  1. I have the same issue. Where does it mount to the engine block?
  2. Just because you can don't always mean you should .
  3. When 1st Gens shift out of 3rd and into 4th it creates a rocket effect that makes the average person see double.
  4. Praying for you and looking forward to hearing positive reports.
  5. If this is true it is very sad, but in no way would I want the government making laws telling me what I could or couldn't buy. If a dealer refused to sell to me I would go some where else and not ever use that dealer again. I think the biggest problem is lack of common since and to much pride to ask for help. I grew up in the country and around bikes so it seemed natural to ride a bike. But i did not start out on my dads bike I started out on a mini bike and worked my way up. I didn't ride for 20 years and just got back into riding the last couple years. Sure I wanted a big bike but I felt I wasn't ready for a big bike so I bought a used Honda 600 VLX at a great price and I rode it for a few months to get my sea legs again. Then I sold it at a profit and bought my Venture. When I bought my 1St hand gun I found a local club and joined before I ever loaded or fired it. I had grew up around shotguns and rifles but knew nothing about handguns. They followed all NRA guide lines on safety and were very open to teaching me and my daughters how to own a handgun safely. Plus you make great friends with common interest. I also( and my wife laughs at me) watch ours of (how to) you tube videos anytime I try something new. So I think the key is Knowledge and start out slow.
  6. 0nce again this sight saves me It was the back brake switch. It was corroded up pretty bad. I went to search and found what should be the problem. Then to 1st gen tech library and found how to take it apart and clean the brake switches. It ended up being the back brake switch but I cleaned them both. Thanks Dingy for such a great write up with plenty of close up pictures . I love this sight.
  7. My Brake lights are always on. Any Idea what would cause this?
  8. Thanks drained everything and changed filter and spark plugs. It seemed to fix my problem.
  9. Drain the carb bowls into a clear container, let it settle and see if there is water. If so, drain the fuel tank and change the fuel filter. Change the spark plugs, too. Okay thanks I will try it tomorrow
  10. I have an 84 Venture standard it ran smooth and sweet after having my carbs completely rebuilt. Then on a trip to Houston I got some bad gas. I ran sea foam through it and it seemed to fix it, but it is just not as smooth as it was. It used to role in and out of hills and curves like sweet music. Now it seems a little rough. My gut is telling my carbs are out of tune, but I could be wrong. Please let me what you guys or gals think. If you think it is out of tune what is a good quality tuner and is there any special tool that would make the job easier. Thanks again for any help
  11. Would need bigger fans for my big butt lol

    WD-40 uses

It also works great at removing tar off of your vehicle
  13. Sorry I have an 84 Standard
  14. Could some one please tell me the best way to remove the TCI from its original sight and move to on top pf the air box. Thanks
  15. I am sorry to hear that you have lost vision in your right eye. I have went most of my life with being blind in my left eye. It is a pain sometimes but you can make it and ride a bike again. My state restricts me that I can only drive vehicles with mirrors, but what car or bike doesn't have mirrors anymore. The big thing I have to stay conscious of is depth perception. I always allow plenty of room between me and the car in front of me, and when pulling into traffic when in doubt I wait. Again I am sorry but when the shock wears of remember you can still lead a very normal life. I would say protect the good eye you have left. I wear eye protection when riding, mowing, shooting, or anything that could cause damage to my good eye.
  16. Okay thanks. I guess I am back on the search for a a MKI hitch.
  17. Would a hitch for an 87 fit on an 84, or would I have to do any major mods?
  18. I have an 84 Venture and I upgraded to a spin on oil filter. I am wanting to add the part from an MKII that would protect it. It looks like a chin lol
  19. I have put 2500 miles on them so far, and they feel great.
  20. Congratulations ! I am thinking about doing one my self. I was wondering who the seat guy was (Rick Butler). And how to get ahold of him
  21. I would message Earl and ask him.

    Sirens

Tornado sirens are going off in Fort Smith
  24. Got both of the new E3's mounted, Ride-on installed, greased both ends of drive line, and changed gear oil in final drive. Took it for a small test ride (would have rode longer but tornado sirens were going off) and the back tire seems slightly out of round. It did feel like it was smoothing out by the time I got home. I was wondering if I get out and ride it on a hot day will it smooth on out ?
