  1. No problem going up or down with my 07 RSV. Engine braked in 2nd gear most of the way down, tapping the brakes when needed. Your not going to hurt that motor unless your pulling major rpms. Keep it under 3500 rpm and you'll be fine. Do not spray your rotors with water unless you want to sit on the side of a mountain with cracked rotors. That is a just plain dumb thing to do. Not a lot of places to pull off either. Don't make a ......mountain out of a mole hill.
  2. Yup, I got 20,000 out of my last set. All depends on the roads you run, riding style and whether you ride 2 up or not.
  3. Well...............atleast they are TRYING to make a new bike..............unlike............Yamaha.
  4. Don't be surprised if you wake up in the morning and see me curled up in a sleeping bag in the corner of your tent.
  5. John, same here. My wife works, but I am planning on attending.
  6. I may actually make this one Jay.
  7. Carfax the vin number.
  8. If your inseam challenged, raising a high seated bike just makes it worse. I took mine off and pushed the forks up higher in the trees. Never had a clearance issue yet. Bike handles in my opinion way better than with the links.
  9. Well come on over and sit in traffic on I-696. 4 lanes wide and no place to go. Left lane you definitely want to stay out of, right lane........unless you want to do 55 in a 70 and deal with merging traffic you really do not want to be there. That leaves the center two lanes. I ride/drive that route everyday. Just a matter of time before I either bite it on the bike or get nailed in the car.
  10. That is the current "bid". They will probably go up considerably in price.
  11. I have mine from my 07 RSV. PM me and we can discuss.
  12. I did the stronger Skydoc spring, but then I ended up finding a good deal on a performance clutch and going that route.
  13. Patti, one question.....why not tow the trike on a trailer behind the motor home so you could ride the roads in what ever area you park the motor home in?
  14. What you did will not work for me. My gps is Bluetooth. I am not going to add a wire to it and run it through the aux. If I do that, I won't be able to use my satellite radio. I need to be able to pair the gps to the Bluetooth, use the helmet to helmet intercom AND the cb. I could care less about a phone. I will not talk on the phone while riding a motorcycle.
  15. Yes I want everything to work through the helmet. Cb, gps (which is Bluetooth) and satellite radio and the intercom. I picked up another helmet last year for my wife, blue to match my 07, her current helmet is red to match her bike, and I am looking for another headset for the blue one. For the price of an Elite J &M, I can get 2 Sena Bluetooth headsets on Amazon. Cords are a pain, but s would making sure the headsets are constantly charged. I know I would have to get the Buddy Rich cable, did not know I would have to get another one from Sena. Also, I have done rides that lasted longer than the 9 hour battery life. So I am kind of not sure what to do. Being over 94 people have looked at this thread, I am kind of disappointed at the response.
  16. Who has gone Bluetooth on their headsets? What brand did you go with? What all did you have to do to get them to work on the second gens? Are you happy with them?
  17. It is also Ford Blueberry Metallic.
  18. I really hope your joking. But if not, before you pull it, take out a 1 million dollar life insurance policy out on yourself in my name. I will make the payments.
  19. Lift the bike in the center. hopefully you are using a motorcycle/atv jack. You will probably have to take the muffler off the side where the bolt comes through. I do believe it hits the pipe/muffler before it comes completely out. One the bike is lifted, place boards under the rear wheel and drop the jack until the tire touches the board. This keeps the tire from dropping when you take the bolts out of the links and releaves the pressure on the links making it a bit easier. Remove the bolts and replace the links.
  20. I ride my 07 RSV with the stock pillow top seat for many hours/miles. I did 1740 miles in 35 hours last year with no issues. I wonder if I have work done to the seat if I could ride for days..............
  21. I had to rotate my tire (DOT) 180 from the stem and it balanced out with less than a half an ounce. I mount and balance all my bike tires myself. Take that dot with a grain of salt. Just because you took it to a shop does not mean the monkey turning the wrench knew what he was doing.
  22. Nothing in that shop is for sale other than his book and t-shirts. Everything nice that I would be interested in is marked NFS. Not For Sale. Just a tourist trap now.
  23. Do yourself a favor. Contact Larry "Carbonone" on this site. Spend the money on one of his stands. Do not take a change of the bike slipping off of wood blocks or hockey pucks. It just is not worth the risk.
  24. OH NO..............a Goldwing that wants to be a Harley. I thought I felt the earth momentarily stop on it's axis. If your happy, that's all that matters. It's not what you ride, it's that you ride!
