  1. Make sure you are in 3D mode and the arrow will be in front of you. No way that I have seen to change font. Just brightness which helps with clarity since you can’t make the letters bigger. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Puc my Brother you leave me speechless. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I know the title is sexist but the title area doesn't have enough room for a full gender/ family description..... Like mine always was, I have the solution. I bought one for myself after doing this review. A satellite hotspot for your mobile phone. You can always "send for help" or text that everything is ok or whatever because this little device connects any smart phone to act like a Satellite Phone. Here is my review. I think anyone riding where there is no cell service should have one of these. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/05/19/somewear-global-hotspot-review-the-no-service-alternative/ VentureFar...
  4. Hello fellow Venturer's, I was able to get my hands on the TomTom Rider 550. It is great just like my Brother @cowpuc finds the twisties for you along with free world wide map updates and free traffic- as long as it is connected to wifi or bluetooth off your phone. I really like it and will be using it from now on. Here is my review. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/07/01/tomtom-rider-550-review-gps-and-more-for-motorcycles/ VentureFar...
  5. Since states are so different I suggest getting a taillight flasher they only flashes 3 to 4 times before going solid. That way it looks like you did it manually. Which is recommended in many dmv handbooks anyway. be safe ! VentureFar...
  6. Beautiful Venture. As I read “light” I was wondering what bike you were talking about. Does it have the lift kit On the rear and a 130 (narrower) front tire? If so then yup. Welcome to the wonderful world of Ventures. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. What state did this happen in. I am happy to spend the time getting at least an opinion from the Texas State Patrol or others. VentureFar...
  8. adding: different states have different rules about brake lights. If you put a whole lot of RED in the back and as up high as possible, you will be legal in all 50 states. My point is not rear anyway, it is front.
  9. Who ever did the citing was wasting everyone's time. There is no debate. It is legal in all 50 states. You know the saying, I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6? Well if you are on board with Modulators, install it and take your changes with an uninformed LEO. If I was stopped i would ask for a supervisor and take the time to educate that officer and their whole department Here is the specific SA - Department of Transportation: FMVSS 108 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) (49 CFR Part 571.108 S7.9.4) allows motorcycle headlight modulation systems in all 50 states provided they comply with the standards set forth in Section S7.9.4. Title 49 USC 30103(b1) (US Codes) prohibits any state from forbidding a system that conforms to FMVSS 108. No State or Local ordinance shall usurp the authority and enforcement of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Get the Kisan and print this out and keep it in your sidebag. http://thevillagenomads.com/thevillagenomads/downloadpdf_files/Federal%20Law%20on%20Modulator-headlamp.pdf
  10. I have the Mike Butler mid on my 2007 race seat. I thought I wanted a back rest too but when I got in the saddle after Mike did his magic, I didn’t need a back rest. I am sitting IN the seat so deep that what is there acts like a back rest. Literally before the butler mod I would get a pain in my back and of course my butt. After the mod I did 2 iron butts And never squirmed in the seat or needed ibuprofen! Talking 17 and 21 hours Of saddle time. My 2 cents VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Probably true but it is a $185 unit so I would remove it. Heck I remove my water bottle when I leave the bike out of view. Thanks for reading it. I enjoy sharing this stuff with my friends in this forum. VentureFar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Hi all I saw an interesting piece of hardware and got it in for review. It is called the Beeline Moto. It was originally designed for bicyclists to keep their phone in their pocket and still have a gps display to know where they are going. @cowpuc doesn’t use any dang contraption for navigating, Tweeks has a built in sense to follow migration routes, but for the rest of us...we need to know where to turn next. That is what this thing does. It is not for everyone and probably not for most of us on a Venture, but I believe in sharing my good fortune to be writing reviews for ultimatemotorcycling.com in hope that I am helping my fellow riders. https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/06/28/beeline-moto-review-gps-visual-display-device/ VentureFar... 13. Glad you are in the mend. You know finding the metric wrench is a sign you are supposed to get another metric bike :-) By the way, please look into Kisan headlight modulator. People see your headlight “flashing”. ( really modulating) as you approach and they think you are a cop and it registers at all ages to not pull out. VentureFar Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Love you too my brother. Stay dry and healthy. VentureFar...
  15. My first impression is external to the motor. My buddy and I were on our first IRON butt and he heard a sound like that and it was not rpm connected. He has a Harley. Turns out it was the rear exhaust manifold rubbing against the cylinder.the bolt(s) holding exhaust pipe had rattled loose and dropped off somewhere on the freeway. Unfortunately the exhaust heat burned up some wiring which ended up costing him $1000’s to fix. With a thick glove hold on to parts connected to the engine and see if the sound disappears. Good luck VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hello all, I just got a chance to review the Sena SF1 bluetooth - low end unit. It is a lot of fun getting to ride review products and sharing what I learn. I hope these help you all in making buying decisions. If you would like me to " try" to get a product in for review that you were thinking of buying, let me know. Currently I have in transit: Tom Tom Rider GPS Remote Tire monitoring- lost in Fed Ex somewhere Interesting GPS add on called Beeline (.co not .com if you are interested. Here is my review of the low end Sena. Comments appreciated and requested - especially from my Brother @cowpuc https://ultimatemotorcycling.com/2020/06/09/sena-sf1-review-for-rider-to-passenger-communication/ VentureFar...
  17. I know this set up is Non standard and not for everyone but I have run all night two times with this setup and you can play Tennis in front of my bike on a no moon night at 75 mph. The two LED's are 25W coming off the mirror stalks. The two down low off the fender are 10 watt. The reason I have the 10's is because when I have on coming traffic and have to turn off the Flame throwers, it appears pitch black in front of me with out the 10's on to at least light up about 20 feet in front of me...so I can see what it hit :-( These LED's literally allow me to see to stop at 75mph in the middle of the desert with no ambient light. And they are great for lane splitting in California- especially when my Kisan headlight is pulsing. fyi on the Kisan- I get obvious "respect" from the headlight modulator verses any amount of lights on the front. I know this because I have occasionally not turned it on and the difference on a ride in Los Angeles is obvious. VentureFar...
  18. I get an uncomfortable feeling when riding alone in the twisties and my phone has NO SERVICE. Can you relate? Well there is a fix for that feeling. It is the satellite connected Personal Locator Beacons- SOS type button to summon the Calvary - but you don't always need search and rescue, just a gallon of gas or a ride on the back of a flat bed. Here is my review on a great product that really stands out among the competition. I hope you enjoy the read as much as I enjoyed writing it @cowpuc. 19. Speedo reads 6mph to high on any speed over 40 on my 2007 2nd gen. I use the speed read out on my Gps and never look at my speedo. VentureFar... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just have to share that this is the funniest thread I have ever read on a forum. The old Dr joke rings true for the 1st Gens Hey Dr it hurts when I do this! Dr: Then don't do that ! These 1st and 2nd gens really have personalities....and we love them Thanks for the laugh. VentureFar....
  21. I have carried MSR bottles since 2007 and they work great but no one cares about a ride report on an MSR bottle. That is why i am asking about "purpose" built motorcycle side bag gas cans. I have coming in for test 1. remote reading tire pressure valve attachments that bluetooth to your phone 2. Satellite phone hotspot that works with your phone when you are in areas of "NO SERVICE" Hoping to test other stuff too. VentureFar...
  22. excellent. Thanks for the info. I reached out to Reda directly in their web site. I’ll advise how they reply. VentureFar...
