Thanks again for the heartfelt thoughts, prayers and :rotf:folks,, I KNEW I could count on ya'll!! Gotta say,, the ONLY comment that made me at all was that sneaky Flyingfool and his thinking he could trick me into purposely getting buried in his replacement for hot white sand:no-no-no:,, apparently he didnt read the part where I said its my sense of smell that is affected - not my sense of frostbite... All the rest of you made perfect sense - some very very good ideas!!! I will keep you all posted as Tip and I proceed thru this craziness!! My Dad and I used to go all the way up into the U.P. hunting Black Bear,, I never did get one but he finally did.. Got me thinking now that we should of left the hunting clothes home, dressed up like a couple city slickers and headed to Joisy:cool10: That was unreal Larry - cool thread!!

Following the pathway of many others (must be something we drank over the summer), I found out some pretty interesting stuff yesterday.. A while back I wrote a thread about weird smells in my nose, headaches, mental confusion.. Went to the doctor, had a CT Scan and ended up on some high dosages of anti-biotics.. That helped but the symptoms came back.. Like Buddy is doing with his knee, I decided to get a second opinion.. This new Dr. immediately sent me to a specialist (ENT).. My father's funeral (thanks again for ALL the support folks) ended up being on the day I was suppose to be at the ENT, had to change appointments but THANKFULLY they showed compassion and got me right in afterwards.. This is where the story really gets crazy.. This ENT numbs my nose and runs a camera up into my sinus cavity,, explains to me that this "sack" (as seen on a computer screen - pretty cool really) hanging in my sinus cavity is a "polyp", says it is kinda different that I only have one big one on one side.. Then he asked me if the drippage from my nose tastes salty:confused24:.. I smile and say,, yea,, as a matter of fact it does... As he is removing this camera from my nose he is explaining to me that he thinks I my be leaking brain fluid (used a medical name like Ceribal something) into my sinus cavity.. I stared at him to see if he was kidding:detective:,, apparently these ENT guys dont joke much (my daughter here at home laughed when I told her and said "that explains alot" = kids:whistling:).. I am now scheduled for an MRI in search of a crack in the bottom of my skull by which brain fluid can enter the sinus cavity.. The ENT will do no surgery repair work until he knows exactly whats going on BUT, I am also scheduled for blood tests and heart stress tests and all that stuff now too - exactly the kinda stuff they put me thru before I had back surgery back in 03 so I gotta hunch something tricky is in the works.... I probably should be deeply concerned (and I am) but I am finding myself actually feeling better just KNOWING that headway is being made (like Flyingfools case) - FINALLY!! On a side note,, being somewhat of an optimist, ok - maybe a little egocentric too,, it amazes me that I can have a leaky brain and still be smarter than a lot of folks I know,,, go figure:rotf:.. Appreciate all thoughts and prayers anyone can muster for this ol pest!! THANKS GANG!! On another side note,,, anyone else notice how many of us are going thru ailments at this time?? I honestly think maybe we should all go to Australia or somewhere really really warm, find us some nice warm white sand and bury our hurting bodies in it, leave just our heads sticking out..... Soooo sorry to hear of your knee pain, that stuff that is so bad it makes ya sick to the stomach is HORRIBLE!! I am happy for you that you are seeking a second opinion (and proud of you too - it is NEVER fun trying to figure this stuff out).. Thoughts and PRAYERS UP for you as you seek more help in resolving your pain my friend..

We had great big White Wash flakes (talkin those 1 1/2 inchers) the other morning.. They were really pretty but I swear each one displayed a really sly little right in the middle of em,,,, check your flakes - if they have that symbol you KNOW where they came from!!

Oh man,,, I wouldnt know what to do with myself if I didnt spend all winter harassing the likes of Flyingfool,, watching the evening news with all those Atlanta people freaking out trying to drive on a half inch of snow, having Tippy rub my back with "Heat" after an afternoon of shoveling white wash, having my beard freeze solid when I walk out the door to go lay in the snow and make snow angels.... Maybe someday when I grow up Skid,,,

Just give the word Fool and I will stop by and pick it up.. Talked to my buddy with the foundry and he is shut down for maintenance right now,,, I also have a friend who owns a sub zero freezer complex that operates off liquid nitrogen, maintains -4000 degrees year around inside.. Said I could store the White Washer inside there till the foundry work is done.. Guys a really good friend who wont pressure me to remove the ol White Washer till the Foundry is ready.. You can trust me when I say that the foundry maintenance wont take to long..

I'd gladly pay you Wednesday for hamburger today :rotf: What cha talkin bout Skidder,,, ANY DAY is a great day for good burger:backinmyday: You troublemakers have fun down there,,, FlyingFool keeps goofin around doing his pre-season tweekin on that White Wash Machine and ya'll can shoot up here for a snow-cone when your done!!

Catching up on some reading here,, WOW Fool, sounds like you are gonna need some serious rest after all this repair work.. If you need a baby sitter for that White Wash Machine you KNOW you can count on me... I happen to know a guy who owns a foundry and they have the coolest ovens that can melt any,,,,,,,,, Seriously Jeff,, glad to hear things are looking up over there... Prayers Up for your continued healing!!

Yea that,,,,, I know a guy who can even supply you with alllllllllllllllllll the snow you can haul back to Little Rock as a momento too - he would probably even ship it air mail for free if you asked him real nice!! Big world out there Lenny,,, first thing that popped into my mind was renting a great big diesel motor home for a week, pack that puppy up with goodies, head up into Michigan and drive the west coast up to the Mackinaw Bridge (all kinds of cool towns along the way to play in, plenty of State Parks on the Lake Shore), stop in Mackinaw City - ferry over to the Island, tour the U.P. and go home thru Wisconsin.. A National Park trip with a Motorhome would be another one unless you have to go during "tourist season" - following lines of traffic thru Yellow Stone at 2 miles an hour would get pretty boring.. It would be really fun to do a family trip thru South Rim Grand Canyon, around thru Page Az and over to the North Rim during the off season.. Load em all up and go do the International Rally, not far away, sounds like there is lots to do down there in Misery AND you get to introduce your kids to their extended family from VR, that Maddox would love it - be just like takin em to the zoo:stickpoke:!!

Just starting to feel up to being back online here and enjoying all the kind words - THANK YOU for all the condolences, prayers and thoughts after the passing of my Dad.. It means the world to Tippy and I and all of our family!! Dads funeral was very hard and grief filled (after reading thru your responses I KNOW many of you can totally relate to this), yet knowing he was finally free from all the pain and suffering he had experienced the last few years it was strangely peaceful.. Besides having 7 children, my Father also had 32 Grand Kids and 32 Great Grand Kids (you read that correctly - weirdness runs in our family:big-grin-emoticon:)!! An interesting thing happened during the funeral - one of my nephews had to leave because his wife's water had broken and she was in the process of giving birth to Dads 33rd Great Grand Child - the Lord taketh away but he also giveth!! Tweeks was $750 just a few short years ago.. I noticed right away when I test rode her that she wasnt feeling the best - even though she had under 30k on her she was lathargic.. I told the PO it felt like at least one carb diaphram was kaput.. Rode her home from Mancelona Mi,, pulled diaphrams - 2 came out in pieces.. She perked right up after repair.. She now has well over 240k on her and set me back plenty in her thirst for stickers,,,,, and tires,,,,, and brake pads,,, and gas,,, but mostly stickers:crackup:... GOOD THREAD!!

Just getting back on,, many Prayers Up during time away...

I LOVE the folding my bars back and in on my 1st Gens so I can lay back and relax.. I also have spent many many hours touring on Choppers and have always loved the laid back "feel" that tall bars add (leaned back, relaxing against a passenger or gear).. I have also ridden some fair distances in "Ape Hanger Mode" and I like that too - its pretty comfortable.. Bottom line Kid,, I like what I see and if I ever were to end up with a 2nd Gen - you and I will chat!!

DIT TOE Just change "Aussie" to "Puc",, hmmm,, is that legal on this new forum or do I have to meet Annie and Quickstep all over again to have that honor...

Indeed,, thank you too to all Vets,, past - present and future!! On a similar topic, I have noticed a variety of highway "markers" indicating a fatal crash in many States while touring the country.. I have always thought that we bikers should petition for some kind of symbol to indicate if it was a fellow biker.. Kind of a reminder to watch for motorcyclist,, so to speak.. In Michigan it is not uncommon to see a helmet hanging on it cross... Sorry for the hijack Jonesy... Puc
