  1. Michael, Just a couple days ago our group went on a ride and I switched to reserve at 187 miles. About 40 miles of that was an escort so it was at 50 mph but the rest was at 70 or above. I was surprised that it did that good. I need to sync the carbs and do some more seafoam again.
  2. cwhite I have the 130, it feels like it takes off a 100 lbs from the front end, I also lowered the front shocks.
  3. I have put 1 1/2 risers on venture and did not have to change any cables or lines.
  4. The Commander II will make a big difference in handling and it still looks very big compared to a lot of other bikes.
  5. Drove a slingshot at Rapid City, it was a fun ride but you lose too much of the bike feel. It would be fun to have but for now I'll stick with a venture. The new F3 spyder looks like it would be a better fit for me than the regular spyder. Just my:2cents: worth.
  6. Motiv-- not sure where Lithchfield is but if you are thru northwest Nebraska at anytime we can put the corbin on your bike and you can try it out. I have had one on four different bikes and think they are great. They are hard, but once broke in they feel good.
  7. Hey Rob, I also went from a Warrior to the RSV. Quite a difference. To make more room on the RSV I took the boards from the back and mounted them on the front to make more room when your feet are down. This is the first bike I have had with boards. Last week I lowered the front shocks and it handles much better now, I put the 130 Michelin on last year and that helped. I've only had this a couple years so still changing things. You will really like the bike when you get some miles on it. You can also change the seat to give you more room, the corbin seat will move you down and back. Have fun with the new ride.
  8. Got the decals today. They look great. Will have to find a place on the Midnight to put them so they show up good. Thanks Don:clap2:
  9. Hey Eck, that does look good. It got above freezing here today, felt pretty good. That good looking bike is in all the pictures except the two. That wing does float doesn't it? All the old barns up in this country have pretty much been torn down but it is nice to see.
  10. Just run across this looking at Indian in Sturgis, they have an 06 RSMV for $4500. They also have 2 Roadmasters in stock according to their website. Look them up, it can't be all that far from Idaho. The new place up there is pretty nice. I am 150 miles from Sturgis, so I get up there several times in the summer. Hope you find a bike soon, they say spring is just around the corner. See ya.
  11. Also................Life is like a roll of toilet paper...the smaller it gets, the faster it goes!!!
  12. One of the companies is "mspevents.com" There is also one that is always at Black Hills Harley, they may be able to tell you who, I can't find it right now.
  13. Put me down for two, also, or maybe should say two too. Thanks Freebird, those look great.
  14. Fairly new here but in the last year have gained a lot of info on the RSV. Great bike and this is a vast store of info. Keep up the good work and is the best $12 you could spend. Thanks a lot for your effort.
  15. Will see what I come up with when I take them off to see how they work. If I make them nonadjustable I will let you know. I am guessing you are just wanting the actuator part?
  16. The used 06 RSV I got last fall had them, they didn't work with the switch so I took the actuator apart and moved them manually. I could tell the difference but not as big a change as on the video on their webpage. I plan on taking them off this winter to see if the flap or whatever is inside is opening and closing completely. If you figure out a good way to change them manually, let me know. I like the way the big pipes sound but it certainly is not very loud. When the wife's 1100 vstar is running {with aftermarket add ons} beside mine I can't hear mine at all.
  17. Just to add another rumor:stirthepot:. Talking with the factory rep at Sturgis- he said several new models will be introduced at AIM but not the Venture. He said that next fall would be the soonest for a new model:confused24:, hopefully by the rally so I can ride one.
  18. Kirby, I put a set of MCII's on last fall. The steering is quicker, more like power steering compared to the old tires. Going down the highway you have to be more aware, you can ride with no hands but it takes more input than with the Warrior I am used to riding. I would not call it squirly like some have in previous posts {if you do a search you will find lots of comments on this tire} it is just more sensitive that the old tire. I have not had a chance to really try it out on the curves yet.
  19. Bert, I got a 05 RSMV last fall, the PO had run the tires low on pressure, I replace both with the Commander 11's. I really like the way it handles. I have had a Yamaha Warrior for 11 years that handles fantastic. The stock front tire on the Venture is just too big for handling, I have not had a chance to get up to the Black Hills to test it out in the twisties yet, but it does handle better on the flat ground. Hope this helps a little. Gramps
  20. Hey Phoneman, I'm up here in Gordon, we have a foot or better with a lot of wind. Still snowing just a little, but not anything like Rapid City got. A lot of branches down but at least still have electricity. Had to move the Venture to get the snow blower out this morning and this is just the beginning. Ride safe everyone.
