  1. We had very high winds here all day yesterday. The TV and Internet went down yesterday evening. There was nothing to do here, had to talk to my wife. She seems like a nice person. Internet is back on now but TV is still down. At least with Internet, the streaming services work now. I've been thinking about cancelling the cable anyway. I guess this is a good test.

  2. I've just finished installing a keyless ignition module from Digital Guard Dawg. As part of the install, I made a custom ignition cover where I installed a push button to activate the bike (essentially the same as turning the key on, once the module sees the FOB). At the same time, I added another push button to manually turn on the fan. And while I was in there, added a relay for the running lights to take a little load off the whole thing. I didn't follow the DGD's wiring guide, which would completely disable the key. I wanted the key to still operate as a backup. When I contacted DGD about wiring it in parallel to the key, they said yes, their police dept customers require this. They have plug-n-play wiring harness for a lot of bikes, but not the Venture, so I made my own as I did not want to cut any wires in case I ever decide to pull it out. The only thing I don't have with the keyless is ACC setting, which is ok because I can still do that with the key, if needed (which I rarely, if ever, use anyways). Next project will be a keyless gas cap.

  3. Hi Everyone Spent the last 2 days in the garage and made some progress with help from a good friend yesterday, spent Friday Evening Polishing the Pipes with the Dual Action sander I have most of the Grinding marks out of the Pipes with 240 need to pick up some 600 and 900 grit to continue on but you can start to see the shine of the SS. Finalized the forward controls Mounting, then sorted out the New Engine Guard Mounting locations, Slight modification to the Rear Bag mounts, Pulled the old Block I used to Mock up and Fabricate the Exhaust Pipes, Last thing to Fabricate are the Floorboard Mounting brackets, almost finished all the fabrication and welding then my Batteries Die for the Auto Darken welding helmet, Tried welding with my old flip up Mask and it was like I forgot how to weld. Funny How we get used to these new auto darken masks you don't realize until you go back to a standard helmet. Anyways I have attached some additional Pictures of the Forward controls and The Engine Guards and a couple sneak peek pics with the Plastics to give you a better Idea of how it should Look when I get it complete. Once the Floorboards are done , next job is to pull the rest of the Bike apart starting with the Front end and completely rebuild , new Head bearings, front Axle bearings , rebuild the Calipers, install the Progressive springs, and replace the Fork seals Make up a set of Block off plates to delete the anti dives, then After that is the Rear swing arm and Rear subframe and Fuel tank pull everything apart and Clean up and rebuild it completely inspect all bushings and replace as needed add Grease nipples on all swing arm joints etc. and give the Frame a new coat of paint. With the weather starting to get above 0 deg C I should be able to get in the garage in the evenings without having to preheat for an hour. Until next time Take care all Herman

  8. The question is though, did she find out if her husband was equally nice? We haven’t had cable for years and have gotten along. There are lots of alternatives.

  9. OOPS.....I just noticed that I didn't read your question correctly. You asked about balance between the left and right. I don't think that there is an adjustment for balance. If one side is louder, I figure you have a bad speaker or a wiring problem.

  10. I actually had a small Kubota a few years ago. It had the FEL and backhoe. Was a good tractor but just overpriced compared to the Mahindras and Kiotis which serve me just fine. The Kubota was the small one. BX22 or something like that.

  11. Sold the 2000 Venture today. 160,127 miles of enjoyment and solitude. The last vestiges of my single life has gone on to another rider. Be well, my friend. Advised the new owner to join up here. We shall see if he shows up. RR
