  2. Well,, I got the amplifier all wired in except for power and the Sirius receiver except for power. Friends coming by to assit. Might go ahead and tie into the head light and tail light for both. This way they run only with ignition turned on. Kinda hard to take pics and send but I'll give it a try. Mike
  3. Gonna take another look. I'll let ya know what I plan to do BEFORE I go cutting lol. Thanks for help. Mike
  4. Hey mike how are you gonna do that. I was looking into doing something like that on my truck. Do not cut off the end of the Lighter insert and jut wire it to the bike. My understanding is that some units use 6v instead of 12 and you may hurt the radio. If you want ot tidy up the wiring then install a lighter insert hidden and go that way. BTW I think the wire your looking for I believe is Red with a yellow stripe. I haven't cut the end yet... lol The wire for power is too short to reach into saddle bags. I have an aux plug in for it but seems I have to cut a 1 inch hole to bolt it in. I suppose I could cut the end off, put in a piece to reach and then re-connect. I just want it all to look clean and professional... OK clean.
  5. I'm installing a Sirius radio and want to wire directly into the ignition switch so power goes on and off with switch. Theres 4 colors and I don't have a tester handy. Anybody know? It's a 2005 RSTD. Thanks. Mike
  6. "Where do you plug in for the battery? I have a sirius radio and want to hook it up to my ipod that has fm receiver with headphones. Any info would be appreciated." I'm hooking up to the brake light (aka running light) that comes on when I turn ignition on. It will also be the connection I utilize for the amplifier. This way it is only on once key is turned. I'm sure theres other places but I'm installing the unit on Monday. If I come up with a better place I'll send pics and tell you exactly what I did. Mike
  7. Tartan Terror, thanks for link. Called them and orders placed. Looked around before hand at different units and decided I'd buy the Streamer GT. It has the FM receiver built in so I don't need to purchase and install an actual radio with my amplifier and speakers I have already. Also ordered the brake reservoir mount for unit and antenae, and cover. Total was 140.00 with shipping. Thanks again. Mike:dancefool:
  8. I've looked through so many threads on here that now I'm confused. So I'll just ask a direct question in hopes of getting a link. I want to buy the Sirius SV3-TK1 Stratus receiver for my 05 RSTD. What I'm looking for is a handlebar mount for that particular receiver that also will hold the antenae. Like the XM roadie has. Any help will be appreciated. Also want to let folks know with Sirius you can buy a years subscription, get an extra month free and can put your service on hold for up to 5 months without being charged a reconnection fee. So during the winter months those of us who are fair weather riders won't be charged for service were not using. Mike
  9. Appreciate the responses. Now to find the oil for these. I won't need to change anything else with the new filters will I? Mike
  10. Was still wondering if the 85.00 buy it now w/shipping is a good price for 2 of them. Seen prices on internet and not sure if that was each or both. Thanks for links. Mike
  11. Found a set of K&N air filters YA1399 on Ebay. Is 85.00 a good price for 2? Thanks for assistance. Mike
