and 20 dollars for rental plus ammo, I can try as many different handguns as I want. So I think I will save my money and spend a Saturday shooting. I haven't shot a handgun since my Navy days. It was a .45 caliber. But I could not tell you the make. I did hit quite a few seagulls though.
  9. I understand your concern. I did check the forum first and found many similar discussions. So I didn't think it was a problem. I trust the opinions of my fellow riders here and just wanted some input.
  10. I am looking at handguns. My only question is caliber. .380, 9mm, .45 or .40. What are peoples preferences and why? I have done most of the other research. I have been looking at Glocks or Sigs. Just not sure which caliber and why. Thanks Dave
  11. Thanks, I did email him. He said he said something about college and that he was no longer going to be doing any hats, including anymore VR hats.
  12. How do we forward this thread to Golf & Venture or Freebird to see if they can do anything about this?
  13. When you say lose one, did some one steal it? If so, how did they do it? I contacted my insurance company and they said a stolen helmet would not be covered on my bike coverage. I would have to claim it on my homeowners/rental insurance.
  14. Hi All, How many of you use the helmet lock on the side off the bike? I understand it locks it up thru the d rings, but what keeps people from cutting thru the web strap to steal the helmet? Dave
  15. I think it would look a lot better if the hat was directly embroidered. I am in for the 3rd design as well, without the black patch line. . It is year neutral. As for the 1st design, that would look cool as a sticker on my car. I emailed the guy who did the VR hats and he said he will no longer make them. Could Golf&Venture be persuaded to help out? Same kind of cap as the VR caps. Just to be clear, I am in no way trying to undermine the name and designs of this wonderful forum. I just thought it would be cool to display our wonderful bikes. Maybe put a small VR in the center of the star on the logo you designed Stache?
  16. I don't know who we talk to about getting them made.
  17. These are the 3 patches that I guess were made before.
  18. I while back I read a couple of threads about designing RSTD patches. I emailed the guy who made the VR hats to see if he could make some in different colors than he has now. He told me he would not be making any more at all. Would there be others that would like ball caps with the RSTD logo that was created earlier?
  19. When I had my 82 XJ650, I changed the rear sockets to dual circuit ones and replace the bulbs from the 1156 to 1157. wired the extra wire to the license plate light. There was always issue with the XJ charging system. Very limited extra voltage. If I do this to my RSTD, do I have to worry about using too much power?
  20. I wll probably go with the Flanders, but I was just curious.
  21. Yea I understand, But I saw a pair of RSV bars on fleabay and I was just wondering if anyone had done that. I liked how the handle bars felt when I test rode the RSV. Not sure how they would feel on the RSTD.
  22. I have seen posts about flanders bars on the rstd. But has anyone put rsv bars on an rstd? Is it something I want to even consider?
  23. I will probably want to mount it in the back somewhere. My wife will be using the gps in the phone and controlling the music to the helmets. And when she gets bored, probably surf the internet?? I thought about putting one in the hole on the left side beneath the drivers seat, and another one in a saddle bag, so I can lock the phone in to charge if I want. Just a thought.
  24. Where did you mount your accessory plug on your RSTD? I am looking to get a USB plug for our cell/gps. I know there is a hole back behind the seat. Dave
