I am a legit contractor, and have no problems with the basic idea of licensing of contractors. What I do have a problem with, is that this act takes away a safeguard for contractors in that they cannot collect attorney or filing fees against a consumer for not paying the contract amount when the contract was full filled. However, the consumer retains this right. That is not right in my book. Contractors will also not be able to do work on a time and material basis anymore as I understand from this law. Some of my customers prefer it that way. This will probably get rid of some of the fly by nights that have plagued us legit contractors, but it will also increase our risk and paperwork and possibly PO some of our better customers because of these new laws. And, you do have to have liability insurance, which is only right, so I don't know where you thought that was not included.

Alert for any of our Pennsylvania contractors (including general contractors, painters, plumbers, electricians, possibly landscapers, and others! You better do a search for "New PA contractor law". There is very disturbing requirements that will take effect THIS July (09). While PA needed this kind of registration for contractors, they don't need to have government tell them how they can run their business to this extent and take away safeguards for contractors (against non-paying consumers) only and leave those same safeguards in place for consumers. This isn't right, and it's discrimination against legitimate contractors! This will effect all our PA contractor members and is another example of government not thinking things through completely before passing something (just like the minibike/atv ban because of lead in the motors and batteries). I would suggest you study this law and see how adversely it will affect you and how you do business and the risks involved with this new poorly thought out law, then contact your officials and work to get some of these items changed to be fair. Tell that to the Ducati guys! The Big 4 are still having a hek of a time trying to get their inline 4's to keep up or pass the Vtwins of the Ducati's. It used to be that a 4-stroke MX bike was a joke, not enough power, too heavy, etc. Now, they have all by replaced the 2 strokes, and probably will completely soon. Engines are not like they used to be.

According to the AVA site, it is because all items are not yet settled on. It is a pre-production model, and a few things may change which will affect the price. It is rumored that it will be very competitively priced however, which sounds like to me that it will beat all others.

The CB module does mount inside one of the saddlebags I understand, but the controls for it are on the handlebars, and the channel display I am told is in the center LCD display.

You might want to keep in mind, that when selecting the HH brake pads, although they provide better and stronger braking power, they will wear your discs out quicker than others. With that said, I run the HH's too, but will schringe when I see the prices for a new disc.

Although I have test rode a goldwing, never was on a new gen Venture. At this point, I personally like the GW riding position I think better than a cruiser type position, but then again, never rode a newer one. In case you didn't hear, Kawasaki re-introduced their Voyager tourer, but this time based on a Vulcan platform. You can read more at the AVA site linked below.

The 1 year warranty thing is incorrect, they have a 3 year warranty extendable to 5. Although the tank might be considered small, the MPG is really good for a bike (engine) this size. You can get more up to date info by going to the American Voyager Association website. They have their own page up about it with additional and corrected info on it.
