  1. Mailed it out this morning
  2. I got one off of one of th parts bike s. PM me your address and I'll mail it tomorrow
  3. You started another 25 year garage build ??? Tell me it isn't so ... It better be anything...and I mean ANYTHING other than you bought a 2nd Gen...
  4. Dang... mine keeps dropping. I just tightened all the clamps and stuff on the carbs and sealed the aircleaner better and although it runs better it now dropped from 33 to 31. I used to get in the low 40's
  5. Hope this helps: The first picture is by-pass off - Normal running condition 2nd picture - Bypass on - for draining. I have also attached some Word Doc's that show/explain it. I just did mine about 6 weeks ago. It spit coolant out and acted weird on the temps for several days until it seemed to "burp" the air out. Now it is fine and runs just over 3/4 way up in traffic and 1/2 way on open road.
  6. Ditto on the picture. I have a couple of 84 parts bikes and if one of them have it and it will fit an 83, you can have it.
  7. Are you using aftermarket seals ? I tried aftermarket seals and had a lot of trouble. Once I switched to OEM seals they went together and work with no further issues.
  8. See if you can open this document. There are some pictures in it. The one I was talking about is on the 3rd page, #4 in the parts photo. Hope this helps.
  9. can you post a picture ? If it is the one I am thinking of, that has the"lip" on one side I believe it goes down into the spring. I might be thinking of another part since it's been over a year since I did my front forks.
  10. I am going to be at Disneyland with my 2 year old Grand Princess this month, the 26-28th. If you haven't located one by then, I could see if they have them at the Happiest Place on Earth. Let me know by the 23rd. Bill
  11. We only mimic the best .....
  12. I wonder when they find the time to practice when they seem to spend all their time hiding in bushes and behind fences... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=485637114825455
  13. I agree with all the previous posts. Check and grease your steering head bearings AND look into getting the thicker front fork brace. The "wobble" I had was more of a side to side "looseness" that kinda wobbled but wasn't up and down. Fixing both of the above took care of it. Then there is the.... " while you are in there... new front fork seals AND progressive springs. Also, when searching the forum, drop to the bottom of the search link above, go to Google search on the bottom and click on the http://www.venturerider link.
  14. What is interesting is that my 89 has a thick rubber ( I guess ) o-ring looking thing as shown in picture 7 of Donvito's write up ( link below) . I just happened to pull the coils off of one of my 84 parts bikes on Tuesday and went out to see if they were good enough to give to you. The 84 coils did not have them in it either. Sounds just like you described. Just the cap with the wires going through it screwed on. So the big question is.... are 84;s different then the MKII coil wire caps ?? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81742
  15. I had a bunch of bulbs go out close together. Replaced them and things worked again. Also, If your console is shaking/vibrating, I put a thin washer on the bolts ( mine were shoulder bolts) and that helped tighten up the console. I used a ratchet type box end to loosen and tighten those bolts... made it a whole lot easier.
  16. Very sorry for your loss.
  17. I have spent time around Ft Bragg/Fayetteville since 2008 when my daughter was stationed there. My son-in-law is still stationed there so we go back to see them all several times a year. I have always been surprised on how few bikes I see other then a few on Bragg. I am thinking that once I fix my 87, taking it up there and leaving it at the kids house to ride when we are up there. They now live in Dunn.
  18. This brought back memories. I started on a mini bike, but the first "bike was a 1967 Honda P50 Moped I actually had 2. A red one and a blue one. It was a rear engine, peddle to start, peddle for extra "umph". Pulled a great wheelie since the gas tank and the engine was in the rear. Used it as a "dirt" bike. Finally collapsed the center after taking a jump. Wish I still had one of those it would be a cool little conversation piece. My first street legal bike was a Honda CB360T, red. Just saw one totally restored riding around town.
  19. Did you want the manifolds ?
  20. I went out yesterday and tightened the upper and lower clamps on the carbs and aligned the gasket under the air cleaner. The bike runs much better. I was surprised how much I could turn the clamp screws to tighten them. I'm hoping that that is the reason for my lower mileage and not so smooth running. Seems to run smoother.
  21. I also have a set of carbs off of one 84 that I have had trouble getting the sliders out of, but the slide needles are OK. Which are the main jets ? PAJ1 or Pilot Air Jet 1 PAJ2 ? The Main Jet Air Bleed. ?
  22. I just took a set off of one of my 84 parts bikes. They look the same but... somebody will have to make the final decision. You can have them if you want them. ...if they will work..
  23. Are the intake manifolds on an 84 the same for his 86 ?
  24. Bert, Now that I know you are rich enough to travel internationally and buy a bike on a whim, the cost of the center stand in my garage with your name on it just doubled, maybe tripled in price...
  25. I heard it's cheaper if you have a 1st Gen center stand on your bike...
