1. I am not in here anywhere near as much as I used to be. There are two reason's for this. One is a bit obvious (no longer a Venture owner). The other is, since returning from Holidays mid-August, I have been so busy here at work I just don't have the time anymore. Once I get home I am so brain-drained of computing, I don't spend much time on the 'puter at home either. Nice to know you've been missing me tho...
2. Must be a 1st gen thing
3. Ya but it took so much maintenance and repairs to keep it going they dumped the 1st gen
4. At work we have a 2-tiered A/V system.... first on the firewall and then another inside the network. That said, we access many websites from work .... if it was anything to do with the A/V, it would be noticeable on all websites one would think. This site has generally always been fairly fast to load pages or links to the various forums, threads, etc but I have noticed some things running much slower than what was "normal" over the past few weeks. Here at home I run Linux OS so there are zero A/V or anti-spyware apps running. Not seeing slowness here tho (at least not at the moment) so I'll do some digging at work.
5. Of late the forum seems quite slow loading. Anyone else experiencing this?
6. Nina and I were out for a nice fall ride yesterday ... mostly cloudy, sun peeked thru a few times, temps appx 12 celcius.
7. heh ... now I understand why I was having such a tough time drilling out the CATs in my header pipes ... the bits were red hot! LOL
8. I've had a Drill Doctor for appx 5 yrs. This one ---- > http://reviews.canadiantire.ca/9045/0542741P/drill-doctor-drill-doctor-bit-sharpener-reviews/reviews.htm Is the one you have different? (I see there are a few different models) Mine seems to work fairly well.
9. We bought an '05 Chev Silverado "Special Edition" extended cab 2x4 with the 4.8L engine 3 years ago. It had 53k kilometers on it then. We got it for $12500. Only put on 23,000 kms since. Nice truck; however, 2 wheel drive sucks when the roads are wet or snowy even with the limited slip diff. Also feel it has a crappy ride on bumpy roads. As for the extended cab, I wouldn't be without it or even a quad cab. Very handy having extra space back there for groceries 'n stuff or for when someone needs a ride. As for the box, it's got to be close to 7 ft coz when I haul a sheet of plywood, there isn't much sticking off the end of the tailgate when it's up. I'm guessing 6'6" box length. Overall tho, it's been a great truck so far.
10. Heard about it ... hoping it comes to this neck of the woods as I will definitely go see it.
11. As a matter of fact, yes (in a way) but I miss most of the past several bikes I've had. I would never go back to a 2nd gen (or even a 1st gen) Venture again tho but I would go back to a Wing (or would that be UP...) Still lovvin the Vic ... love to ride it, love to look at it, love the power and handling ... said it before and I'll say it again, it's the best bike I've ever owned. The Wing would be second only because it felt more like a car instead of a motorcycle.
12. heh ... we're almost at a stage where we need a bigger house ... what, me with all my "toys" and her with all her kitchen gadgets LOL! The same day I got the Logitech steering wheel, she came home with an electric rice maker (that's funny in a way coz she makes perfect rice in a pot on the stove). fwiw tho, the PS3 was a Christmas present from her to me 2 years ago. I never quite understood why she did that coz we already had an xBox 360 that we got free. I do like the PS3 a lot better tho. All that said and now that I think of it, she has mentioned a few times how much she likes the PT Cruiser...
13. PS3 (which I already had) 37" LG Flat screen TV (got a 55" for TV viewing) Logitech G27 steering wheel/pedals F1-2013 formula 1 racing game ruhhhh ruhhhhhhh ruhhhhhhhhhh

15. The one's I got are made for a Road Star ... the ones I put on the fairing are actually designed for the lower part of the gas tank of the Roadie. There is a couple kits for the Vic XCT but I didn't care for them. Some of the Harley ones would have looked good also.
16. heh, I think I voided that a long time ago! High-flow air filter, adjustable timing wheel, 02's disconnected, fuel controller, Thrush Glasspack mufflers, CAT's removed.... geeesh ... it's sounding more like a H... Ha ... Harl .... cough (I can't say it!)
17. heh... I only wish I could do that! vinyl graphics.... http://www.autotrimdesign.net/
18. Just had to do some "pimpin" to my XCT
19. Watch in HD if you can
20. ya ... but it wasn't a "generic" kinda convo
21. why would you want the GAWR? Wouldn't you be more concerned about the GVWR? I don't think GAWR really comes into play until one is looking at medium to heavy trucks ... but, I'm just ASSuming...
22. Been here since '06, was on two Wing sites when I had a Wing, now on two Victory sites ... one of the Wing sites was the worst as there were a number of guys there who would not hesitate to stir the pot or cause trouble ... as if they had nothing better to do. That one site even has a special forum just for bashers to bash each other LOL Good here and both Vic sites are pretty decent, one being better than the other. One thing that is quite different between this site and the Vic sites is most of y'all here are old geezers like me!
23. I built a bracket that's attached to the GPS mount. Sat antenna is glued to the top of the bracket. Wire runs inside the fairing and over to the other side where the radio is. Had the same setup on my Wing. On the venture, you can see where I mounted it in the pic.
24. I've recently heard thru a local warranty rep who happens to be a friend of a friend that he heard talk of an all-new, completely re-designed Yamaha touring model which will be released for the 2015 model year. Word is that the engine will be a de-tuned version of the current V-max yet it will still look similar to the current Venture engine (simulated air cooled fins). This all new version will come with a total re-design of the body work and will be a close "look-a-like" to the current Victory Vision; however, it will have considerably more cargo space than the Vision. The electronics will be similar to what is now on the 2014 Harley Ultra (speech recognition, etc). There's more but I've forgotten the details.
