Autozone carries a water resistant relay. Squirt that one with wd 40 time to time. Or it will corrode.

Links provided below. I KNOW Ohio I have rode it ALL in four seasons. Find your way to 11 South the back way, Then go down Route 7 all the way to Marietta, Ohio, Stay the night there and get up in the am and go west and find the start of Ohio 555 (Ohios Tail of the Dragon AKA The Triple Nickle) Run that out and Cut east over to Stockport, see the Inn and the Damm and peek in the Inn at the electric company, Sign the wall, go back out from there and find your way over to Big Musky Bucket, The largest machine to ever move on earth, Look it up! You will just be seeing the Bucket of it, the rest is history! Come out of there and go north to Sugarcreek. Big Attraction, very busy on weekends, but an old Amish/ swedish/german community some of the best food in Ohio right there. And if you are into wine, or she is, stop and get a bottle of Roadhouse Red, there is no finer wine for the money. I get a case when I am down there. The ladies love it! Anyways by now you seen all of the best roads ohio has. Get on 77 go North to 62 East take that to 225 North and it T's into Ohio Sr 5 go East Past the Ravenna Arsenal, (more history) Watch for deer at night. Stay on 5 East and get off on Elm road also 5 E and when you get to 305 go East to SR 11 North and back home. You will need the free Map at the visitors center, don't sweat the roads if you go the way I said there are no bad ones. When you get around 555 there will be plenty of bikers as it is a big bike route for the smooth curves. Muskie Bucket is also a Big attraction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Muskie http://www.motorcycleroads.us/roads/oh555.html http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/440/Ohio/The-Triple-Nickle---Route-555.html http://www.stockportmill.com/ (i only stay here with a Woman) Jaccuzzi Room and wine from http://www.breitenbachwine.com/ http://www.villageofsugarcreek.com/ Damm, Got me wanting to go, I need a beautiful brunette to balance out the back for me.

I have over 60K miles on a Roadstar went through all kinds of pads finding one that would work and not have any bad habits. They are same part numbers as Our Ventures. What I use are Emigo that I get at Shadetree powersports. On the net free shipping. Be sure you clean and polish the guide pins before re-installation. roll them on glass and be sure they are perfectly round, if they have low spots where the pads hang on them, this will cause the pad to hang in that low spot and not be able to retract away from the rotor. Put small amount of caliper lube on the metal parts that the pads contact the caliper and slide. A tiny bit is all thats needed. before installing your pads Spray the backside with Dic Brake quiet and let it sit 20 minutes and install. This anchors the pad to the caliper so when you let off the brake the pad retracts with the caliper. And while I have em apart I spray the whole caliper with Simple green and Orange cleaner and clean it with a tooth brush, Dirt is your enemy. I have no idea what the Emigo pads are made of, All I know is they stop me great, and low dust and no squeak or chatter. I ran into them on accident and glad I did. They preform well slamming the curves at the tail of the Dragon area 3 times a year!

I was just at the dealer and he said the Venture line has come to an end, there will be no rework. 2nd Gen is Last gen. So, You can just go get ya another 2nd Gen guilt free. No amount of waiting will work. And he showed me they book on this. So I saw it on my own with my contacts in!

Well, you'll be happy when you get it, these guys did not steer ya wrong on that. Should work like a gem. I have wired a lot of vehicles and sometimes it even calls for a powered unit in the OM.

Just moved to the dark side on Millenium Edition
IronMike replied to GJMark's topic in The Darksiders
On the Darkside on my Roadstar, seriously consider it pretty soon, Just bought an 08 RSV with a new rear tire I am going to wear out if I make it. Had a serious problem with my azzhole sucking up seat cushin when I was following a car through a Yellow light and they decided to stop, Gigantic lesson on Bike tires right there after running Darkside for 60K miles. Post back how its working out and the air pressures, Im wondering how it handles in a curve over 80, My only concern. I hardly ever even do over 80 on the Road* but a lot on this bike. -
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d139/usmcxterra/74a19f79-ac7e-475e-90bb-7bc00ebbaea9_zpsfa47f8fe.jpg Well what your going to do is when you get the new Venture, hit me up for my super duper Slap in the face tail light bar! (Above the plate) Custom made of 1/4 In Kyedex accommodates any light configuration. This one seen with high intensity LED truck lights and a Custom Dynamics Run and Flashing Brake light. And that 100 LED Tail light they make would be a good idea too. They just need a lot of HELP seeing motorcycles. Freebird has seen how well made and factory looking this is, er ah, after I blinded him with it.

He is right don't use it on plastic. They do make a plastic specific coating that does same thing. Google it. The kind I use is white. Bought at motorcycle show but not home to get the name. Rain magic is one. Anyways be sure it's good for plastic, clean the dog out of it first and do like three coats and carry some with you on a trip. With this stuff on a small spray bottle full of tap water is all you need to clean the wind screen. And same to clean the whole bike when a good wax job is on it. Don't fall for the quick detailers you really don't need em. Water and a micro fiber cloth.

Coolant Question
IronMike replied to SummerBreeze's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Yep. That's about the best mix. Maybe slightly stronger. Some put a coolant promoter in there. A product to aid in the cooling several options. Don't forget to pull the sides of each cylinder 3 bolts each. Under that is the cup drain plug. You screw a old small end of a spark plug into the plug and pull and out comes the antifreeze. The cover actually holds the plug in. I hear its not worth the trouble to drain the pump and I agree. Do drain the tank and fill with fresh mix. -
Well, two full face shoei's fit. But I thought the same thing... If someone would come up with a larger lid or even a neutral colored space to fit between the current lid and trunk lid..... they would sell a lot of them. My last trunk was an HD trunk, they have us beat there! But I like the aerodynamics of our fairing and trunk.

I thought Marine protocol in that situation and after the first warning calls for you to dump a 55 gallon drum of azzwhoop all over him. But hey good judgement and restraint, put ya in for a meritorious mast. Lot of gull he had.

What I want to know if what powerplant runs the od light! Glad I don't get the bill! -
The pictures really help guys. I have the 4 inch and I like some of what I see here for adding one more. As a line truck driver. I log over 130k miles a year using a Garmin 465 all the time and I toss in some other models all Garmin and one Magellan sometimes. On the traffic question. The receiver is in the cord. Traffic is pretty much useless and I am saying that running 98% east if the Mississippi, lots of NY and LI Jersey and Chicago, and other traffic prone cities. It just lights up and re routes you the same way everyone else is going to get around it. Using a cb and cell phones we determine we are better off most of the times staying on the road unless its an accident with a closed road. A cb works better than the traffic feature. I suppose that's why its now free! The cord is extremely expensive to replace. But running it on the bike I use a much thinner phone type cord for obvious reasons on a bike. Besides. I converted a GPS mount in the ram to hold my note 2 and Google maps shows traffic too when I need it. Duh never. So just use a regular cord, thinner more flexible and plugs into a 2 amp USB CIG lighter type charger with two outlets keep phone charged too!

Yea freebird. I noticed they sell new liquid for the carb tune. since the foreign one is not adjustable. looks like I better go with a great set of gauges.

Ok after much google I decide that Motion Pro is way to go especially when concerning parts availability for future, seems to be a lot of them and a lot of satisfied customers using them. If something extra is needed, looks like its easy to get. This one [ame=http://www.amazon.com/MOTION-TOOL-MERC-SYNC-08-0411/dp/B000WPW3EE/ref=pd_sbs_auto_17]Amazon.com: MOTION PRO TOOL MERC FREE CARB SYNC- 08-0411: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31gWSb9c-xL.@@AMEPARAM@@31gWSb9c-xL[/ame] looks to be new design says can be stored horizonal (not that I would) and mercury free! (I used to fish thermometers from grade school garbage cans and chase the mercury around on hard wood floors! And I'm OK!) So for people who have one and have done it. What else is needed. Are the 6mm adapters REALLY needed? They SAY they are for Yamaha. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Motion-Pro-08-0040-Carburetor-Adapter/dp/B000OO4PWG/ref=pd_sbs_auto_9]Amazon.com: Motion Pro 08-0040 6mm Carburetor Adapter Set: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41A%2B8cNlJmL.@@AMEPARAM@@41A%2B8cNlJmL[/ame] And what other special tools? Carb adjustment screwdriver? Like this dude, [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Motion-Pro-Carb-Adjusting-Tool/dp/B001DDH2ZY/ref=pd_sbs_auto_7]Amazon.com: Motion Pro Carb Adjusting Tool - --: Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/216oZJZDc%2BL.@@AMEPARAM@@216oZJZDc%2BL[/ame] I think I have one in my old V8 1960's tuning kit, but I think its shorter. Fan for cooling while tuning? Poor mans Gas supply? (I read you can do it with tank on. Really?) Really? [ame=http://www.amazon.com/motorcycle-shop-auxiliary-fuel-tank/dp/B004NV42PQ/ref=pd_sbs_auto_12]motorcycle shop auxiliary gas fuel tank tool : Amazon.com : Automotive@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31wZAmJTvLL.@@AMEPARAM@@31wZAmJTvLL[/ame] I'll probably order from Amazon, since I order thousands off them a year, they know me. When I went there, all sorts of other tools and options pop up. I want just want Just what I need to do the RSV not every snowmobile in town.

Best Battery for 07 Midnight Venture ?
IronMike replied to Jimbob66's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I killed a battery the same way, and when I charged it with a normal charger, it came back to life and is still starting the lawnmower. So dont give up on it. That stock battery is something else. -
On the CB edsets sells systems for bikes that have all the new features.

Man it doesn't take much to trigger a relay but as he said find another power on trigger, Is this Power ANT out? ANyways not familiar with your head unit but Most have two or even three Source on outs. Ant, AMp and sometimes Cell or BT trigger. Personally on my Starley I ran it to a total separate off the batter switch because I often caught my Reckless Fairing and 2 X 6x9's and 2 6'.5's being the life of the party. So I can listen with bike totally off, less drain. I also use a light timer for such circuits, where it kills the power after whatever you set it for after you shut off the bike. Most used as a headlight kill. So I can walk away with the stereo on, and it shuts off in 10 min or so. If I want to keep listening, I just bump the key and restart the timer. JC Whitney has em I am almost sure. I had stock. As you can see, I buy stuff cheap and store it. Just ideas.

In all my motorcycle travels I stopped and talked to countless riders, Never once heard of a dissatisfied GW owner or GW trike owner, Did talk to a GW trike that had just traded the GW in on an HD trike, Had to call somone to pick up all the stuff in the GW that would not fit in the HD trike, then he had to have someone help back it up, he bought the HD thinking it had reverse like the wing. My vote would be go for the wing, There is a place in NC that will give good trafe and they sell and trike all the time. He has 20 trikes right now and he will have that manmy when your ready http://www.schroaders.com/Store/index.php?cPath=1&osCsid=b5a1b9762889e22cef5f459bd7866ac7

whats this plug for?
IronMike replied to Black wing's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thats a trigger for terrorist Motorcycle bomber. You plug the detonator into that and when you hit the throttle and both brakes at the same time it sends a signal to the detonator. Well I wondered same thing few days ago, I thought maybe a diagnostic plug Yamaha shop uses. -
I THINK I sent you a relay in the mail. Meant to. Anyways any relay will do, same as one you used on horn. 86 to ground, 87 to power to trigger amps. 30 to 12V 85 from the head unit that sends out 10V When you flip it on, power goes to 85 draws it from 30 and sends it to 87. You already know this your just excited. Hope I sent ya a Relay, I get em for $4 I meant to send ya one, I bough em on sale.

SaberWing has Narcolepsy!
IronMike replied to StormRaven's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I would disconnect every plug up there I could and inspect for corrosion, the green stuff. Move the wiring harness a bit. This is referred to as "massaging the wire harness". Its suppose to relocate it to make a better connection or disturb a short. While we are on the subject. When ever you are in the headlamp or tail lamp housing. Coat the inside of it with duct tape so no wires can ground out on the metal housing and help prevent ground outs. This is the type problem only you can fix a dealer would charge you a million dollars, and it would do it again after you left.
