It is because of gravel that I know own my Royal Star Tour Deluxe. My wife and I were riding our Suzuki Boulevard C50 on a gravel road. The further we went the softer it got. Next thing I knew, we were on the side, sliding down the edge off the rode and onto our side. Nothing broken, only pride. But the Boulevard was pretty hosed. The insurance company totaled it and we bought our 06 RSTD.

I am thinking of drilling a small hole thru the locking mech somewhere and getting a thin piece of aircraft cable and a lock??? Sent from my DROID4

I went from an 07 Suzuki Boulevard C50 to my 06 RSTD. I test drove the Venture, and although I loved it, it was a little top heavy for me at slower speeds. I absolutely love the RSTD. It is a great 2up bike and very comfortable to ride short and long distances. And on the nice evenings, you can pop off the windshield in 5 seconds and feel the wind. Sent from my DROID4

I finally got my USB charger in the mail. And got it installed. It is close to the saddlebag so I can run the cable into the bag and charge the phone while we are not there. Of course there are pictures.

I have seen many people on his page advertising their wares to sell. Specifically the guy that makes the diamond cut heads for the Royal Stars. I am not sure if he is from here as well, but whats the difference? Ads are ads. Is he forcing people to his site to purchase his stuff. No and neither were we. He is the one talking about Honda and cell phone companies???

Not your fault

It is the Yamaha Royal Star Venture and Tour Deluxe Fans, and Owners. I am not saying others should drop off the site like I did. It just ticked me off that if the moderator wants to give a good site to his members and help them in anyway possible.... He mentioned that this site was for profit and gain of memberships.

I have to say, I am the last person I know to get upset about pretty much anything. But this frosted my cookies. There is a certain Venture Facebook page, not at all affiliated with this site, that a lot of us frequent. From time to time someone asks a question about their bike that no one has an answer for. Someone then suggests heading over to this site or others for a possible answer to their question. Straight away the moderator makes the comment that members there are pulling people from his page so that this site can get more money. I can't see anyone here doing that just to get more members. Everyone here seems honestly genuine to just wanting to have a great experience on a great bike. This is just my opinion on this subject. I am not looking for pros and cons on the subject, I just don't like other people bad mouthing "pay" sites as a just for profit organization. I paid to this site because it is a wealth of great info and I would like to see it continue. I know I have only been here a short time, but the people here are really nice and 12 bucks isn't going to break me. But the info was still here for free if I wanted it. Sorry for the rant. I need to get out and ride..........

Thanks for the reply. It was Jercoupe's post that I was referring to when I mentioned about him adding lowered pegs for his wife. It looked like he kept the floorboards where they were and added the lowered pegs. I just want to lower the floorboards. But I also want to know if there is a difference between the Venture and RSTD. Thanks

I have an 06 RSTD. When I look at the passenger floor boards on the Venture, they look lower than on my bike. Can someone tell me if there are floorboard height differences between the two bike styles. I saw someone had build a device to add lower foot pegs, I guess along with the floorboards, but, I would like some way of just lowering and maybe putting them a couple of inches forward. She hates the pegs and just wants the floorboards. Thanks Dave

Puts it real close to the battery for wiring and will be easily accessible for my wife on the back to plug in the phone or ipod. I am also planning on putting a regular lighter plug on the right side of the seat so I can plug my helmet communications unit in to charge.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if there was anything small enough. I have a bigger metal strap wrench for the car. I will look for the Cobra wrench or something like that. Thanks for the replies

I did my first oil change today on the RSTD. I had an issue with getting the filter off. It was on really tight. I ended up punching a screw driver thru it to loosen it up. What do you guys use to remove the filter? I have an end cap thing that my socket wrench goes into to turn it, but it will not fit. Not enough room. Suggestion please. Thanks Dave

This is not a question on how to sync the carbs, this instead is a question on when. How do you know when it is time for a sync? What are the tell tale signs showing they are out of sync? Is there a specific mileage that it should be done regardless? Thanks Dave

I was driving in South Denver this afternoon and at a stoplight I looked over and saw a real nice black 2nd gen Venture. Now I see the Ventures now and then, but it was where it was parked that got me. Right at a medical marijuana shop. I hope he wasn't self-medicating in the shop and riding home.

I have been a firefox guy for a long time. But it has started locking up alot for no reason. I switched to chrome and really like it better. I also use chrome on my android phone.

Congratulations, I just went thru a 4 month layoff and just started a new job as well. I know how you feel. I am sooo tired of putting in resumes to companies that don't give a crap or don't want to pay you what your worth.

A year and a half ago, we moved from Phoenix to Denver. I could have trailered the bike up, but instead, took 2 days and rode it up. Flew back down and drove the uhaul up. I would have missed some great scenery and a great ride. I can't see trailering the bike unless it's broke.
