  2. Woops!! Missed the word rear!! My bad! The rear caliper on MK2's is the same one as 2nd gens. I think I have the one from my '09 before the trike conversion, I'l check and get back to you...
  3. Don't we all...
  4. Yup!! 4 brush starter with new brushes, and thicker battery lines along with your DEKA battery should fix any and all starter motor problems. Now the carbs on the other hand is a whole different can of worms...
  5. OK I see by your profile you have a MK2. Probably the best thing you can do is replace your old calipers with Yamaha R1 calipers. The cost to rebuild your calipers will end up being waaay more than what a good set of R1's off Fleabay...
  6. A trike that leans!! Now how can I put a canopy on my trike...
  7. Krispy Kremes came and went in the WNY area...
  8. My 2005 Monte Carlo has 134,000 miles since I bought it new. Becky is currently driving it and it is to be retired this summer...
  9. The theory/reason for mounting rear tires backwards on the front has to do with the cord design. On the rear they are designed to resist the torque of the drive force on the tire whereas the design is opposite in the front where the torque developed on the front tire is from braking. One force is CW, the other CCW...
  10. Makes my blood boil...
  11. First, your real issue is most likely your speedometer cable. There is also a possibility that the speedometer itself did indeed seize up. Instead of rewiring, just swap out the speedometer assembly. Now for your question, the '84 and '85 should be compatible, but the '83 is not! However, the parts are interchangeable except for the CMS...
  12. Yah! You have indeed opened a can of worms!! I currently have a Dunlop E3 rear on mine and it is lasting much longer than my original front tire...
  13. Like they say on Duck Dynasty, the only good beaver is a dead beaver...
  14. Miles, I really wouldn't mind at all. Perhaps Motorcycle Tom and I could spend some quality time together on a road trip, cabin fever is getting pretty intense!! I just know there are a few NE Pa members here as well. Seeing as my first wife was from PA it is not beneath my dignity to enter that state at all!! If onenut or someone else can't get to it then looks like next week some time may be a good excuse to have lunch together with Tom...
  15. No, Earl is more towards SW side of the state. One of the newbies is in Sayre which is closer. Wellsboro is in the NE section of the state, about 2 - 3 hrs from here. Worst case senerio Miles, if you can't find anyone I guess I could take a road trip...
  16. I used to be a Ham back in the '60s but when I got out of the military I never renewed, lost interest. I was a gerneral class WB2GBO...
  17. The big difference with the Venture and VMax engines is the heads. They are interchangeable. I'm sure member Dingy will pipe in and give you the full picture. Welcome aboard!!! There are a couple of videos available occasionally on fleabay dealing with rbuilding the carbs, and rebuilding the engine. Very informative...
  18. Cool! That fairing hit a deer as well when the bike was just 3 days old...
  19. Hmmmm, I bet they would!! I'm going to watch this thread, I'm sure Dingy or Squeeze or someone else has the answer...
  20. Hey Squid, that '09 fairing looks kind of familar...
