uncledj Posted Saturday at 10:59 AM #1 Posted Saturday at 10:59 AM I'm looking to buy a couple of helmets for the wife and I. Looking online, there's so many choices at different prices that it's a little overwhelming trying to pick one. I'd like a modular, with the flip down sunshield, preferably with an already installed Bluetooth system, primarily for music or intercom so Lisa and I can communicate while riding....and to hear GPS directions. While I don't want to break the bank, I'm willing to spend a bit more for comfort / functionality / simplicity. With Ventureriders being the most knowledgeable group on the web.....I thought I should ask for opinions... Anyone care to opine?
Marcarl Posted Saturday at 11:58 AM #2 Posted Saturday at 11:58 AM The last time Marca and I bought helmets we decided on the brand and size, tried on 4 different helmets each and one had a nice fit for me but not quite for her, so the dealer ordered 4 more and one of those did do what we liked. You might get lucky going on line and maybe not, so how much comfort will you sacrifice for price?
tooldood Posted Saturday at 03:07 PM #3 Posted Saturday at 03:07 PM (edited) I have the LS2 Advant modular helmet and love it. The reason I like it is that when the chin bar is flipped open it rotates all the way to the back and is not sticking up like a sail to catch the wind. I'm not sure if it is available with the built-in bluetooth, but there are aftermarket options for that. Edited Saturday at 03:09 PM by tooldood 1
vzuden Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM #4 Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM In my opinion the only way to buy a helmet is on fit. Size varies between manufacturers and head shapes vary with manufacturers only fitting certain shapes. I replace mine every five years and Shoei modular as my go to. I use a comm system between helmets blue toothed to our respective iPhones 2
