  4. When I was young, I used to hate watching that "dancing and singing" stuff ... as I grew older I developed a real appreciation for the talent and the coreography (did I actually spell that right? LOL). Now, I get totally into it. That was awesome! Some great and famous dancers in that! Thanks for sharing!
  5. hehehehehehehehehehehe
  6. Here's how they are made....
  7. There is (or was) a type / brand of tire called Blizzak ... the tread is siped from mfg. They are awesome on hard packed snow and icy roads. Had a set on my Villager van years ago when I was doing a lot of long distance winter driving. They stuck like glue to the roads. If I was doing similar driving and all I had was a set of standard winter tires, I would not hesitate to have them siped. Tires with a siped tread should only be used during winter when the roads are cold, snowy, or icy. Any other time and they will wear out very quickly.
  8. Not likely ... you need to install "levelling links". Do a search on these. They will greatly improve the low speed handling.
  9. ya, it costs a lot extra to convert those 'merican made bikes to metric
  10. I don't mind but something tells me the lashing I'd get from the warden would surely matter ...
  11. I was at the Harley shop a few days ago to get warranty on my boots. Yes, my h h h harley boots that I bought back in March ... some of the stitching at the zipper was coming apart. Got a full exchange coz they are warranteed for a year! Anyhoo, spent a good deal of time drooling over the new Ultra Limited. At $31,xxx plus tax , I guess I won't be getting one any time soon but I do plan to go to the demo days in Oct and test ride them. Some of their color choices are awesome and I really like the changes they've made to things like the fairing, saddlebag lids and trunk. That vent in the fairing is designed to neutralize the low pressure zone behind the windshield/fairing to reduce head and body buffeting. Have the same kinda thing on my Vic and it does make a big difference, even with a shorter shield.
  12. Folks complaining about engine heat from a liquid cooled Venture ???? Having owned 2 first gens and a 2nd gen, y'all don't know what REAL engine heat feels like ... try riding a Vic or a Harley on a scorching hot day in stop and go traffic! Seriously ... I can't say I ever felt much engine heat on any of my Ventures.
  13. Pretty much how I felt about my Wing.
  14. Yup, that Allstate Moped was what got me started too ... but I never bought one. I was 10 at the time (1957) and we lived in a hydro camp way up in northern Ontario. Several of the workers at the dam had those to travel back and forth to the job site from the living area. Us kids would sneak out at night and go joy riding LOL!! what a blast!!
  15. Heck no, you're the first one to have that happen mate
  16. Yup ... and Yup And it was his "banter" that made me think of Kit Carson ... both seemed a bit "bigger than life" but always was interesting and somtimes quite comical reading their posts.
  17. For a while it seemed, he was the most active poster here. Now he's an "Expired" member. Seems since he got his F6B and got back home from that "dinner with Miles" trip and his little "accident" with the woman driver in the parking lot at some Motel somewhere .... he's disappeared. Anyone know his whereabouts or communicated with him? Kinda makes me think of Kit Carson.
  18. Al, you must have missed my and Feelings weren't hurt at all... I was just pokin fun and stirrin the pot (as well as putting some real perspective on your comments).
  19. Been how many decades since you last rode a Harley ... or for that matter, any V-twin? I've been going to Harley demo days for at least the last 10 years and none, not even one of the bikes I've demo'd vibrated "like an old maids delight" (whatever that means) while going down the road. My son rides an '03 Sportster 1200 and it doesn't vibrate "like an old maids delight" either. I now have a Victory V-twin and it's as smooth (maybe even smoother) than my Ventures.... in fact, even my '06 Venture had vibration issues ... that little "buzzing" at certain rpms that could be felt in the hand. Oh yeah, and perform??? c'mon ... I can pull the front wheel with my Vic in 2nd gear and it will blow your RSV (and most Harleys) off the road. (V-twin bashers ) :stirthepot:
  20. Now I'm curious about the words "Midnight Venture" on his speedo.
  21. He said it was new when he bought it although it was 2010 when he bought it (obviously a left over). I forgot to look at the saddlebag hinges but It was the stock grey with pinstripes found on the 2008 models and it did have the added chrome but didn't the "S" models come with that?
  22. Met a guy today riding a Grey 2008 RSV-S. Mentioned that we used to have an '06 Midnight. He says ... "that's what mine is". What??? I look at him and say "midnight Venture's are Black" but he insists his is a midnight. It even says "Midnight Venture" on the speedo. Did I miss something or did Yamaha bring out a Midnight Venture in 2008 with the grey color? :confused24:
  23. FWIW, the more I ride my CCT, the more I'm liking it. Got almost 11,000 kms on it now and it's running very good. That "clunky" shifting is almost non-existent except when you kick it into 1st. Nothing odd about that ... lots of bikes do it.
  24. I can hardly wait for their 2014 demo days here. The color on that Ultra is awesome!
