  1. Hey Y'all. I live in Moncks Corner, SC and manage he power lines and generators for a power company that provides power to all of the cooperativews in the state, as well as customers in Myrtle Beach, Georgetown, Moncks Corner, Charleston, etc. I was working that night and had to send some personnel out in all that stuff. I heard our linemen reporting high winds and a bunch of hail. The tornadoes tore up some of our lines, some homes, and some businesses throughout the state. Made for a long night. But that's why we're here, to keep the lights on. Been doing this 30 years and every storm is unique. Never get used to them. I'm sure glad I have never been traveling on my bike and run into hail with no cover. That would really suck. Rusty
  2. I agree with Orrin on the TwinMax synch procedure. It takes a few steps and you can only compare two at a time. It would be nice to see all 4 synchs at once. I'll have to get the Carb Tune.
  3. I own a TwinMax and have used it on my RSVMMLTD and some of my other bikes. Seems to work o.k. I would like to also use a set of mercury sticks for comparison, but haven't bought any yet.
  4. On my 2000, I had to remove all of the intake ducting coming from the filter pods to access the front left coil. It hangs upside down from the frame behind the top of the radiator and below the steering head. Kinda hard to even see without removing the intake plumbing. It was a pain to get it out. It would also be nicer if it had a bit longer plug wire.
  5. Thanks for the response. Are you referencing 1st or 2nd generation bikes? I have the 2nd generation and can't follow your response referring to the vacuum lline to the ignition sensor. Rusty
  6. Hey y'all. My 2000 MMLTD (41,000 miles) accelerates just like it should under hard throttle going up through the gears. Seems to run great then. However, it vibrates (misfires?) when I try to accelerate at higway speeds like 50, 60,70, etc.. Acts somewhat like if you tried to accelerate in 5th gear running 20 mph. Shakes. I checked thoroughly and really don't believe it is anything in the drive train like the middle drive gear bearing or anything in the shaft or rear diff. From what I see using my timing light, I think my front two coils, wires, plug caps, whatever are the culprit. Took them out (such a pain) and did the resistance test on each item. All checked well within tolerance. Carbs are synched up perfectly. I've been wrenching for 37 years and am looking for the simple. Don't want to buy coils if not needed. Any body had any wires or wire insulation failures. Any ideas? Thanks. Rusty
