  1. And this is why we recently bought a mobile home ... check this out ... http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/vancouver-house-sells-for-567k-over-listed-price-1.3012604
  2. Engine looks like a V-twin possibly air/water cooled ... like the Kaw.
  3. Had to chuckle at one of the comments over there ... "Much prefer our 'old' model--this one looks like a Victory 'wannabe' to me." I believe that is the next generation of the Kawasaki Voyager ... look at the fairing ... a lot of similarities to the current one.
  4. I just adopt the attitude ... "it will never happen to me" and go about enjoying life. Similarly to tornadoes is forest fires ... why would anyone want to build their home in an area that is prime forest fire country ... because "it will never happen to them". Here in Western Canada it is mostly all forest and a lot of the areas are highly prone to forest fire due to the dry summers and sometimes lack of snow pack such as this year. Yet homes are built and forest fires happen and homes are destroyed. People rebuild and go on about their merry way. Over the past 15 years there has been massive devastation of property due to forest fires. Many people and businesses have lost everything while at the same time you see some buildings that got totally missed yet still right in the middle of all of it. You set down your roots and take your chances. Life itself is a gamble.
  5. Do we have a list of heads she'll be promoting and what their new designation will be?
  6. My RSMV was the first bike I ever had with a heel/toe shift. It took me quite a long time to get used to it but once I did, I used it as designed. When I sold that for my Wing, it was like I never had a heel/toe shifter. Now on the Victory ... no heel shift. I don't miss it at all so I guess it's all about what you're used to and what you're comfortable with. Thing about having a heel/toe shifter is ... you don't have to use the heel shift if you aren't comfortable with it.
  7. According to a certain someone, I have no ass ... but I'm somehow full of sh*t ...
  8. Heck, I'm 100% badass 67% of the time ....
  9. OK, now I'm confused (which doesn't take much these days) ... did you or did you not pay off the Harley??
  10.
  11. When we bought the home back in Nov, I decided at that time to continue paying payments on the bike and throw a bit more at it whenever I could. This allowed me to double-up my mortgage payment as well as pay upwards of 1500 each month towards the principal, the goal being to pay it off in 2-3 yrs. Keep in mind it's a manufactured home so I don't have a very large mortgage. Interest on the bike is something like 3% ... same on the mortgage. Just did some forecasting and if I stick to the plan, mortgage will be paid by Dec 2016, bike will be paid by April same year so ...... keeping my fingers crossed here .... I'm looking at retirement around May 2017. Shortly after that we'll be hitting the road on a year long tour of Canada & US so be prepared y'all as we'll be knockin on yer doors!
  12. :nanner:
  13. You'd make an excellent weatherman .... most of what you forecasted is wrong LOL
  14. And THAT is a GREAT feeling! Congrats! Had I not blown a chunk of money on a boat , my Vic would be paid off next month. As it is now, with the purchase of our home, it will not get paid off until April 2016. Our BIG independence day will be when the home is paid ... 2-3 years away, and then I can retire!
  15. I just learned it's not the only one ... an economist is another LOL
  16. Yesterday around 4PM I checked the forecast. It was showing mostly sunny for Friday with a high of 15 celcius, Saturday and Sunday showed sun & cloud with highs of 16 … no rain. Today the forecast show Friday light rain high of 15, Saturday sun & cloud and 11, Sunday light rain and 12 I should have been a weatherman … the only job where you can be wrong all the time and still make a good income LOL

  22. A few years back we attended a Venture West rally in San Louis Obispo. On the way back we passed thru Yosemite and Reno. Somewhere between them we were looking for a place to stop for the night and food. Came across a campground with an Italian restaurant. We didn't have camping gear but they had cabins and supplied blankets and pillows. Now this place was pretty rustic so we decided to take a look at their offerings of cabins. Lo and behold one of them wasn't really a cabin but rather, an old, old western covered wagon. Had a newer canvas top and a bed and that was it. Nice semi-private camp area with a fire pit. We couldn't resist that! Had a fabulous meal in the restaurant, a few drinks, got our bedding and sat by the campfire till late at night listening to the crackling of the fire, the little brook flowing past the campsite, totally clear sky filled with stars .... we slept like logs! It was the absolute BEST experience ever! I have pics at home ... will post later. Danged if I can remember exactly where that place is tho. EDIT: Here's the only pic I can find... was certain I had others
