  1. Dealer just completed warranty on the 07 RSV replacing the cylinder head gaskets front and rear. I have found what appears to be a vacumm hose disconnected beneath the fuel tank. I can't tell where the rear connects, however the forward end of tube is long enough to reach the air cleaners and perhaps more. Idle is not smoothe and there is a vibration getting up to higher rpm's. Once you reach mid to high rpm's it smoothes out. Mechanic stated it is a vent tube and stuffed it back under the tank. The end of the hose physically is expanded and looks to have had a clamp on it originally He did a carb sync and it seems only slightly better. Next step is to remove the tank myself and determine where the hose originates on the connected end and go from there. I don't see specifics on the vent tubes in the service manual, however I may be missing something. Note: The checked the valve adjustment at this time as well, 30K, and stated all were within spec. It was running great before their having worked on it. Appreciate any suggestions/guidance here.
  2. Riding in the hills of southern Ohio allowing the engine of hold/reduce speed on declines, exhaust fumes drawn to passenger area. Wife wearing 3/4 helmet with face shield, which undoubtedly accumulated fumes inside shield. Riding with a Clearview XXL windshield with vent open. I noticed some intermittent exhaust fumes, but did not suspect wife would be negatively impacted. Anyone have input to determine root cause and corrective action?
  3. Put them on the '07 this year. Wife has circulation issues and the are working out great. Only regret not buying as first option.
  4. I just put in a Phillips Moto Vision H4, which was introduced to me on Motor Week. Have yet to ride at night, however the visibility during the day to oncoming and other traffic appears to have improved significantly. I purchased the bulb from cycle gear. http://www.cyclegear.com/images/StreetAcc/Philips%20Moto%20Vision%20h4%20h7_77x77.jpghttp://www.cyclegear.com/images/design2/category_inc/prodlistseemore.gifPHILIPShttp://www.cyclegear.com/images/design2/category_inc/trans_sp.gifMotoVision Light Bulb$19.99
  5. Has anyone taken legal action against Yamaha and the selling dealer on the clutch basket whine issue? No one that I know would buy an RSV knowing in advance the agony this creates. I am having the clutch basket replaced today on my 07 RSV with 4,000 miles and am reviewing options if this does not fix the problem. This whine is destroying the pleasure of the ride for me and the wife on an otherwise pretty nice machine. If I were to purchase a car with a like problem, I would be looking to have it repaired or the vehicle replaced by the manufacturer. Just looking for other thoughts on this issue. Thanks, Steve
