  1. I got a great deal on some from Walter (Wes0778). I love mine!
  2. Got my replacement points.http://www.powersportswarehouse.com/pages/PublicMedia/HotItemImage?brandId=650&filename=335484f6a9c.jpg Powersportswarehouse.com was very quick. I will do business with them again. I have'nt put them on yet, they are in my trunk if needed. Since I cleaned the contacts with a mild file the oem pump has worked perfectly. I figure, if I need to replace them on the side of the road, it's only a 30 minute job, if I take my time. I am convinced this is the problem with our pump's. $38.00.....I can live with that. Click on the picture for the link.
  3. That is correct. I just recieved the set I ordered. I have'nt put them on yet but they are in my trunk if needed. I cleaned the contacts and it's worked fine since. Nothing to changing out the points. The place I purchased them from was qiuck to get them to me. had them in stock. I payed $38.00 I think. Here's the thread link...http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81574. Check post #24 for a link. It's the K&L Supply universal fuel pump point switch kit.
  4. 1st bike was a honda trail 50, then got a honda cl 125. Oh the memories.
  5. First, welcome to the family. Second, the button...maybe a garage door opener?
  6. In my logic, and I may be wrong, but the intermittent nature of these pump malfunctions, lends itself to the electrical portion of these pumps, not the mechanical. I mean mine is working well again and I just filed the points. I don't trust it so the points have been ordered. I hope this works.
  7. :sign yeah that:that was unreal. I did'nt know it was possible to fly like that with an R/C airplane or anything else for that matter...WOW!
  8. Yes, the part number does not bring it up for some reason. Just type in fuel pump and click search then click on see all results and it's there. It's the K&L supply pictured in I think the third row down, first in the row. I will post the results of my rebuild asap. I should get the part in by the 9th according to their estimate on shipping date.
  9. Folks, I have found the answer that lets us keep our oem pump. www.powersportswarehouse.com . It's item number 18-4615. It is the points switch that goes bad on these pumps and this is a new set. We can just replace them and keep the oem pump for $33.85 plus shipping. I just ordered mine. It even has the same plug so basically a plug and play unit. It is the K&L Supply universal fuel pump point switch kit. If you type in fuel pump in their search box and click on see all results it will be down on the left side of the page.
  10. My pump craped out on my '07 2 day's ago. I went and got the mr gasket, but when I looked at it, I could'nt see how it was going to fit in the same spot after I screwed the nipple/filter end on it. I cleaned the contacts on the old one and she's working so far, no problems. I think I would like something closer to stock if possible...researching that. I hate to spend $225.00 on an oem pump but I may.
  11. Prayers and condolences sent bro. I know your going through some tough times right now. your friends are with you.
  12. i've had the stock brickstones...trash. I have been through 2 set's of avon venoms and love them. They are very sticky and good in the rain/wet roads but don't las as long as the Dunlop E-3's. As said the E-3's last longer but they absolutely scare me in the rain/wet roads. I've been through 2 set's of those as well. I am going back to the Avons because I ride in any weather. I'm willing to replace more often for that peice of mind on wet roads. That's my .
  13. As far as smoking does this engine which I think is just a 1200 does it have a history of valve seal problems? I think it is a 1300.
