  1. A lot of thoughts and wishes have been discussed about Yamaha Part Three. My questions are: 1. What is Yamaha going to do to entice their dealers to bring in these bikes and have them on the showroom floor? 2. More importantly, How are they going to drive the rider to these dealers to purchase these bikes? Me, like many others I'm looking forward to the unveil and yes I'm saving my pennies and picking up cans (my brothers in Iowa know what I'm talking about). If disappointed I guess that I have a few bucks tucked away and the Iowa landscape is that much cleaner and prettier. Happy Monday...
  2. I'm stoked and hope they hit it out of the park. I took a leap of faith and emailed all my Hardley Davidson friends...so I might be eating crow. That being said, I'm counting my money, scrimping and saving in hopes that it hits the sweet spot. I hate loans, the only one's I have is for the house and my car that I use for work but I'm pretty sure I could get talked into "The Last Bike" purchase.
  3. Freebird I'm with you. Apparently the marketing department fell asleep...
  4. Welcome back and thank you for your service.
  5. Here's to a successful procedure. Use to deer hunt in the Llano area; Coopers BBQ in Llano has great brisket! Oh yea, I would not ride at night, the deer were everywhere.
  6. Dacheedah, Here's to a speedy recovery. This past week I had to make a trip to Mayo for a check up. Long road trip for a check up but its based on genetics. I understand and appreciate when you say you get a new perspective as I get grounded every time I there. For me all is well! Take care.
  7. Best kept secret in the touring world! Have fun!!
  8. My cousin has a 800 Vulcan and i rode it over the 4th. Nice bikes, easily handling; she should have a lot of fun!
  9. $400-$800 is ouch. Sounds like I will be studying up for this one!
  10. Coming up on 26k miles on my 06 venture. Been dreading this as I know its that time for valve adjustment and as long as I'm there I want to check the float levels on the carbs. This maybe (probably) beyond my pay grade with regards to my capabilities. So as I sit here pondering the task I thought that I would reach out for some thoughts and advice. 1. How hard is it? 2. Any idea what a shop would charge? Not that there ever is a good time for a expense but I had tuition for my youngest and vacation bills hit the credit card so needless to say the savings account is wiped out. This is a great place!
  11. Thoughts and prayers for a successful procedure and speedy recovery!
  12. I run 91 in my bike, it runs better than it does at 87.
  13. First time I changed oil that's what happened to me. Of course asked the family here and they told me all I needed to know. Just remember when the Harley stops the Yamaha keeps going!
  14. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Nothing worse then seeing the one you love in pain. As for moving on; I'm sure that you will make the right decision for the 2 of you.
  15. Sorry I missed as well. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family and that the doctors find the cause. Thank you for sharing; once in a while a guy needs to vent and here is the place.
  16. 2 thumbs up and the white walls look great!
  17. Thanks all! I have passed on to my brother and will let you know if he joins the family.
  18. Finally things have slowed down to check out my favorite site...of course it 10:46pm and I just finished paying bills. Had a family reunion last week and got a ride in with my cousin who I have always thought of as my brother. He is a bigger guy with a 29" in seam. Currently riding a Kawasaki 800; I have told him for years that his bike is too small. Well this past weekend during our ride we switched bikes. First let me tell you that riding that 800 felt like a moped; I was laughing all the way but my butt was hurting missing my ride. I also want to tell you its the first time I heard my bike with someone else ridding and it sounds awesome!! Bub pipes and it has a growl. Back to my brother, he finally discovered what we all know that the RSV (2nd Gen) is a great riding bike. Not trying to argue with any 1st gens as I have never ridden one. He is now convinced that he needs to think about a new bike and is thinking RSV. I gave him the story and told hi, about the family here. With the 29" inseam he struggled a little because he was not flat footed. Done some research on lowering the bikes but thought I would reach out and see if anyone can provide some advice; let me know!
  19. Live in Iowa and of course the Hawkeyes=Hawks. Colors are Black and Gold =BG, thus BG Hawks.
  20. Been there and done that twice! Now my youngest turn 16 takes drivers ed next week and than his license. I'll be honest, I still worry about my 21 and 19 year old. Not so much them but all idiots on the road. Scares me of all the texting and driving I see.
