  1. Peruse Craigslist. I found a Go Pro HD3 in Watertown craigslist for $100 yesterday.
  2. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1326 Here ya go dude.
  3. Ya meet the nicest people on a 1st Gen. As for high jacking any thread. I have always thought that a good conversation and a good road have something in common. Twists and turns. You can still get to the same destination and you may see something along the way.
  4. Ours was purchased to remove BTTR's it seems. Of the red variety. The Boss doesn't mind greys but the reds are so destructive it isn't even funny. My normally sweet, kind, compassionate wife sees red when she even thinks red squirrels. Squirrels don't even twitch much. They just die when the Gamo goes Poof.
  5. There is that. Boats are fun. They really are. We had many great days in all of ours. But every adage quoted here is true. First time I have heard Break Out Another Thousand Our entire package, Nice trailer, 50 Horse Evinrude, and Starcraft aluminum boat was barely a grand. Before I peddle it I will put in a new floor and carpet and make money on it. And that will be a rare thing.
  6. I loved bikes from the time I was a kid. Mom and Dad said no way. (probably how I got to live to 21) I used to trade off my cars to ride a friends motorcycle till I got married. My bride said I could dump our wedding card money into our first motorcycle. Many many bikes later, damn right I still have the same bride. I went through all the phases. Street, dirt, enduro, crotch rocket, UJM super bikes, and now to bagger. Crashed a few, got really lucky one time, then seemed to have settled down. Some. I'll ride till I see God. And I just know there are motorcycles in heaven. Have to see this film.
  7. I'm gonna hate myself but,, What on earth is a BTTR? Tree Rat? If so, BT? (just digging myself deeper) That whisper Fusion is really quiet. Neighbors will never know.
  8. Fritz, as bad as NY State is getting, NYC is it's own little slice of stupidity. Were we to give NYS an enema it's a toss up. Does the tube go into NYC? Or Albany? Tough call.
  9. Puc, with your flair for prose it's never a high jack. More like colorful commentary.
  10. I wonder how many folks are going to be disappointed that I am referring to adult air rifles? If anyone has been wondering or considering the purchase of a new tech high power air rifle but wondered if they were worth it, they do the job in a big way. For giggles I picked up a ..177 Gamo Whisper Fusion Pro recently. This rifle has exceeded all expectations. It is a well made rifle and is BAD@$$ looking taboot. THe scope is of very decent quality and once zeroed the gun is shooting very well. It was apparantly factory set for some dumb range like 100 yards. I wish I had used a battery operated screw driver to lower the elevation. It is remarkably quiet for a 1400 FPS pellet rifle (.177 caliber PBA Platinum pellet) Enough so that it can be used in an urban setting for varmints. Said varmint was a mature wood chuck shot at 20 yards. (friends house) 1 shot to the neck / base of the skull. Never moved an inch, just dropped and twitched a bit. And this was with run of the mill lead pellet. It is a bit amazing to see what high end pellets cost. Up to $15 per 100. This gun is no toy and as with any firearm all caution should be exercised regarding down range safety and such.
  11. JohnT's dictionary lists "boat" as A hole in the water surrounded by wood, metal, or fiberglass into which you :mo money:" I do still own a "ghetto cruzer" for getting into camp and such, but it hardly sees the water anymore. Have fun!
  12. Bud, I just removed the lines from the class, drilled them straight through and tapped them to accepty the 1/8" threaded end of an air tank fill adapter. The other side of the banjo got a pipe plug. I put the front line under my fill lid and the back line is attached to a frame piece out of sight but in easy reach. I did use JB Kwik as "thread sealant" due to limited material depth. Easily done, and cheap fix. Under $10 because I had the drill, tap, and JB Kwik.
  13. When we were all messing around with 4x4 ATV's a can of ether was a must. Heck, you could wipe as much of the mud off the rim as possible and POOF, inflated tire again. Then sneak your buddies spare sweat shirt back into his gear back and off ya go.
  14. Just replaced mine a few weeks ago. My tails lights went out on me. Had to wrap a bit of foil around each end of the fuse to take up the slack tween it and the clips. (did not defeat fuse) On the way home I also had intermittent dash display. Came home and did the fuse block upgrade the next day. Even with no dash we still know our 1st Gens are faster than a 2nd Gen. Mirrors don't require electricity. Dumb @$$ question time. Which fuse is the CLASS fuse? I shall probably remove it and tidy up wiring in there a bit. Seeing as my bike now is one step closer to being like me. It also now lacks CLASS.
  15. The "Dark Side" is starting to take on a whole new meaning.
  16. I want in. 1 Rooster gets first crack cuz he already mentioned my CLASS. If he doesn't bite on it I have an intermittent E4 controller and a compressor that worked fine till it was removed about a week ago.
  17. Instead of brass knucks (felony weapons charge) if you just happened to have a hammer with you. A person may find it easier to get any charges against them reduced or tossed. If you hold the hammer's head in your hand it is still effective and gives your lawyer more to work with. Also screaming please don't hurt me whilst you thump them helps your case.
  18. Go to Crutchfield and check out the Clarion amp I am using. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020XC1410/Clarion-XC1410.html Surprisingly low impact on the electrical system of my 1st Gen. And it isn't much larger than say 2 packs of cigarettes. And very good sound quality for the size and cost. I have used both the Polk 401's and the 4" Bazookas. Either are OK as far as they can be expected to sound. It takes air movement to create sound, especially bass. The small 4" drivers do fall short a bit. But they sound good. Until and unless you over drive them without a cross over or bass blocker inline. Or tuning down the stereos bass level. So I now have a set of 20 year old Altec Lansing 5 1/2" marine speakers in the fairing where the old stereo and CLASS were. I have totally removed (and passed on to a member) the entire stock stereo and CB, as well as removing the CLASS in favor of my stereo. I have a Clarion CMS 1 head unit which is pretty good. Navigation of the stored music (thumb drive) could really be easier, but other than that I am quite happy with it. I see that now it is hard to find and has been replaced with the CMS 2.
  19. My problem seeems to be that I can no longer "find my way" to where to mark my states.
  20. Ground Hugger. I live just outside of Watertown. Close enough that a trip to or over the border is no problem.
  21. OK, the job is actually done, and it works. I have an "E4" controller and a working compressor up for grabs if anyone needs. My cheap way out was to drill the fittings that I removed from the compressor. I then tapped the new larger hole and installed a pipe plug in one side and a tank valve in the other side of the fitting. There is not a lot of material to work with (depth wise) so I used JB Qwik as pipe thread compound when I put the fittings in. I put the front valve is under the "tank cover" and is readily available via the gas door. The rear is wire tied to the frame behind the rear passenger foot board. I had the drill,JB Qwik, and tap so the entire fix was under $10.
  22. And actually I find my rear tire makes odd noises related to change in tire pressure. So, could the (slight) added weight maybe do the same?
